Premier League Team of the Season So Far

There has been only 9 games in the Premier League this season meaning we are only 23.68% into the Premier League season. Even though it is early in the season there have been many standout performances in the league this season. It is hard to narrow it down to 11 players but let's look at the best XI in the Premier League to this point in the season. The formation used will be a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Goalkeeper: David Raya (Arsenal)
Raya kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League last season and he has continued his fine form this season. Raya has kept 3 clean sheets in 9 league games this season. He has also made 25 saves this season and has a save percentage of 80.7%.
Right Back: Pedro Porro (Spurs)
Porro has certainly been a standout for Spurs this season. Porro has been excellent going forward creating 16 chances and scoring once. Trent Alexander Arnold could easily make this team as he has created 17 chances but Porro gets in because of the improvements he has made over the last season.

Centre Back: Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool)
Liverpool have the strongest centre back partnership on paper this season. They have conceded just 5 goals in the league this season. Konate has kept 5 clean sheets this season, playing a full part in 4 of those games and coming on at half time versus Ipswich on the opening day of the season, keeping a clean sheet.
Centre Back: Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool)
There are many players who could have been selected in this spot with Arsenal pair William Saliba and Gabriel in fine form. I have gone for Van Dijk as he looks back to his best and is part of the earlier mentioned best defence in the league.
Left Back: Josko Gvardiol (Man City)
Gvardiol is a centre back but Guardiola has played him as a left back for a large part of his time at the club. Gvardiol has now established himself at left-back, with goals against Newcastle United and Wolves.
Central Midfielder: Moises Caicedo (Chelsea)
Quietly having a brilliant season in that Chelsea midfield, he logged four tackles and six interceptions in the victory over Newcastle United. He has also logged two Premier League assists this season.
"Even though it is early in the season there have been many standout performances in the league this season."
Central Midfielder: Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)
Ryan Gravenberch has been in excellent form this season. He has been a breath of fresh air for Liverpool and has made the holding midfield role his own, a position Liverpool were looking to fill in the summer.
This was a tough choice as I easily could have gone with Mo Salah for this position. Salah has 6 goals and 5 assists in the league this season. He has 11 goal involvements which is 1 more than Saka who has 10 (3 goals 7 assists). Saka had an assist in each of the first five Premier League games of the season, before setting up the Ndidi own goal with another inch-perfect corner delivery. He then claimed two more assists and a second goal of the season v Southampton.
Attacking Midfielder: Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
Cole Palmer is arguably the best player in the Premier League at the moment so there was no way he was not making this team. He has 7 goals and 5 assists this season including scoring 4 in one half versus Brighton.
Left Wing: Luis Diaz (Liverpool)
Diaz started the season brilliantly for Liverpool as he looks to nail down first choice left wing for Liverpool with stiff competition from Cody Gakpo, who is also having a terrific season. Diaz has 5 goals and 2 assists for Liverpool this season including a brace against bitter rivals Man United at Old Trafford.
Striker: Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Haaland has 11 league goals in just 9 Premier League games. No more words need to be said.
