An Unbelievable Out of Contract XI in Summer 2025.

Free agent football players this summer apr

Introduction

From huge stars such as Trent Alexander Arnold and Mo Salah in the Premier League, to stars from the continent like Lille forward Jonathan David and Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, there may be no shortage of world class talent potentially available on free transfers during this summer transfer window.

As well as the stars that I have mentioned above, let’s now look at a potential starting 11 of some of the best players who may be on the move.

Free Transfer XI

1️⃣ GK: Alex Meret

The current Napoli goalkeeper has firmly established himself as the No 1 for the club over recent seasons including playing a leading role in the club securing their first Serie A title in 33 years during the 2022/23 season. He has also represented the Italian national team on 3 occasions and was part of the Italy squad that won Euro 2020.

2️⃣ RB: Trent Alexander Arnold

It is widely suspected that the Liverpool right back will join Real Madrid in the summer, becoming the latest in a new batch of Galacticos joining the 15 times European champions over recent seasons. The 26-year-old has firmly established himself as the most well known right back in world football with his array of passing and crossing ability unmatched by almost anyone else.

3️⃣ CB: Jonathan Tah

The 2023/24 Bundesliga winner with Bayer Leverkusen will certainly be a much-wanted free transfer if he does indeed leave the German club in the summer. We can expect that Bayern Munich will surely be involved in the hunt for Tah, while Barcelona have also been linked to the 29-year-old.

4️⃣ CB: Virgil Van Dijk

The second Liverpool star to be included, what a free transfer signing the Anfield club’s captain would be for any potential suitor. Still regarded as one of the best, if not the best centre half in world football, the 33-year-old has not skipped a beat during Arne Slot’s first season with Liverpool and looks set to lead the club to their 20th Championship in English football.

5️⃣ LB: Oliver Boscagli

Normally a left sided centre back, Boscagli is another highly rated defender who may be available for nothing in the summer. An Eredivisie winner with current club PSV Eindhoven, Boscagli has proven himself a worthy addition for top-level clubs with his performances for the 1988 European Cup winners in recent seasons.

6️⃣ CM: Thomas Partey

Partey joined Arsenal in 2020 and has been a mainstay of the team this season. This does not appear to have stopped the club from seemingly looking at bringing in a new midfielder in the summer and allowing the former Atletico Madrid man to leave for nothing. The Ghana international has made over 150 appearances for the London club but looks like he will be donning new club colours ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Liverpool it seems will be the gift that keeps on giving, in this summer transfer window as star forward Mo Salah becomes the third Anfield superstar to make this team.

7️⃣ CM: Franck Anguissa

Part of one of the best midfield units in Serie A this season alongside Scott McTominay and Stanislav Lobotka at Napoli, Anguissa’s performances have drawn widespread acclaim as Napoli chase a second title in three seasons. The former Fulham man combines physical capabilities with technical brilliance, meaning Antonio Conte will be desperate to hang onto him heading into next season.

8️⃣ RW: Mo Salah

Liverpool it seems will be the gift that keeps on giving, in this summer transfer window as star forward Mo Salah becomes the third Anfield superstar to make this team. The 32-year-old joined the club in 2017 and has proven himself as one of the greatest players in the club’s history. Already a three-time Golden Boot winner he looks set to win a fourth this season, as well as add his second Premier League medal.

9️⃣ AM: Kevin De Bruyne

An iconic Premier League footballer, 2024/25 could be the last season the Belgian midfielder graces the pitches of England’s topflight. One of the truly outstanding players of the Premier League era, the 33-year-old looks increasingly likely to end his trophy laden career in a less physically demanding and stressful League after calling time on his legendary Manchester City career.

🔟 LW: Leroy Sane

Sane has shone at two of Europe’s biggest clubs in Bayern Munich and Manchester City over the last decade. His influence on Munich appears to have waned however recently, and it now looks likely that the 2025 summer window could see the 29-year-old seek out pastures new. There will undoubtedly be no shortage of takers for a player that can still produce moments of sheer magic, with maybe a return to England on the cards.

⏸️ ST: Jonathan David

Canadian international David has shone at Ligue 1 side Lille this season. The 25-year-old hit 7 Champions League goals as his side made the last 16 of this year’s tournament. He has also hit 32 goals in 61 caps for Canada. David’s pace, skill and ability to play in a range of positions will make him a much sought after free transfer if he decides not to renew his contract at the 2020/21 Ligue 1 winners.
