✔️ World Grand Prix Snooker Betting Tips
The great thing about snooker betting is the fact that there are many different markets that you can bet on, which ensure that boredom does not show its ugly face. Betting on the match winner, for example, can be fun, but if this was all you could bet on, the entertainment levels would soon drop.
Below I am going to take you through some of the most popular snooker betting markets, and under each one I shall give you some helpful tips to keep in mind when you are making use of snooker odds. While they cannot guarantee you a winning wager, they will not hurt your chances of being successful.
Match Winner
No matter what sport you are thinking about betting on, you will always have the option of betting on the team or player that you think will win a particular match. In other sports, there will usually be the option of betting on a draw, but most snooker tournaments are in a knockout format, so draws are not an option.
Top Tip 1: You might be tempted to bet on the player that has a higher ranking since this indicates that they have performed better throughout the season, but keep in mind that the World Grand Prix is one of those events where only the best of the best take part - anyone can beat anyone on their day. So, it is important to do some research into recent form as well as their head-to-head record against particular opponents.
Accumulator or Combination Betting
Irish sports betting fans enjoy placing accumulators, also known as combination betting or accas, because they give them the opportunity to potentially win some big monetary prizes without having to risk a big wager. The reason for this is that the odds are higher since all the individual odds for your different selections are combined. While big profits are on offer, what I need to remind you of here is the fact that you need to get all your selections right in order to be a winner.
Top Tip 2: I know that you might be tempted to place a good number of accumulators because of the potential high profit margins, but I do not suggest that you do this because they are tricky to get 100% right. Another suggestion I have for you is to not put down too many selections in your acca - yes, the odds will be much higher, but your chances of landing a win will greatly decrease.
The Winner of the Next Frame
If you do not know who to bet on to win the match, then you also have the option at the best snooker betting sites to put your money on the player who you think will be victorious in the next frame. It does not matter if they go on and lose the match heavily, so long as they win the frame that you predicted them to do.
Top Tip 3: Although there are just two options with this market, Player A or Player B, it is not one where there is a 50% chance that you win. If one player has been playing at the top of their game, then they obviously have a better chance of being victorious. The odds can be pretty unenticing at times with this market, so you need to keep an eye on them and strike when they are high.
Match Handicap
There will always be mismatches in the sporting world, and when such matches crop up the odds that are on offer will not entice you at all. In such a case, the odds for the favourite will be really low, while betting on the underdog might be akin to just throwing your money down the drain.
In this type of match situation, handicap betting can be really useful since it allows you to give one of the players an advantage or disadvantage. For instance, if you want to bet on the favourite, you can give them a 3-frame disadvantage in order to boost their odds. Or if you would like to put money on the underdog, you can give them a 3-frame advantage to increase their chances of "winning" - although, keep in mind that the odds will decrease.
Top Tip 4: Due to the fact that the top 32 players take part in the World Grand Prix, there will not be many mismatches that you can use handicap betting on. Even if the number one ranked player is playing the player that is ranked 32, it is likely to be a close game. So, in such a tournament, handicap betting is not going to be as useful as it would be in other events, where there is a bigger gap in quality.
Highest Break
All of the top snooker betting sites out there will allow their punters to put wagers on the player that they believe will compose the highest break in a particular match or across the whole event. The odds will be higher for the latter option as it is a harder prediction to get right. What I love about this type of market is that your selected player does not even have to win the match or the whole event - they just have to build the best break.
Top Tip 5: All of the top players have different skill sets and characteristics that make them great players, so when it comes to this kind of market, I recommend that you do plenty of research to find out which players are playing at the top of their game and those who have been known for being quality break builders.
Outright Betting (Tournament Winner)
If you do not want to bet on a player to win a particular match, then you can put your money on the player that you think will go on and lift the title. Since this is a harder market to predict than the match winner, the odds that are on offer will be higher.
Top Tip 6: Before you place an outright winner market, take a look at the draw of the Grand Prix to see who players might come up against if they make it deep in the competition. Once you have done this, check out how your potential winner has performed against these opponents in the past. Also, try to place your tournament winner bet as early as possible as the odds will not get better as the tournament plays out.
