Six Nations 2025 Betting Odds, Tips & Predictions

When it comes to historic and prestigious rugby tournaments the Six Nations is the cream of the crop. The first edition of this European international rugby competition took place in 1883 and was called the Home Nations as it featured England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. France entered the fray in 1919, and Italy joined in the year 2000 to make it the 6 Nations. Below I will guide you through the top 6 Nations betting sites, take a look at the odds for the 2025 edition, and provide some valuable betting tips. So, if you want to do some rugby betting, read this closely first.

🏆 Six Nations Betting Odds - Outright Winner (2025)
The 2025 Six Nations will take place between the 31st of February and the 15th of March, and in the table below you can find the odds for event.
N.B. Six Nations odds are subject to change, so I will keep them updated for you.
France
It would not have been easy for French rugby fans to see South Africa lift the Webb Ellis trophy on Parisian soil as they had the best chance to win the Rugby World Cup for the first time. France were knocked out by Siya Kolisi's men in the last out and will feel that they missed out on a big opportunity.
The French squad is young, so they have plenty of chances to grow and get better, but they are going to be missing some key players for the Six Nations - Antoine Dupont will sit out so that he can represent France in Sevens Rugby at the Olympics, and there are rumours that others will join. Despite this, they are still the early favourites for the title, and they will want to put their highly disappointing World Cup campaign behind them.

Ireland
Last year, Andy Farrell steered Ireland to their second Grand Slam in five years, and it looked like the best preparation possible for the Rugby World Cup. The Irish performed well in the Group Stage but crumbled under the pressure once again in the Quarter-Finals. This is one of the best Irish teams ever, and they still could not make it past the last eight.
Ireland will head into the event without their talismanic fly-half, Johnny Sexton. He retired at the end of the World Cup, and it seems that Jack Crowley will replace him - he has very big boots to fill, and it will be exciting to see if he can handle the pressure. Other than that, the squad should be more or less the same, and many of their players are in their prime. Their first match is against France, and this could be the match that determines the winner of the tournament.

England
Few rugby fans would have expected England to be the best northern hemisphere at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Even more so, not many would have expected them to finish third and be within a whisker of making the semi-finals. This performance sealed Steve Borthwick's fate as the head coach of England.
England's team will be full of changes because many squad members have decided to move to France due to financial issues in the Premiership. Those who are playing in France will not be eligible to play for England. Additionally, the likes of Johnny May, Courtney Lawes, and Ben Youngs have all retired. It is really difficult to predict how a new-look England will perform, but under Borthwick, we should not expect an entertaining brand of rugby. This tournament will probably just be used to sort out their identity for the future.

Scotland
Scotland head into this competition in a bit of a strange position. They failed to make it to the knockout stages of the World Cup, but they have still decided to stick with Gregor Townsend. Last year's competition shows how far this Scottish team has come, finishing just below Ireland and France. Although they did not impress in France, this is a very good Scottish team.
The Scots will be without Stuart Hogg as he has retired, while the likes of Richie Gray, WP Nel, Hamish Watson, and Chris Harris are probably looking at their final Six Nations appearance. They have plenty of depth, and with England and Wales not at their best and France missing several stars, they will be looking at going one better than the 2024 campaign. Scotland play England and France at home, so they might head to Ireland in Round 5 with a potential Grand Slam on the line. Whatever happens, this should be an exciting campaign for Scottish fans.

Wales
Wales are another team that exceeded expectations at the World Cup. They would have been disappointed to lose to Argentina in the last eight, but some did not even expect them to get out of the group. There is plenty of chaos happening at the WRU, and this Six Nations will be a reset for them.
They will be looking towards the likes of Jac Morgan, Christ Tshiunza, Tommy Reffell, Dafydd Jenkins, and Dewi Lake to steer Welsh rugby towards calmer waters. Dan Biggar has retired, so it will be interesting to see how they plug the gap at 10, while they can no longer call upon Leigh Halfpenny as has also retired. The likes of George North and Liam Williams will not be around for much longer either. There is a lot more optimism among Welsh fans after the Rugby World Cup, and I am very interested to see the type of strides that they can make in the 2025 Six Nations.

Italy
Italy were never expected to do much at the World Cup, but some of their performances in the pool stage were embarrassing. Many had hoped that they could give New Zealand and France a match, but they came nowhere close. They looked like they were moving in the right direction with Kieran Crowley in charge, but he is no longer the coach, so Italy will have new leadership for the Six Nations in the shape of Gonzalo Quesada.
While they underperformed at the Rugby World Cup, they had the youngest squad in the competition. The likes of Michele Lamaro, Paolo Garbisi, Lorenzo Cannone, Ange Capuozzo, and Danilo Fishcetti are under 25, so they have a lot of time to get better. They need to show improvement at the 2025 Six Nations, or the calls to replace them with the likes of Georgia will spring up again.

🪄Six Nations Betting Tips
We are now going to give you some top Six Nations betting tips that you should have a read of before you jump in and start making use of the odds.
Bet on Ireland to Win
I believe that Ireland will go on to defend the title that they won in 2023. Sexton will obviously be a big loss, but I believe that his replacement will be able to deal with the pressure on his shoulders. I would have backed France to put their World Cup disappointment behind them and win the title, but I believe that the absence of Dupont and potentially other key players will put a spanner in the works.
Ireland have been playing some top rugby over the last couple of years, and I think that they will be the team to beat at the 2025 Six Nations. If they come away from Paris on the 2nd of February with a win, then they will be very confident of retaining their title. What a great way to kick-start the 2025 edition.
Will Someone Win the Triple Crown?
Out of the four teams that compete for the Triple Crown, I think that the only nation that has a chance of beating all of the other three nations is Ireland. They have a better team than the rest, so will back themselves to beat them. However, they should be wary of Scotland because they have the ability to beat anyone on their day. I am actually looking forward to Scotland's visit to the Aviva Stadium on the last weekend of the tournament - as I mentioned earlier, if all the stars align, both teams could be battling it out for the title.
In the table below, you can find a summary of the above tips as well as the best place to go to bet on such an outcome.

🛍️ Six Nations Betting Markets
I am now going to take you through the various markets that you will find when it comes to placing bets on big rugby events such as the 6 Nations.
Outright Winner
With this market, what you are doing is placing a bet on the team that you think will go on and win the competition. The earlier you place your wager, the better the odds will be since they will decrease with each passing match.
Match Winner
With this type of bet, you are putting your money on the team that you think will go on and win a particular match. In rugby, you do have the option of betting on a draw, but bear in mind that draws are not that common in this sport.
Handicap Betting
Sometimes, there will be such a discrepancy in class between two teams that it really is not worth betting on either to win. The odds for the favourites will be too low, meaning that you will need to put down a big stake for any decent potential return. On the other hand, if you bet on the underdog, your chances of winning will be pretty slim. In such a case, you can give a team a points disadvantage or advantage in order to level the playing field.
Half-Time/Full-Time Result
If you want to bet on the result of a match but are looking for some higher potential odds, then you could opt for the half-time/full-time market. With such a bet type, what you need to try and do is predict the team that will be winning at the half-time interval and the team that will be winning when the referee blows the final whistle.
First Tryscorer
As you can tell from the name of this market, what you are tasked with doing is trying to predict the player that will go on to score the first try. It does not matter if their team does not win the game, so long as the first try is scored by them. There is also the option of betting on no tryscorer, but this is a rare feat.
Total Points Over/Under
You can also bet on the number of points that will be scored. Your bookmaker will give you a figure, such as 35.5, and then you need to decide whether the final total points count will be Over or Under this figure.

📜 History of the Six Nations
The first Six Nations took place in 1883, which was 12 years after Scotland and England played the first ever international Rugby Union match. This championship included just England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, which, at the time, was part of the UK. It was called the Home Nations, and it was won by England.
In 1910, France officially joined the competition - I say officially because they had competed in four previous tournaments. Thus, the tournament changed its name to the Five Nations. They won their first title in 1959 and then dominated in the 60s and 70s. In the year 2000, the tournament became known as the 6 Nations when Italy were added to the mix. The Italians have not come close to winning the title, and have finished at the bottom of the table no fewer than 18 times.
🏉 Six Nations Competition Format
The 6 Nations has a Round Robin format, meaning that each team will play everyone once, with home advantage alternating each year. The team that finishes with the most points will claim the title. In 2017, a bonus point system was introduced. Nowadays, 2 points are awarded for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 points for a defeat - if a team scores four tries in a match, they get a bonus point, while a team that loses by no more than seven points will receive a losing bonus point. A team that wins all five games will be granted an additional three points to ensure that they cannot lose.
🎆 Past Six Nations Winners
When you are doing a spot of outright betting, it is always a wise move to check out previous winners as winning is something that breeds success. Teams that have won in the recent past will know what it takes to win once more. Below you can find the winners of the 6 Nations from 2016 onwards.
Out of the last eight tournaments, England and Ireland have had the most success as they have each won the title three times. Overall, England are the most successful team in the history of this tournament, securing a total of 29 titles. Wales are in second place with 28 titles, while France have 18.
