💡UCL Semi-Final Betting Tips
Each of the four semi-finalists are currently ranked in the top 10 of UEFA’s club coefficient standings, with Bayern Munich occupying top spot. They’ll do battle with fifth-ranked PSG in the first semi-final, while Atletico Madrid (10th) and Arsenal (seventh) will compete for the second final spot.
The high profile nature of these clubs will ensure high betting volumes and liquidity, creating competitive odds across a broad selection of markets. To help you leverage these markets to your advantage, we’ve created some expert Champions League betting tips below:
1️⃣ Betting on the UCL Semi-Finals or Qualification 2025/26
We’ll start with a brief preview of each semi-final tie, which will comprise two legs that are scheduled between Tuesday, 28th April and Wednesday, 6th May. Our analysis will include insightful Champions League betting tips, which may be focused on the first leg clash or the tie as a whole.
PSG vs Bayern Munich Betting
Bayern Munich booked their place in the last four following a thrilling quarter-final win over Real Madrid, which produced 10 goals over the two legs. They also have the best record in this season’s competition, winning 11 of their 12 matches (91.6%) and scoring 38 goals at a rate of 3.16 per 90 minutes.
Bayern’s matches have also produced a total of 52 goals, at an impressive average of 4.33 per 90. PSG have contested a total of 14 matches that have yielded 55 goals at a rate of 3.93 per game, so both teams are potent in attack but occasionally porous defensively.
Bayern currently boast the second-best away record in this season’s Champions League too. They’ve won five of their six matches on the road, suffering a single defeat at Arsenal during the League phase.
PSG have also won just four of their seven home games during the campaign (57.1%), so expect a keenly contested and close match at the Parc des Princes. This makes it hard to make an accurate PSG vs Bayern Munich prediction, so we’d recommend backing over 3.5 goals being scored in the first leg at odds of 1.95 with DirectionBet.
Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal Betting
The semi-final clash between Atletico and Arsenal is likely to be a much tighter affair, despite the La Liga outfit being the third-highest scorers in this season’s UCL. Diego Simeone’s battle-hardened outfit have struck 34 goals at a rate of 2.42 per game, while forward Julien Alvarez has struck nine goals at 0.74 per 90 minutes.
However, Arsenal have the best defensive record of any team that has played more than four matches in the 2025/26 Champions League. The Gunners have conceded just five goals in 12 matches at an average of just 0.41 per 90, while it’s now 314 minutes since they allowed their opponents to score in the competition.
The bad news for Arsenal is that their overall form has dipped significantly of late, winning just one of their previous six matches in all competitions. This run has seen them lose a Carabao Cup final, be eliminated from the FA Cup and give up a nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League. They’ve kept just two clean sheets during this run too.
Although their recent form has also been mixed, Atletico have been prioritising the Champions League and will be energised ahead of the first leg at the Metropolitano. So, our Atletico vs Arsenal prediction is that the La Liga side will edge a tight first leg, and you can get on this at odds of 2.80 with DirectionBet.
Our best Champions League betting tip is that over 3.5 goals will be scored in the first leg clash between PSG and Bayern at the Parc des Princes. You can also bet on both teams to score here at a competitive price of 1.80, with PSG and Bayern having failed to score just once between them in a combined total of 26 matches this term.
2️⃣ UCL Over/Under Goals and Match Totals
Over/under betting is particularly popular during the Champions League, including both the league phase and the knockout rounds. Interestingly, the goals-per-game ratio doesn’t vary significantly between the phases, although knockout contests tend to see slightly more goals scored on average.
For example, 618 goals were scored in all 189 matches in 2024/25, at a rate of 3.27 per game. The league phase produced 470 goals scored in 144 matches, at the marginally lower average of 3.26 per 90.
This season, 639 goals have now been scored in the 184 matches contested so far, at a rate of 3.47 per game. Unsurprisingly, the quarter-final ties were a little tighter than those in the previous rounds, with the eight matches yielding 20 goals at the lower rate of 2.5 per 90 minutes.
However, this remains a historically high-scoring season in the Champions League, while PSG, Bayern and Atletico have been the three most prolific sides throughout the campaign. So, betting over the 2.5 goals line will continue to offer value in the tournament, especially when you also factor in Arsenal’s recent poor form and defensive vulnerabilities.
3️⃣ UCL Top Scorer: Who Will Win the Golden Boot?
Current Champions League top scorer Kylian Mbappe can no longer add to his tally, after Bayern eliminated Real Madrid in the last eight. This leaves Harry Kane as the top scorer in the competition, with the prolific English striker having notched 12 goals in 11 UCL appearances at an average 1.24 per 90.
He’s now just three goals behind Mbappe, with at least two games to come against PSG in the last four. As a result, his Golden Boot odds have been shortened to just 2.80 at Directionbet, implying a 35.7% probability that he’ll go on to be the tournament’s top scorer in 2025/26.
Julien Alvarez is also a potential winner, with the Argentine having struck nine times in 13 UCL matches this season. However, it’s hard to see him overhauling both Kane and Mbappe over the course of the remaining matches, especially given the prospect of a tight semi-final clash between Atletico and Arsenal.
If you do believe that Kane will win this season’s Golden Boot, now is the time to act. Even if he notches just once in the semi-final first leg against PSG in Paris, his odds will shorten further ahead of the return match and a potential final.
4️⃣ Corners and Booking Markets: Capitalizing on Game Dynamics
For prop or live Champions League betting, you can target markets such as total corners and bookings. Our recommended bookmakers will set different totals and invite over/under wagers.
For corners, most betting takes place between the 7.5 and 12.5 lines. Historical data suggests the average Champions League match sees around 9.28 corners per 90 minutes, although this has increased slightly to 9.4 in 2025/26. Regardless, betting over 8.5 may provide an edge during the quarterfinals and subsequent knockout rounds.
For bookings, 713 cards were shown across 189 UCL matches last season, at an average of 3.77 per 90 minutes. So, focus between the 2.5 and 3.5 lines as a starting point, before refining your selections based on individual team and head-to-head data. Tighter games or matches where there’s an edge between the two sides may see a higher number of cards, including the upcoming semi-final clash between Atletico and Arsenal.
You can also bet on the total number of shots attempted during a game. As a guide, the 2024/25 Champions League averaged 21.67 goal attempts per 90, but this has increased to 25.72 this season (including 14.76 for the home side). When betting on specific matches, you should also factor in the average number of shots each team faces per game.
5️⃣ First Half vs Full Match Outcomes
Half-time/full-time betting is also popular in the Champions League. You’ll find markets on the scoreline (or result) at each interval and number of goals scored in each half. The second half tends to be more prolific. In 2024/25, 53% of games produced over 1.5 goals in the second half, compared to 41% in the first.
This season, 45% of all Champions League goals have been scored during the first half of matches, compared to 55% in the second 45 minutes. Home teams also dominate scoring and average 1.87 goals per game, while exactly 50.0% of all full-time results in the UCL favour the hosts.
When betting on half-time and full-time results, it’s important to compare and contrast each team’s individual record. For example, Bayern have won 11 of their 12 matches in 2025/26, while leading at half-time on seven occasions (58.3%).
This highlights the team’s ability to start quickly and dominate matches from the outset, so they offer exceptional value in the half-time/full-time market. Conversely, Arsenal’s rigidity and lack of offensive fluency makes them less likely to move ahead early during matches.

📈 Champions League Betting Markets
As noted, our recommended sportsbooks offer hundreds of Champions League match betting markets. There are plenty of outright markets available too, including which teams will qualify from the semi-finals and ultimately reach the final. Here’s a summary of the most popular UCL betting markets and how they function.
Outright / Match Betting
Outright wagering is the most straightforward market: pick the eventual Champions League winner for a particular season. Betting early is highly recommended here, as this tends to unlock the most competitive odds (especially when backing favourites). You can also pick individual match winners for each of the 189 games throughout the tournament, although this is complicated slightly by the prevalence of drawn games (either during the league phase or after 90 minutes). Some 16% of all UCL matches in 2024/25 ended tied, while this figure has increased slightly to 18% in 2025/26.
Individual Player Markets
The most popular individual player market is the UCL Golden Boot winner, which can offer long and competitive odds if you bet before or early in the competition. The odds for the most prolific strikers typically shorten as the tournament progresses and teams are eliminated. There are also extensive goalscorer markets markets available during each match, with first, last or anytime scorers offering variable and excellent value odds.
Both Teams to Score and Over/Under Markets
When engaging in match betting, you can also wager on both teams to score (BTTS) and the over/under on the total number of goals scored during 90 minutes. Such markets become particularly popular in the latter stages of the UCL, as you look to create value and build competitive combination wagers. In 2025/26, both teams have found the net in 51% of the UCL matches contested so far (across both qualifying games and the tournament proper). This percentage may increase slightly as the quality of matchups improves during the knockout phase, while it should be noted that many of the Champions League best tips revolve around this market.
Most over/under betting clusters around the 2.5-goals line, with 61% of all games in 2024/25 seeing more than 2.5 goals scored. So far in 2025/26, 60% of all completed games have yielded over 2.5 goals.
To Reach the Final
You can also wager on one or more teams to reach the UCL final. This market offers lower odds than the outright winner market, which unlock slightly higher implied probabilities. For example, second favourites Arsenal are now priced at around 1.40 to reach the final ahead of their last four tie. This implies a 71.4% probability of success, with the Gunners considered to be slight favourites against Atletico despite their recent lack of form.
🏆 Previous UCL Winners
Although Real Madrid have now been eliminated from the 2025/26 UCL, they’ve won a record 15 titles overall and five in the previous 10 years. They remain the competition’s most dominant team historically.
However, Luis Enrique’s young and dynamic PSG team is the defending champion and currently has a 28.6% probability of winning again this season. They would become just the second team to retain their title in the Champions League era, after Los Blancos won three-in-a-row between 2016 and 2018.
🎩 Champions League Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer
Picking a potential Golden Boot winner remains one of the most profitable Champions League bets. Kylian Mbappe remains the slight favourite in 2025/26, having struck 15 goals in just 11 games and three more than his nearest rival (Harry Kane).
However, he has now been eliminated from the competition and the odds of Kane winning have shortened significantly since the quarter-finals.
The tally of 15 is already more than the amount plundered by last season’s joint top scorers, with Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy and Raphinha from Barcelona each notching 13 goals. Here’s a summary of the last seven UCL Golden Boot winners and their totals.
