✔️ Wimbledon Tennis Betting Tips

In this part of my Wimbledon betting guide, I am going to provide you with my Wimbledon betting tips for the 2024 edition. You are obviously not obliged to agree with anything that I say below, but it is always smart to check out what experienced tipsters are thinking before slapping down a wager.

Who Will Win the Men's Title?

There are plenty of players who will feel that they have a really good chance of going on to claim the title and, due to how competitive men's tennis is nowadays, there are some top odds on offer at present. For instance, the likes of Alcaraz, Sinner, Djokovic, and Zverev will fancy their chances of winning on the grass, but I am going to have to put my money on Djokovic depsite the fact that he has just returned from knee surgery.

Top Tip 1: Bet on Novak Djokovic to win: It looked very unlikely that the Serb was going to be competing at this year's Wimbledon as he had to undergo knee surgery around a month ago. However, Djokovic's physical prowess on the court is equally as impressive off it. He has made a quick recovery and feels that he will be able to play at his highest level in London. He has dominated at SW19 over the last few years, and he will be eager to win his first title in 2024.

Who is the Dark Horse Among the Men?

While I can see Djokovic picking up his 8th Wimbledon trophy, there are plenty of players with longer odds that cannot be ruled out of any Wimbledon prediction. Some of the main outsiders who are worth your consideration, even as an each-way bet, include the likes of Hubert Kurkacz, Jack Draper, and Alex De Minaur.

Top Tip 2: Bet on Hubert Hurkacz to surprise a few: The Pole's game is very well suited to the grass surface and he has been playing pretty well throughout the year. He made it to a final in Germany recently, where he took Sinner, the world's number one, to two tie-breaks. During that event in Halle, he reminded us all of how good his serve is as he secured no fewer than 77 aces. A big serve is a very useful attribute, and the draw has not been too harsh on him. He is certainly worth considering for an each-way wager.

Who Will Win the Women's Title?

Aryna Sabalenka pulled out because of a shoulder injury while Iga Swiatek is on the rough side of the draw, meaning that things are a lot more open in the women's competition this year. Swiatek is the current favourite, but keep in mind that the Pole has never actually made it beyond the last eight at Wimbledon. Other top players such as Gauff, Jabeur, and Rybakina will fancy their chances of winning the Slam this year, but I am going to back Jabeur.

Top Tip 3: Bet on Jabeur to win: Not too long ago I would have been tossing a coin between Sabalenka and Swiatek for the outright winner market, but Sabalenka is no longer participating while Swiatek has some tough opponents to overcome. Jabeur has made it to the final of the previous two Wimbledons, which tells us that her game is well-suited for grass. Furthermore, the draw has been somewhat kind to her, so she will fully believe that she can go one step further this time.

Who is the Dark Horse Among the Women?

There are a number of other female players who will be quite confident about being able to cause somewhat of an upset in London this year, and this includes the likes of Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Emma Radacanu, and Naomi Osaka. The dark horse among the women that I like the look of most is Pegula.

Top Tip 4: Bet on Pegula to spring a surprise: Pegula is not easy to put away on the grass as her aggressive and flat groundstrokes skid along the surface, making returning the ball much harder than usual. She recently won a grass court event, so she will be heading to Wimbledon with plenty of confidence. Furthermore, she opted to sit out of the French Open, so she should be very fresh for her assault on the Wimbledon title.

Below is a summary of my top Wimbledon tips:

Outright Men's WinnerNovak DjokovicHas a lot of experience of winning at Wimbledon and seems fully fit to compete for his eighth titleodds of 4.00
Male Dark HorseHubert HurkaczHe has a huge serve which will cause all types of issues for his opponents on grass>15.00
Outright Women's WinnerOns JabeurHas made it to the previous two finals of Wimbledon and has a favourable draw13.00
Female Dark HorseJessica PegulaHer game is well-suited for grass as her aggressive style of play makes the ball skid off the surface19.00

🏆Wimbledon 2024 Potential Winners

I am now going to take a closer look at some of the top contenders at Wimbledon this year. I will take you through their playing characteristics as well as how they have fared in 2024 - all useful information to know when you are considering placing a bet on Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic has managed to pick up no fewer than 24 Grand Slam titles to date, which is a total that I do not think will ever be beaten. Cushion acrylic is obviously his favourite surface as he has won the Australian Open a total of ten times, but he is just as good on grass as he has eight Wimbledon titles to his name. He has very few weaknesses, while you will struggle to find a player with a backhand as good as his. His 2024 season has been very lean though as he has not won a single event, but I can see him putting that right here.

Jannik Sinner

The Italian is now ranked as the best player in the world, and his success can be put down to his fitness levels, quality forehands, and very solid service game. He also has the ability to hit the ball really hard and accurately, causing a lot of issues for whoever he comes up against. He won the Australian Open at the start of the year and has gone on to win three other titles since.

Carlos Alcaraz

He is only 21 years old but he has already won three Grand Slams - the US Open in 2022, Wimbledon in 2023, and the French Open in 2024. If he can steer clear of injuries and play for as long as Djokovic has, then I can see him winning over 20 Grand Slams. His forehand is his main weapon, and he uses it to devastating effect all over the court. Furthermore, he has a drop shot which is really hard for his opponents to read.

Iga Swiatek

The Pole is the world number one in women's tennis, and she has been sitting at the top of the rankings for quite some time now. Her success on the court can be attributed to how aggressive she is - she will always attack her opponents instead of looking to defend. Additionally, she is not one of those players who hits many unforced errors, which is obviously something that comes in handy. She has had a fine 2024 season as she has won five titles in total, which includes winning at Roland Garros. However, grass is not her favourite surface and she has got a tough draw to boot.

Coco Gauff

The young American has picked up one Grand Slam, but she definitely has the skill and temperament to pick up more big titles in the coming years. Out of all the women on the circuit, she is the most athletic, which enables her to race across the court with little hardship. Her opponents always need to work extremely hard in order to get any points off of her. Furthermore, she has plenty of strength, so any weak shots from her opponents are quickly punished. She has managed to win one title this year, while she has also made it to the last four of the Australian Open and the French Open.

Ons Jabeur

The Tunisian has yet to win a Grand Slam title, but she has made it to three finals, which means that she is not a novice when it comes to going deep in big tennis events. She always tries to vary her style of play so that she can bamboozle whoever it is that she is playing against. Furthermore, she loves to make use of slice shots and drop shots to win her points and does not particularly care about the surface on which the competition is being played on. I think that she has a really good chance of winning her first Grand Slam at Wimbledon.

🔮 Wimbledon Predictions

Before you dive in and start doing any sort of Wimbledon betting, I recommend that you take some time to read what others are thinking - even if, ultimately, you do not agree with what is being said. Thus, with this in mind, below you can find my predictions for Wimbledon 2024.

Wimbledon 2024 - Outright Men's WinnerWimbledon will take place between the 1st and 14th of July, and this is who I think will go on and win the men's event:
Ladies Singles Final - Wimbledon 2024Saturday will see the 130th iteration of the Wimbledon Ladies' Singles Championship final, and the 56th such match of the open era. This will pit the women’s seventh seed and French Open finalist Jasmine Paolini against Barbora Krejčíková, who is ranked 32nd in the world and looking to win her second Grand Slam title.

⚡ Best Wimbledon Betting Sites?

When you are betting on Wimbledon or any other big tennis event, some top advice is to always make sure that you are placing your wagers at the best Wimbledon betting sites. Therefore, below I am going to give you some more information regarding five of the best betting sites for tennis bettors in the Emerald Isle.

DirectionBet only came into being in 2023, but it is already the overall best bookmaker for betting on Wimbledon. This is because they do not skimp on their odds, and they have more than two hundred markets available for each match. You will not be disappointed by their promotions, banking options, and customer care team either.

If you decide to sign up with DirectionBet, then they will match your first deposit 100% up to the value of €100. Other promos that they have running include reload bonuses and free bets between the values of €25 and €50. As always, when it comes to promotions, make sure that you read the T&Cs that apply.

If you want to find out more about this bookmaker, then feel free to check out our Directionbet review.

Whenever you are betting on Wimbledon or any other big sporting event, it is important that you do so with some of the best odds, which is where LegendPlay comes into the equation. You will struggle to find a bookie that can outshine LegendPlay when it comes to Wimbledon betting odds. You will not find the same number of markets as there are at DirectionBet, but there is still plenty to bet on.

Those who opt to open an account with LegendPlay can claim a huge bonus as they will happily match your first deposit 100% up to the value of €250. They also have accumulator boosts, reload bonuses, and odds boosts available to their regular punters.

Want to find out more? You can do exactly that by giving our LegendPlay review a read.

Betalright was only released to Irish sports bettors in 2024, but I have already seen enough of them to be sure that they will be around for many more years to come. Many new bookmakers are a bit tight when it comes to the odds that they offer for big tennis events such as Wimbledon, but this is not the case with Betalright. Market variation is not an issue here either as they have all the tennis markets that you would expect. Depositing and withdrawing money is easy as they also offer all of the most popular banking methods.

They know that top bonus offers can go a long way to sucking in new punters, which is why your first deposit will be 100% matched up to the value of €250. Accumulator boosts, cashback bonuses, and reload bonuses are also on offer to those who register here.

Check out our in-depth Betalright review if you would like to find out more.

Nowadays, many Irish sports bettors like to wait until a sporting event has started before they go ahead and put their hard-earned money on an outcome. You will find that many bookmakers have live betting platforms, but 20Bet has one of my favourites. Their live betting interface is easy on the eye and simple to navigate, while they offer plenty of betting options with competitive odds. To top things off, they have a live stream feature.

If you decide to sign up at 20Bet, then they will see that your first deposit is matched 100% up to €100. They do not shy away from offering risk-free bets, odds boosts, and reload bonuses, so check out their promotions page regularly. As always, though, please remember to read the T&Cs that apply.

Those who want to find out more can read our 20Bet review.

💸 Best Wimbledon Betting Markets

There are many different Wimbledon betting markets that you can place a bet on, but some are more popular than others. In this section of my guide, I will take you through some of the best Wimbledon betting markets.

Outright Winner/Each Way

Outright winner bets are very simple to come to terms with since all that you have to do is try to predict the player who you think will go on and claim the title. If you think that a player will go on a do well in a competition but you are not 100% sure that they have what it takes to win the title, then you can consider slapping down an each-way wager. With this type of bet, you will get a smaller payout if your selected player makes the final but loses.

Match Betting

If you do not want to bet on someone to go on and lift the title, then you can put your money on a player to win a certain match. This bet type has become very popular due to its simplicity. If they go on and win their match, you will win your wager. If they go on to lose their match, your bet is also lost.

Live Betting

Live betting is when you bet on a particular outcome after the first ball has been served. There are many top live tennis betting options, and some of my favourite ones can be seen below:

  • Who will win the following game?
  • Who will land the next point?
  • How many games will be played in a set?
  • Who will be the next player broken?

Handicap Betting

Sometimes there will be a match where the odds on offer are just not worth your time and effort - the odds for the favourite are so low meaning there are decent returns to be had, while the odds for the underdog are so high because their chances of actually winning are slim to none. When a big mismatch occurs, you can opt to level the playing field by handing a player a set disadvantage or advantage. For instance, if you were to give Sinner a -1.5 set disadvantage, he would have to win the match by two sets.

🏅 Past Wimbledon Winners

Those who have seen plenty of success in past editions of a tournament such as Wimbledon will know exactly what it takes in order to enjoy more success.
