Match prediction 42 of 48 of our Rugby World Cup 2023 betting series.
Steven's prediction accuracy 2023: ✔️ 85.14%.
On Saturday, the 14th of October, rugby fans will be treated to the second quarter-final of the Rugby World Cup 2023: Ireland v New Zealand. The first whistle at the Stade de France will be at 8 p.m.
Our man in the middle will be Waynes Barnes, with the touch judges being Matthew Carley and Christophe Ridley. The all-important role from the TMO bunker will be taken up by Tom Foley.
This really will be a clash of the titans as two of the best teams in world rugby fight to qualify for the semi-finals. Head Coach of New Zealand, Ian Foster has already started playing mind games in the press, declaring the All Blacks as underdogs against Andy Farrell's Ireland. Historically speaking, that doesn't seem the case, given that New Zealand have won 30 of the 36 tests since their first encounter in 1905. Will this prove to be the case on the day, however? Let's find out with my Ireland v New Zealand prediction analysis.

🔍 Ireland v New Zealand Winner Prediction
The reputation of the All Blacks may have been undisputed in the past, but can that viewpoint be upheld, going into this game? Ireland are currently first in the world in the world rankings, and New Zealand only find themselves in fourth. Furthermore, the Irish managed to finish top of Pool B with 19 points compared to the Kiwis finishing second in Pool A, behind hosts France, on 15 points.
The big deciding factor between the two sides could be injuries: Ireland have James Lowe, Mack Hansen, and James Ryan waiting in the wings with uncertainty about whether they will be fit to play on Saturday. On the other hand, the All Blacks may end up without Tyrel Lomax after a ligament injury after their match against Uruguay.
Irish fans must be thinking that this will be their year, as they have been the top team in world rugby for over a year. I can see New Zealand having something to say about that, meaning that this will be one of the hardest-fought matches of this year's Rugby World Cup. I believe our picture of the eventual winner will start to emerge in the last 20 minutes of the game, but having to pick a winner at this stage, I am predicting the Irish to win by nine points.
✔️ Ireland v New Zealand Betting Tips
1️⃣ Match Winner: Ireland to Win
I think Irish fans will be smiling from ear to ear after this one, and given the odds for this match, I would be happy to have a punt on Ireland to win at 1.75 at Betway.
2️⃣ Handicap Winner: Ireland to Win (-3.5)
This one, for me, is going to be a nine-point game. I think we will see a close 60 minutes, but the Irish will kick into top gear after that. With my thinking, Ireland to win (-3.5) at 2.05 at TonyBet Sports seems a good bet for me.
