The first Pool B game of the Rugby World Cup 2023 will be the turn of Ireland v Romania on Saturday, the 9th of September. Kick-off will be a 2.30 p.m. IST at the Stade de Bordeaux.

As much as I have to give credit to Romania for reclaiming some of their former prestige and earning a place at this year's Rugby World Cup, I can not look past this being an easy Irish win. Even resting some of their veteran players, I can see the Men in Green trumping the Balkan team by at least 42 points.

Yes, Ireland are my pick to win this one, but are even the best odds of Ireland to win at 1.001 at BoyleSports worth the effort? Not even close. Even to grab an extra €1 return, you would have to spend €1000, which is a stake I would personally never look at gambling - there are no guarantees in rugby!
2️⃣ Handicap Winner: Romania to Win (+60.5)
The only odds in which I am interested for Ireland v Romania are for the handicap market. Seeing as I've given the Irish a 42-point margin in my prediction, I think I would be tempted to have a flutter on Romania to win (+60.5) at 2.05 at Betway. It's still an achievable margin for Ireland to reach, given that Ireland's first game against Romania ended 60-0, but I think Stejarii may have enough in them to stem the bleeding and prevent such a heavy whitewash.
