🔍 Australia v Portugal Winner Prediction

There may be no history between the two sides to date, but there is a lot we can analyse to find out our Australia v Portugal match winner. Neither team are going to get to the knock-out stages, but this must be the most humiliating Rugby World Cup for Australia. Eddie Jones's strategy of leaving the most experienced players at home and playing youngsters has blown up in his face, and he has, in atypical Jones fashion, publicly stated his fault in the Aussies' Rugby World Cup 2023 campaign.

That being said, Australia can still claim to have won one of their last three RWC games, having outclassed Georgia in the first round, 35-15 before being snuffed out by the likes of Fiji in the second round, 15-22 and Wales in their third match, 40-6. Portugal, on the other hand, have played two matches, losing against Wales, 28-8 and scraping a draw against Georgia, 18-18.

The Aussies can also boast - although I use that term in the loosest sense for a tier-one side - that they are tenth in the world compared to the Portuguese in 16th, so that's another tick in the box for a Wallabies win.

All in all, I can't see this being much of a match, but I think the Australians may eke out a good enough win to end their campaign by 23 points.

✔️ Australia v Portugal Betting Tips

1️⃣ Match Winner: Australia to Win

The Wallabies are going to win in my opinion, sure, but odds of Australia to win at 1.04 at BoyleSports are not worth my time. Let's move on.

2️⃣ Handicap Winner: Australia to Win (-0.5)

23 points is my prediction for by how many the Wallabies will take this home, so I would be tempted to back Australia to win (-22) at 1.91 at BoyleSports. With how the Aussies have performed recently, especially though, this is by no means a guarantee. Whatever you bet on this game, remember to keep it fun. There are no prizes in life for irresponsible gambling and you will often find yourself disappointed if you bet outside your means.
