The last match of week three of the Rugby World Cup will see Wales v Australia in another Pool C clash. The game will kick off at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais at 8 p.m. IST on Sunday, the 24th of September.
The match officials will be referee Wayne Barnes, assisted by Luke Pearce and Christophe Ridley. The TMO for the day will be Tom Foley.
The Welsh have been playing the Wallabies since 1908. They have played 45 tests together, with Wales winning 13, Australia winning 31, and one ending up all square. The last time they went head-to-head, it was a close encounter of 39-34 to the Aussies. History points to another win for Australia, but do the Welsh have anything up their sleeves to turn defeat into rousing victory? Let's find out by getting into my Wales v Australia prediction.

🔍 Wales v Australia Winner Prediction
After the demise of Wayne Pivac as Head Coach for Wales, Warren Gatland returned to this former role and started preparing for this Rugby World Cup. It must be said that the team has not done well under Gatland; they have struggled to build any viable momentum and challenge any match with much conviction. Having said that, Dave Rennie was also replaced as the Wallabies' Head Coach, with Eddie Jones fulfilling the spot as a second revenant to the top job and having worse results. For all of his talk in press conferences prior to the start of the competition, Australia's RWC chances are in tatters. Defeat for the Aussies would see them fail to qualify to the knock-out stages.
World Cup form tells us that Wales are two up in two matches, having defeated Fiji in round one, 32-26 and Portugal in the second, 28-8. The Aussies, on the other hand, have only captured one moment of glory, having pushed aside Georgia in their first round, 35-15 but having succumbed to an impressive Fiji in round two, 15-22.
Both teams need this win - Wales would guarantee themselves a spot in the knock-outs regardless of the result in their fourth match - but only one can grab the big W. This is going to be a remarkably close match from two, arguably, lacklustre rugby teams, but I think that Wales will pip Australia to the post and win by five points.
✔️ Wales v Australia Betting Tips
1️⃣ Match Winner: Wales to Win
It's always nice to see long odds for a favourite, so with the way I am predicting things ending for the Welsh, I would be happy to bet on Wales to win at 1.93 at TonyBet Sports.
2️⃣ Handicap Winner: Wales to Win (-3.5)
I think Wales have a fighting chance of pulling off the win by five points in this game; therefore my recommendation would be Wales to win (-3.5) at 2.11 at TonyBet Sports. This will be a very close game, however, so one poor decision from the Welsh on which the Aussies can capitalise could be all that it takes for you to go from laughing all the way to cash in your bet to losing your stake entirely. Think wisely about what you are willing to bet, and remember to gamble responsibly.
