Match prediction 48 of 48 of our Rugby World Cup 2023 betting series.
Steven's prediction accuracy 2023: ✔️ 82.05%.
Here we are at the culmination of the Rugby World Cup 2023: the final. This year's grand final will be one of the biggest rivalries in world rugby, New Zealand v South Africa. Kick off at the Stade de France will be 8 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, the 28th of October).
Wayne Barnes will be officiating this final, with Karl Dickson and Matthew Carley as the assistant referees. Tom Foley will be the TMO for the day.
This will be a historic match, with the winner becoming the first ever team to lift the Webb Ellis Cup for the fourth time. So far, the teams have played each other 105 times - the All Blacks having won 62 times to the Springboks' 39 times (four draws making up the difference). Are the All Blacks looking like they will claim their third Rugby World Cup out of five or will the 'Boks go back-to-back, as reigning champions? Let's dig into my last write-up with my New Zealand v South Africa prediction.

🔍 New Zealand v South Africa Winner Prediction
When people talk about rugby union, their thoughts often drift towards New Zealand's All Blacks. It is the nation of the haka and one of the best win records in any sport. They have won three Rugby World Cups to date, and a fourth could be in their fingertips in just 80 minutes' time. Under Ian Foster's tenure in the build-up to this World Cup, pundits may not have given them a hope in hell, but they have turned up in good form and are deserving of a place in the final.
Having said that, South Africa are the current world champions and have squeezed their way to top of the world rankings. They do things no other team in international rugby have done before - such as their unconventional seven forwards and one back on their bench, compared to the traditional five-three split. If any team can steal glory from the Kiwis in this final, South Africa seem first in the queue.
We have the best sides in the world competing, and this is going to be a brutal affair. For my prediction, I am going to side with New Zealand. Both sides will want to close down the other, but I can see the All Blacks playing the cleverer game: they will pinpoint the Springbok's backs and look to wear them down, giving the South Africans trouble with few replacements on that front available. After they have done this, the edges of the try line will seemingly open up, leaving room at their favourite places on the pitch: the opposition corners. In terms of score, I think New Zealand will do the business by three points.
✔️ New Zealand v South Africa Betting Tips
1️⃣ Match Winner: New Zealand to Win
This will be an incredibly close game, so I am happy to see the bookies offering competitive odds for the match winner. I would be happy to have a punt on New Zealand to win at 1.83 at Dachbet Sports, as I believe this offers a good potential return, should my selection turn out to be right.
2️⃣ Handicap Winner: New Zealand to Win (-1.5)
With how close a game this is going to be, I don't think I would have a bet on the handicap odds. Nevertheless, for those that are interested, I think the best option is New Zealand to win (-1.5) at 1.90 at Dachbet Sports.
