Despite a more lacklustre second half from the Banner men, the secured their win by two points at the sound of the final whistle.

Turning our attention to the Rossies, the Roscommon squad stormed into the Semi-Finals against Sligo with a convincing win of 0-23 to 0-11. Roscommon held a comfortable lead throughout the majority of the match, with their expertise and skill ramping up in the third quarter. Their 12-point win eased them into the tournament and made them the first team to go saunter into a provincial final in 2022. It was also the squad’s first win at the Sligo venue, Markievicz Park, since 2004.

The Rossies had almost a month to recover before the Connacht Final, and it was going to be a tough fight from the off. Galway were supercharged with confidence going into this match after a huge 23-point winning margin. Ultimately, Roscommon narrowly missed out on the title by just three points and a final score of 2-16. Most of the Roscommon work was put in in the second half of the game, with Galway leading at this point 2-07 to 0-08.
