✨ Cork vs Mayo Prediction
What a weekend gaelic football fans have to look forward to over the course of the 27th and 28th of June. To kick things off, we are going to give you our Cork v Mayo prediction. This is the first game of the weekend at GAA HQ, and it could be the most intriguing of the lot. Both these sides will see reaching the quarter-finals as bonus territory this year, while both will be keen to extend their seasons and reach the last four of this year’s All-Ireland Football Championship.
Cork has perhaps been the more impressive of the two sides thus far, beating Meath and Donegal in the All-Ireland series to reach the last 8, while Mayo have beaten Monaghan and Meath but lost out narrowly to Tyrone in a titanic tussle in Omagh. Cork showed great resilience and fight to come back in both their wins over Donegal and Meath, reeling in Donegal from seven points down and coming back from eight points down against Meath. That should certainly give confidence to John Cleary’s team as they head to Croke Park searching for their first win at Croke Park in the championship since 2013. Their running game, their power at midfield in the form of Ian Maguire and Colm O’Callaghan and the scoring form of Steven Sherlock are good examples of why many are tipping Cork to reach the All-Ireland semi-final, but we think a different result is on the cards.
Mayo also showed great fight to claw back a seven-point gap at half-time to seal their place at Croke Park. Sure, the controversial red card awarded to Ronan Jones helped, but the tide did already seem to be turning towards the Mayo men at that stage of the second-half. This is Mayo’s first championship visit to Croke Park since 2023, and the green and red will be keen to make up for lost time. The team’s pace and athleticism seem tailor-made for Croke Park, and that speed allied with the scoring threat they now pose in a broken and chaotic match means our Cork v Mayo All-Ireland prediction is for a Mayo victory.
Cork may struggle to contain Mayo if the game opens up and the Mayo crowd becomes involved, and that is what we see happening. It should be close, with lots of brilliant football on show between two sides looking to join the top table, but we think Mayo can come out on top with a couple of points to spare.

⚡⚡ Cork vs Mayo Betting Tips
At this stage of our Cork v Mayo quarter-final prediction page, we are now going to give you three Cork v Mayo betting tips that may prove useful, especially if you have any free bets to use on GAA this summer.
Remember, before betting on any match throughout the championship, why not first check out our Sportsbook reviews page? Here, extra information about many of the best betting sites can be found.
- Tip 1: Mayo to Win by 1-3 points: The fact Mayo’s victories in the 2026 All-Ireland series have been by 1 and 3 points, means it is hard to look past another narrow Mayo win if you fancy Andy Moran’s team to come out on top. The recent history of the team suggests they struggle to put teams away due to their defensive frailties, and we think it will be close again against Cork at Croke Park. We do fancy Mayo to come out on top, and if you agree, you can back Mayo at a price of 4.50 with BoyleSports to win by 1-3 points on June 27th.
- Tip 2: Kobe McDonald to score a goal anytime: The new star of Gaelic Football has hit 1-17 in the championship so far, and if he is given the right kind of ball, he looks all set to mark his first Mayo match in Croke Park with a big performance. His scoring ability on top of his skills with the ball mean he will be one of the main scoring threats for Mayo as they look to book a spot in this year’s semi-finals.
To back McDonald to score a goal at any time during the match, you can get a price of 2.63 with BoyleSports.
- Tip 3: Ryan O’Donoghue to be awarded Man of the Match: The Belmullet man was a major driving force behind their comeback against Meath. Alongside Enda Hession, Kobe McDonald and Jordan Flynn O’Donoghue showed the kind of performance and leadership the team is going to need in Croke Park. He hit 4 points, and if Mayo are going to win, O’Donoghue is a player the team is going to need to perform.
You can get a price of 5.00 with BoyleSports on O’Donoghue being named man of the match.
🎰 Cork Squad Form
Cork have reached this stage by beating Meath and Donegal. Steven Sherlock has been a major reason for that, hitting 0-23 points in those two wins. Their running game from deep from the likes of Luke Fahy, Ian Maguire, Tommy Walsh and Brian O’Driscoll is a major weapon for them, while they will have the services of towering midfielder Colm O’Callaghan once again after his ban against Donegal.
🧨 Mayo Squad Form
Mayo showed resolve against Meath to come back and win by three points to book their place in this match at Croke Park. Enda Hession, Ryan O’Donoghue, Jordan Flynn and Kobe McDonald were instrumental in the win, although Flynn had to go off before the end of the match. Their defence needs to be looked at in terms of blocking up direct runners through the middle, but Mayo will be full of confidence heading to Croker for the first time since 2023.
🥇 Cork vs Mayo Predicted Lineups
In terms of the Cork and Mayo line-ups, below you can see the line-ups both used in their last games against Donegal and Meath, respectively. Colm O’Callaghan is available once more and could come back into Cork’s midfield, while Tommy Conroy made a big impact for Mayo off the bench and might be rewarded in the wide-open space of Croke Park.
