Tyrone and Mayo meet in Round 2A of the 2026 All Ireland SFC on Sunday, June 14th, at Healy Park in Omagh. RTÉ will be broadcasting the match live for those that can’t make it to Omagh for the big match.
Ahead of the match, we will provide you with the latest odds, our Tyrone v Mayo prediction and everything else you need to know before the ball is thrown in at Healy Park, so read on as we get ready for Tyrone v Mayo.
🧨 Tyrone vs Mayo Prediction
There is no doubt that this has all the ingredients to be the standout tie of Round 2A. Both sides are capable of sublime, incisive football, as we have seen in their matches to date, but they are both prone to defensive lapses and periods of inconsistency, which meant neither made it through to their provincial deciders this year.
This game could descend into a chaotic, end-to-end affair in Omagh, and for all their issues defensively, Mayo are still favoured to come out on top in a game that evolves that way, so our Tyrone v Mayo All-Ireland SFC prediction is for an away Mayo win. That win will book their place in the quarter-finals of this year’s championship, the furthest stage they have been at since 2023.
For a team that struggled with the new rules last year, Mayo have certainly found two-point shooting a whole lot easier this year. Whether they need to work on blending their two-point shooting with some more nuanced old-style attacking techniques can certainly be argued as can their need to work on a defensive structure. Their inability to stem wave after wave of opposition attacks has been all too prevalent against both Roscommon and Monaghan, with their midfield also wiped out on occasions in those games and their defensive frailties laid bare.
Whether Tyrone have the personnel to take advantage of those Mayo deficiencies remains to be seen. They worked their way through Roscommon with deliberate tactics, waiting for the best opportunity to score, but if Mayo can upset that rhythm and sort out their defence somehow, it will be interesting to see how Tyrone can match Mayo in an end-to-end contest.
Ordinarily, home advantage would be a plus for Tyrone, but Mayo seem to perform better away from Castlebar these days, so travelling to Omagh will hold no fear for Andy Moran’s team. In fact, both sides met in Omagh in 2025 during the group stage, where Mayo were coming off a loss to Cavan. On that day Mayo had lots of questions to answer, and they did so brilliantly to win by seven points. They may have won against Monaghan, but that second half has again raised questions about this Mayo team. They are used to that, and Gaelic Football fans are used to them responding with a big performance. The big question ahead of June 14th is, will it happen again?
🏆 OUR PREDICTION: MAYO TO WIN 🏆
🎯 Tyrone vs Mayo Betting Odds
Given the fact that there are still question marks surrounding both teams, there is very little surprise in the proximity between them in the latest Tyrone v Mayo betting odds.
Both sides are capable of producing brilliant football at times, but they are both capable of being wildly inconsistent within matches also, hence the reluctance of both sets of fans to be too excited about their chances this year.
Tyrone can currently be backed at around 1.84 with DirectionBet, while slight underdogs Mayo can be found at a price of around 2.88 with BoyleSports.

🔮 Tyrone vs Mayo Betting Tips
Whether you are looking for some of the best Tyrone v Mayo bets available or looking to make use of any free bet offers for GAA you may have, we have you covered in this part of our match preview.
Below we have selected three Tyrone v Mayo betting tips that will hopefully be useful in your betting journey.
Remember, before betting on this match or any GAA match throughout the championship, why not first check out our Sportsbook reviews page? Here, extra information about many of the best betting sites can be found.
- Tip 1: Mayo to Win: Mayo are slight underdogs heading to Omagh, but we fancy them to just about get over the line against Tyrone. They always seem to perform best when their backs are against the wall, and even though this tie isn’t knockout, they have a lot of solutions they need to find to some pertinent problems. We think they can answer some of them and book their place in the quarter-finals, and if you agree, you can get a price of 2.88 with BoyleSports on Mayo getting the win.
- Tip 2: Kobe McDonald to score a goal anytime: The fact that Kobe is so important to this Mayo team already highlights what a player he is and what a loss he is going to be to Gaelic Football when he embarks on his professional AFL career later this year. So much of the good stuff Mayo have produced in an attacking sense has come through the Crossmolina man, with the forward hitting 1-10 in his two championship matches to date. If Mayo are going to raise some green flags in Omagh, it’s hard to see them doing so without Kobe’s input. To back McDonald to score anytime during the match, you can get a price of 3.10 with BoyleSports.
- Tip 3: Mayo to win by 1-6 points: While we think Mayo will get the win in Omagh, we do not expect there to be much between the teams by the end. Both of Tyrone’s matches have been closely run affairs, losing to Armagh by a point and beating Roscommon by the same margin. Mayo, for their part, also beat Monaghan by the slimmest of differences, and we think it will go right down to the wire again on June 14th. If you agree, you can get a price of 3.60 with DirectionBet.
🪄 Tyrone Squad Form
Tyrone had been written off ahead of their Ulster preliminary round tie with Armagh, but they took Armagh to extra time and certainly showed that they were not going to be push-overs for anyone in this championship. They then headed to Roscommon to face the Connacht champions who had defeated Connacht’s big two in Mayo and Galway to win the provincial title. Once again they were underdogs for many, but they produced a tactical, methodical performance to book their place in Round 2A. Ethan Jordan, Eoin McElholm and veteran Mattie Donnelly contributed 2-11 to Tyrone’s total, while Brian Kennedy, Seanie O’Donnell and Ciarán Daly were all ferocious in their middle-third work.
✨ Mayo Squad Form
Mayo had a lot to improve after their hammering by Roscommon in their Connacht semi-final, and for the first half against Monaghan, the work done by Andy Moran and his coaching staff seemed to be working as they raced into an eleven-point lead at half-time. Some old failings of Mayo returned, however, and the team struggled to cope with the momentum that Monaghan generated in their second-half fightback. Once again some of the new players stood up for the team, with Kobe McDonald scoring 1-4 and Darragh Beirne hitting 0-4 points. Hugh O’Loughlin certainly added to the team around the middle third, but finding some midfield options must be high on Moran’s agenda ahead of the Tyrone match.
🥇 Tyrone vs Mayo Predicted Lineups
