💯 Connacht Football Championship Winner – Outright (2025)
The 2025 Connacht Championship will once again see Galway enter proceedings as the defending champions from 2024. Padraig Joyce’s men made it all the way to the All-Ireland Final in July but ultimately fell short from bringing Sam Maguire back to Connacht for the first time in 23 years. The Connacht Championship has become one of the most competitive Provincial Championships on the GAA calendar in recent times, and 2025 should be no different with Mayo, Galway and Roscommon all striving for success, with Sligo also now making progress.

✅ Connacht Football Betting Tips
Tip 1 – Back Mayo to win.
There is usually not much to choose from in the Connacht football Championship betting between Mayo and Galway as both counties vie for favouritism in the Championship. Kevin McStay’s side have not won the Nestor Cup since 2021 so will be very keen to get back to winning ways in 2025 having watched their biggest rivals win the provincial crown for the last three years in a row. If you want to have a bet on Mayo regaining the Connacht Championship in 2025 Boylesports are currently offering odds of 2.38.
Tip 2 – Back Galway to Win the 2025 Connacht Championship.
The Tribesmen have been the dominant force in Connacht recently winning the last three Championships and reaching two of the last three All-Ireland Finals. Padraig Joyce has put together a very classy outfit over the last couple of years and the only thing that seems to be missing is a national title either in the National League or the All-Ireland Championship. 2025 could be a make-or-break year for the Galway manager who has made no secret of his desire to bring Sam Maguire to Galway during his tenure in charge. To back Galway for the 2025 Connacht Championship you can get odds of 2.38 with Boylesports.
Tip 3 – Galway to win the 2025 All-Ireland.
Galway may feel they have left an All-Ireland behind them over the last few years after reaching the deciders in 2022 and 2024 but 2025 may be the year they can win their first title since 2001. If they can manage to key men like Damien Comer, Shane Walsh and Sean Kelly fit and injury free for most of the year next year there is no doubt that Galway have a squad that can lift the All-Ireland title. With question marks surrounding some of their main rivals maybe 2025 can be the year that Galway can lift Sam Maguire once again. If Backing Galway for the 2025 All-Ireland Championship interests you, Boylesports are offering odds of 8.50.

📈 Connacht Football Championship Betting Markets
Now that we have explained the best free bet promotions and offers available with the best betting sites around, it is time to look at some of the most popular betting markets available to GAA fans.
Outright Betting
The outright betting market is one of the most popular betting markets amongst GAA fans because it is generally a very easy bet to navigate through. All you must do with this bet type is simply select who you think is going a competition. For example, if you think Galway can win a 4th consecutive Connacht title you can bet on Galway to win the 2025 Connacht Championship, if they win it, you will win your bet but if they don’t you will lose your stake.
The Over/Under Market
The over/under betting market offered by bookies can refer to various things. With this bet type you can gamble on the likes of points scored, goals scored, and bookings received during a match being either over or under a predetermined number set by each individual sportsbook. For example, if you bet on there being over 2 goals in a match between Mayo and Leitrim and 3 goals are scored during the game you will win your bet.
Odd/Even Final Points Total
This is another popular betting type for GAA punters because of its simplicity and how fun it is to do. With the odd/even points total bet all you have to do is select whether you think the combined points tally of both teams at the end of a match is going to be an even number or an odd number. An example of this bet is if you gambled on the final points tally in a Galway vs Sligo match being even, but the final score was 1-16 – 0-14, you would lose your bet because the final points tally is 33.
Handicap Betting
The handicap betting market can be quite a useful one if you are having a bet on the Connacht Championship because of the mismatches that can occur between some of the powerhouse counties in the province and some of the weaker teams. For example, if Mayo are playing London. Mayo would usually be expected to beat London by a big scoreline but by betting on the game using the handicap betting market you can give London a points head start on the stronger team, thus creating a more competitive betting market for you to enjoy.
Total Points Over/Under
The over/under total points market gives bettors the opportunity to bet on whether they think the total combined points scored by both teams during a match will be either over or under the points threshold preset by the betting site. For example, if a bookmaker sets a points tally of 30.5 for a match between Galway and Mayo and you think more will be scored you can bet on over 30.5 points being scored. If 32 points are scored you will win your bet.
📅Connacht Football Championship Schedule 2025

📌 Connacht Football Championship Format
The Connacht Championship is a straight knockout competition involving the seven teams that participate. These teams are the five counties of Connacht, Mayo, Galway, Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim along with New York and London. Three quarter finals take place in the competition, followed by two semi-finals and then the decider to see which county will lift the Nestor Cup. The winner and losing finalist in the Connacht Championship each qualify directly for the All-Ireland SFC Group Stage, a format that was introduced to the Championship in 2023.
🏁 History - Connacht GAA Football Senior Championship
The Connacht Senior Football Championship is organised by the Connacht Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and has been played annually since its inception in 1888.
