The top spot in Group 3 will be determined when Tyrone take on Cork of either O’Connor Park Tullamore or O’Moore Park Portlaoise depending on how the Joe McDonagh final goes between Laois and Offaly. As of writing this match has not taken place. The match takes place on Saturday 15th June at 3:00pm and will be live on GAA Go worldwide. Cork come into the game with a 100% record in the All-Ireland group phase to this point defeating Clare in round 1 and shocking Donegal in round 2. Tyrone have 1 victory and 1 defeat so far in this ‘All Ireland’ group phase losing to Donegal in round 1 and defeating Clare comfortably last time out.
🏆 Tyrone vs Cork All Ireland Championship Prediction
Tyrone needs a victory to ensure they get a top spot and would need Donegal to fail to win versus Clare so that Tyrone can finish top on the head to head rule with Cork. Cork only needs a draw to guarantee a top spot for them with not many seeing that possibility when the groups were drawn. A defeat for either side will not eliminate them from the championship as both sides have beaten Clare who currently sit on 0 points and face the difficult prospect of Donegal.
Donegal will likely beat Clare taking away any chance of top spot for Tyrone but victory over in-form Cork could ignite Tyrone in this years championship, in what has been a mixed year for Tyrone both in league and championship.
To determine who will win is a difficult one to call and if you asked before the group stage began I would think Tyrone would be easy victors, but Cork has shown their quality so far in the group stage. They overcame Munster rivals Clare in a close game and scored 3 goals at crucial times in the game to overcome Donegal by 2 points.
Cork are qualified to play in the next phase of the All Ireland Championship which would have been their main goal at the beginning of the group phase as they would not have been expected to secure top spot. Cork will be guaranteed a top spot if they win or draw versus Tyrone at the weekend, but they may take their foot off the gas as qualification to the preliminary Quarter Finals is already secured. A large Cork crowd will be expected at this one as it will be a double header with the hurling preliminary quarter finals where Cork hurlers meet the winners of Offaly and Laois.
Tyrone got an important victory versus Clare last time out but their qualification is not set in stone. If they lose to Cork, and Clare is victorious versus Donegal, then score difference could come into play with multiple sides locked on 2 points. Tyrone needs this victory more than Cork so I expect them to be victorious this weekend.
Verdict: Tyrone to Win.
Tyrone vs Cork Performance Analysis
A good way of looking at the performance analysis for this one is looking at how both sides fared statistically when they played All Ireland contenders Donegal in round 1 and 2 respectively. The main statistics to look at are Turnovers lost to see how many times a team loses possession and shot efficiency to see how often a team scores from their shots.
Last time out against Donegal in Pairc Ui Rinn Cork had 17 turnovers lost compared to Donegal’s 19. They scored 12 times out of 23 shots which is a shot efficiency of 52%. Tyrone were more efficient in possession against Donegal than Cork with 10 Turnovers lost. Tyrone took 26 shots versus Donegal and scored 14 which is a shot efficiency of 53%.
💯 Tyrone vs Cork All Ireland SFC Odds
Tyrone are the favourites for this one which is slightly surprising considering Cork’s strong start to this All Ireland group phase. Tyrone’s reputation as the supposed stronger team could be the reason why they are favourites for this one but also as touched upon Tyrone are more to play for in this one than that of Cork.
Cork are qualified whereas Tyrone are still not guaranteed a spot in the next phase of the competition and are fresh off a 14 point victory over Clare, a team Cork beat by only 2 points. Tyrone are coming in at odds around 1.57 whereas Cork are coming in at odds ranging between 2.65 and 2.75. Tyrone have been a hit and miss in 2024 and needs a win against a side in good form like Cork are. Tyrone are the favourites for this one and this can be seen on the bookmakers here betting sites.

✔️ Tyrone vs Cork Betting Tips
Tyrone and Cork is a tough one to call but here are some tips if you want to use your free bets and are unsure how the game will transpire.
Tip 1: Tyrone to Win
Tyrone come into this game knowing that they need a win to qualify out of the group. A defeat would leave their faith out of their own hands so they are in full control of their All Ireland destiny. A draw will guarantee that Tyrone will make it into at least the preliminary Quarter Final while a win could get a head to head and score differences involved to see who gets top spot depending on the result elsewhere in this group.
Cork come into this game already qualified out of the group but a win or a draw guarantees them top spot. A draw would favour both sides as it would mean both would qualify with Cork going straight to the Quarter Final and Tyrone going into the preliminary Quarter Finals.
If Tyrone were to be acceptable of a place in the preliminary quarter finals both sides could play out a draw to keep both happy but I doubt Tyrone would be compliant. They will want to finish top even if that is unlikely as Donegal will be expected to beat Clare so Tyrone will give everything to get the victory here and I think they will achieve that. Boylesports are giving odds of 1.57 for a Tyrone victory this time out.
Tip 2: Tyrone Handicap -2
Both sides gained victories over Clare in the championship so far but these victories have happened in very different ways. Cork were narrow victors over Clare by just 2 points whereas Tyrone were comfortable victors over Munster side Clare with a 14 point margin of victory.
Tyrone lost by 7 to Donegal but this was not as poor a performance as the scoreline suggested with Tyrone facing a Donegal bombardment in the 2nd half that made victory difficult for them. Cork were victorious over Donegal in a shock result to many neutral scoring 3 important goals that allowed them to be victorious by a narrow margin again of 2 points. Cork are involved in narrow games in this year's championships with results looking like they could go either way.
I expect Cork to be involved in another narrow game this time around but I do not think they will get the narrow win this time out. Tyrone will hope to use their experience in high profile Championship games as the 2021 All Ireland Champions to eke out a narrow win against current table toppers Cork. A handicap of -2 for Tyrone seems appropriate as I expect them to win due to the importance of the match for them but it should be a narrow win. You can get odds of 2.20 for this eventuality on 888Sports.
Tip 3: Draw no bet - Tyrone
This tip is an interesting one as it covers you if you are not comfortable going with a straight Tyrone win or a Tyrone handicap win because you are worried the game will end in a draw as that benefits both teams as mentioned above. This is expected to be a narrow game and Cork have scored a total of 4 goals in their last 2 games, and as seen against Donegal those goals kept them in the game as Donegal were superior in point getting but Cork’s goals had a huge effect.
Tyrone are the favourites for this one and I expect them to be victorious but out of all the games this weekend this one could be the one that ends in a draw as they are both evenly matched based on their seasons so far. Betting on Tyrone in the draw no bet has the advantage as if Tyrone wins you win the bet but if the game ends in a draw your stake will be returned. The price is not far from an actual Tyrone win on its own with it being priced at 1.44 on Leovegas Sports, who are pricing a Tyrone win at 1.56.
