Armagh take on Roscommon in the All-Ireland Quarter Final. Armagh finished 1st in their group which gave them this pathway straight to the Quarter final whereas Roscommon finished 3rd in their group so had to play Tyrone in a preliminary Quarter final. Roscommon shocked Tyrone last week in Healy Park winning on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-14 and even leading at half time 0-3 to 0-9. They were excellent in the first half giving them a lead to hang onto but made mistakes in possession in the 2nd half that let Tyrone back into the game but they did enough to get the win. This ‘All Ireland’ Quarter final takes place on Saturday afternoon as part of a double header in GAA Headquarters Croke Park with this game being followed by Dublin v Galway also in the All Ireland quarter final. The match throws in at 16:00 GMT and will be refereed by Monaghan man Martin McNally. The match will be live on GAA Go and is available to view both in Ireland and worldwide. Armagh will be the favourites coming into this as they remained unbeaten in the group phase whereas ROscommon lost twice and both these sides will be desperate to reach the All Ireland semi final as Armagh have not reached that stage since 2005 while Roscommon last reached the semi final in 1991.
🏆 Armagh vs Roscommon All Ireland SFC Prediction
Both these are aiming to reach an All Ireland semi final for the first time in 19 years in Armagh’s case and 33 years in Roscommon's case. Roscommon were the underdogs last time out, and Tyrone were expected to keep up their improving form against the Rossie’s, but this did not transpire. Roscommon took advantage of a poor performance by Tyrone to get the victory but they also put in an excellent performance themselves. They were 0-9 to 0-3 ahead at half time and held on to win by just 2 points. These sides last met in the Allianz National League in 2023. Roscommon were victorious on this occasion on a scoreline of 1-12 to 0-12 helping to contribute to Armagh’s relegation from Division 1 last year. Since this game Armagh have improved drastically. They gained promotion from Division 2, remaining unbeaten in the league phase with 5 wins and 2 draws. They made it to the Ulster final and were seconds away from victory before eventually losing on penalties and were unbeaten in the All Ireland, which booked their place in the All Ireland quarter final. Since their last meeting, Roscommon have gone backwards. They were relegated from Division 1 with 1 win and 1 draw in 7 games and also a score difference of -23. They have lost 3 out of 5 championship games this season but have won their last 2 and could be peaking at the right time. Roscommon will hope to keep their momentum but will find it difficult to get past Armagh, who are in fine form, so I am tipping Armagh to win a tight game.
🔎 Armagh vs Roscommon Performance Analysis
In the All Ireland group phase, Armagh scored a total of 4-45 across 3 games versus Derry, Galway and Westmeath. This is an average of 1.33-15, which can be rounded to 1-15. In these 3 games, Armagh remained unbeaten, scoring 1-12 in a draw with Galway, and scored 0-16 and 3-17 in victories over Westmeath and Derry, respectively. In their 3 group games and last week's All ireland preliminary Quarter final Roscommon scored a total of 4-62 across 4 games, which is an average of 1-15.5 per game which can be rounded to 1-16. In these 4 games, Roscommon won 2 games just like Armagh. Armagh’s scoring total for their 2 victories is 3-33, which is an average of 1.5-16.5, which can be rounded to 2-17. In Roscommon’s 2 victories, they scored 3-34, which is an average of 1.5-17, which can be rounded to 2-17. Based on these averages, this game will be a close one.
💯 Armagh vs Roscommon All Ireland Championship Betting Odds
Armagh are the favourites for this one, which is slightly understandable as they made it all the way to the Ulster final and have also remained unbeaten in the All Ireland to this point. They only lost the Ulster final on penalties after both normal time and extra time was played and won 2 of their group games drawing once. Roscommon lost their only Connacht championship game to Mayo and also lost 2 of their 3 All Ireland group games. Armagh are the favourite for this one, and this can be seen on many of the Irish betting sites.

✔️ Armagh vs Roscommon Betting Tips
Armagh and Roscommon is an interesting one and here are some tips if you are unsure how the game will transpire.
Tip 1: Armagh to Win
Armagh come into this game off the back of finishing 1st palace in their group with victories against Westmeath and Derry, where they were very impressive, scoring 3-17. They finished their group phase with a comeback draw versus Galway that booked their spot straight into the All Ireland Quarter finals. Tyrone are improving in their efficiency in attack and are also improving in defence. This is the perfect combination and will help them progress far in the All Ireland championship if they continue it. Roscommon have done well this year but have slightly struggled for victories. They performed well against Dublin in their opening group game against Dublin and were only 3 points down with 10 minutes to go but conceded 2-3 without reply that resulted in them losing by 12 points despite a decent performance. They were beaten by 2 points in their second game against rivals Mayo, again putting in a good performance but not getting the results. They were victorious versus Cavan in the final group game but conceded 1-20, so in victory, they were not at their best. They were impressive in the first half versus Tyrone, only conceding 3 points, but in the 2nd half, they let Tyrone back into the game with handling errors and were slow coming out with the ball. They struggled over the winning line, but they would still be happy as they booked their place in the All Ireland quarter-final. They are a mixed bag at the moment, putting in good performances in defeat, but they are conceding a large quantity of scores. Armagh are strong in attack, so they will exploit Roscommon if they are not defensively strong. You can back Armagh to win at a price of 1.37 with BetAlright.
Tip 2: Roscommon Handicap +3
Both these sides' scoring averages in the all Ireland to this point predict that this game will be a close one. Armagh average 1-15 and average 2-17 in games they have won in the group phase. Roscommon average 1-16 and also average 2-17 in games they have been victorious in. This would suggest that this game will be a tight affair. Both sides have quality in attack, but Armagh look the stronger on paper, especially with star man Rian O’Neill fit and healthy. I expect Armagh to get the victory in this one and reach their first All Ireland semi final since 2005, but I do believe Roscommon will make it very difficult for Orchard County, and they will not have it all their own way. The handicaps being offered are 2 and 3 points in favour of Armagh. Averages are just a guide, but they do suggest this one will be close, and if Roscommon show up, they could give Armagh a very tight game. Roscommon have had difficulties in Croke Park before and they will need to get over this scar tissue to have a chance on Saturday. You could go with a Roscommon +2 at a price of 2.50 with BoyleSports, but the safer bet would be to have Roscommon +3 at a price of 2.10, and if you have any free bets this handicap could be the way to go.
Tip 3: Rian O’Neill to score a goal anytime
Roscommon have conceded in all but one of their championship matches to this point, with last time out versus Tyrone being the first time they kept a clean sheet. They conceded 1 goal in the Connacht semi final to Mayo, and in the group stages of the All Ireland championship, they conceded 2 to Dublin, 2 to Mayo and 1 to Cavan. They are conceding a lot of scores, and keeping goals out of the net is a huge problem for them at the moment. Armagh scored 4 goals in the group stages, and in the Ulster championship, they scored 3. The combination of Roscommon’s inability to keep the ball out of the net and Armagh’s ability to put the ball in the net makes it highly likely that Armagh will score a goal on Saturday, and they have the ability in attack to achieve this. The most exciting of these forwards is Rian O’Neill. He is certainly one of the best players in the country and will hope to show this in Croke Park. Rian O’Neill to score a goal anytime can be got at BoyleSports at a surprisingly large price of 5.00.
