Connacht Football Betting Tips
The Connacht betting odds for this year’s championship highlight how competitive the 2026 Connacht SFC should be. To help with your betting adventure given how competitive it should be, here are a few Connacht betting tips that will hopefully help you navigate your way through the 2026 Connacht fixtures.
Tip 1 – Galway to win the 2026 Connacht Championship
Galway go into this year’s competition as 4 time defending champions and will be confident of adding a 5th to that list. They ended their league campaign with 3 wins out of 7 matches, avoiding relegation by beating Dublin in the last round of games. Padraig Joyce has unearthed a few more young players to bolster his squad, with the likes of Oisin Mac Donncha and Shane McGrath starring during the league, and with Paul Conroy also back, Joyce will be confident of launching not just an assault on Connacht but also the All-Ireland this year. If you fancy Galway to lift a 5th title in a row, you can get a price of 1.82 with Lunubet on Padraig Joyce’s men doing just that on May 10th.
Tip 2 – Mayo to win the 2026 Connacht Title
2026 was being viewed as something of a transition year for Mayo when Andy Moran was announced as the new Mayo senior manager ahead of the 2026 season. A barren few years where Mayo had not been competing at the top table of Gaelic Football had brought a pessimism to Mayo football not seen in many years. That changed with Moran’s appointment, with the Mayo legend bringing his passion for Mayo football to the fore and an impressive league campaign, which yielded 5 wins. The prospect of new stars for 2026, such as Kobe McDonald and Darragh Beirne, as well as Moran’s personality, has brought a renewed hope and optimism to the people of Mayo, with a tilt at Connacht now the least of Mayo’s hopes for 2026.
You can get a price of 2.39 with Scored sports on Mayo winning their first Connacht SFC title since 2021.
Tip 3 – Roscommon to win the 2026 Connacht Title
There is definitely hope in Roscommon that they can challenge the big 2 in Connacht in 2026. A league campaign which brought 4 wins and a series of impressive performances has certainly put them up there as a genuine threat to Mayo and Galway this year. Mark Dowd has taken the reins this year and has set about building a squad capable of taking the fight to Mayo and Galway this year, and judging by their performances, he has certainly done so. Led by stalwarts of the team such as Conor Carroll, Diarmuid Murtagh and Enda Smith, Roscommon can also call on the likes of Daire Cregg, who hit 2-32 during the League, and boast scoring forwards that can trouble any team when firing.
To back Roscommon to win Connacht, you can get a price of 6.50 with Boylesports.
Tip 4 – Galway to Win the 2026 All-Ireland
Galway are currently either 3rd or 4th favourites with most of Ireland’s top sports betting sites to lift Sam Maguire at the end of the 2026 Championship. That is no surprise given the quality of player Padraig Joyce has at his disposal and the near misses they have recently had. Galway have reached 2 of the last 4 All-Irelands, losing to Kerry in 2022 and Armagh in 2024, so Joyce and his players will be eager to mount another tilt at lifting their first All-Ireland since 2001.
To back Galway, you can get a price of 15.00 with Boylesports on Padraig Joyce’s team lifting the Sam Maguire on July 26th.
Tip 5 – Mayo To Reach the 2026 Connacht Final
Mayo begin their 2026 Connacht Championship with a trip to London on April 11th. If they get through that as they are expected to, they will then take on Roscommon or New York in a Connacht semi-final on the weekend of April 25/26. If form is anything to go on, it should be a Mayo-Roscommon semi-final for a place in the showpiece on May 10th. Given the bounce Andy Moran has had in his first year as boss, Mayo fans will be hoping that a Connacht Final appearance is on the cards for their team, and if you think Mayo will get through to another decider, you can get a price of 1.25 with Boylesports on that happening.

Connacht Football Championship Format
The Connacht Championship is a single-elimination competition involving the seven teams that participate. These teams are the five counties of Connacht: Mayo, Galway, Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim, along with New York and London. Three quarter-finals take place in the competition, followed by two semi-finals and then the decider to see which county will lift the Nestor Cup. The winner and losing finalist in the Connacht Championship each qualify directly for the All-Ireland Series.
History - Connacht GAA Football Senior Championship
The Connacht Senior Football Championship is organised by the Connacht Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and has been played annually since its inception in 1888. The Championship was originally contested by the five counties of Connacht, Mayo, Galway, Sligo, Roscommon and Leitrim before they were joined by London in 1975 and New York, who joined in 1999. Galway are the most successful county in Connacht Championship history, winning it on fifty-one occasions, including the 2025 Championship. Mayo are next on the Roll of Honour with forty-seven victories, followed by Roscommon with twenty-four, Sligo with three wins and finally Leitrim, who have won the Championship twice in its history. In 2025, with the inclusion of a host of new rules in Gaelic Football, London’s Liam Gallagher scored the first ever Championship 2-pointer, achieving the feat during their clash with Roscommon in Ruislip.
Connacht GAA Senior Football Roll of Honour

All the original five Connacht counties have won the Championship at least once, with Galway leading the way on 51 title wins. London and New York have never won the Championship since their arrivals in 1975 and 1999 respectively, in fact London have only won three Connacht Championship matches in their history while New York have a solitary Connacht Championship match win to their name, in 2023 against Leitrim.
