This 2023 Cricket World Cup seems to be going by in the blink of an eye as we are already on match 29, which will see India take on England. This game, which will take place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on the 29th of October would have been billed as the clash of two title challengers, but England have been poor and are all but eliminated. Will India make it six from six, or will England get back a modicum of pride? Have a gander at my predictions below as well as the odds that quality Irish betting sites are offering their punters.
💯 India v England Betting Odds
If I asked you to name a popular sport in Ireland, I highly doubt that you would turn around and mention cricket. However, it is becoming increasingly popular across the Emerald Isle, with my Irish sports fans enjoying a bet on it due to the number of entertaining markets that are available to bet on. I have chosen three markets that I like betting on, and have provided you with the betting odds that top Irish bookmakers are currently offering.
Match Winners Odds: India v England
Those who are thinking about betting on the winner of this India vs England match can check out the match winner odds in the table below:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
India | 1.41 | 1.45 | 1.47 | 1.46 | 1.37 |
England | 2.57 | 2.62 | 2.70 | 2.66 | 2.55 |
Top Batsman Odds: India v England
Out of all the markets that are available to cricket bettors, the one that offers the most entertainment value in my opinion is the top batsman market. You choose a batsman from a team to top score, and then you have a sense of suspense and excitement whenever they face a ball. Additionally, the odds for such a market are always enticing due to how tricky it can be to get right - one error of judgment and your batsman could be walking back to the changing rooms.
Below I have provided you with the names of three Indian and English batsmen that I feel have a good shout at top scoring for their team. You can also see the top batsman odds that two top bookies that have this market are offering:
India:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Rohit Sharma | 3.35 | 3.35 |
Virat Kohli | 3.70 | 3.65 |
Shubman Gill | 3.80 | 3.75 |
England:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Dawid Malan | 4.00 | 3.95 |
Joe Root | 3.90 | 3.85 |
Johnny Bairstow | 4.80 | 4.80 |
Top Wicket Taker Odds: India v England
Sometimes it is not easy to decide on a batter for the top batsman market, and in such cases, I do not recommend that you just take a random guess and hope for the best. What I do suggest is that you take the time to check out the bowlers and see if you fancy any of them to take the most wickets for their team. The top wicket taker market offers plenty of entertainment too because every ball is an event in a game of cricket.
Below I have given you three bowlers from both sides that I feel could cause issues to opposing batters, and you can also see the competitive top wicket taker odds that are on offer:
India:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Jasprit Bumrah | 3.40 | 3.40 |
Mohammed Shami | 3.50 | 3.50 |
Kuldeep Yadav | 4.30 | 4.30 |
England:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Adil Rashid | 3.50 | 3.55 |
David Willey | 4.30 | 4.30 |
Brydon Carse | 4.50 | 4.50 |
The above odds were correct at the time of writing. For updated odds, go to the bookmakers' sites.
🔍 India v England Match Winner Prediction
When it comes to form, these two teams are on completely opposite sides of the spectrum. India have been imperious throughout this World Cup, beating everyone put before them, while England have been nothing short of appalling and are handing over the title with a whimper.
England entered the World Cup as one of the favourites, but I honestly would not even back them to beat Scotland at this moment in time. Their confidence is completely shot, and they are playing like world chumps, not world champs. If England fans thought that things could not get much worse after yet another abject display against Sri Lanka, they probably had to reach for the sick bag when they saw that India are up next.
India have won all five matches at the World Cup, and they hardly broke a sweat in doing so. Whether they are batting or bowling first, they just do not seem to mind at all. If one or two of their players have an off day with bat or ball, others will step in and get the job done for the team. They are the best team in the competition by a mile, and it will take something special to stop them from winning the title.
It has been hard to pick a winner in some matches, but this one does not fall into such a category. Based on the current form, there is no way that England are beating India on Sunday.
My India vs England Winner Prediction: India to Win!
✔️ India v England CWC Betting Tips
I am now going to give some tips for those who want to do some sports betting on this India vs England match.
Match Winner: India to Win
Although England are completely out of form, they do have a small slither of hope that they can hold on to and this is the fact that they have a decent record against India at World Cups. They have met a total of eight times, and England lead the way with 4 wins to India's 3. I am very confident that it will be 4 wins apiece come Sunday evening if England can last that long.
I honestly fear for this England bowling attack against the superstars that make up the Indian batting line-up, and it might be best if England bat first because at least that way they do not have to bowl for 50 overs and watch the score edge toward the 400 mark.
The Indian bowlers will be licking their lips at the thought of charging in and bowling at the woefully out-of-form English batters, and English fans are probably already envisaging having to watch Kohli with his over-exuberant celebrations whenever an English wicket falls. England cannot compete with India in either the batting or bowling department on current form, which is why I would be mightily surprised if they managed to turn the home side over and at least add a bit of pride to their inept title defense.
If you want to back India to win, the LegendPlay Sports are currently offering odds of 1.47.
India's Top Batsman Winner: Virat Kohli to Win
This was a toss-up between Sharma and Kohli, and I opted for the latter because he has been like a man on a mission during this World Cup. In the five matches that he has played, he has scored 354 runs and has an average of 118. His best score so far was 103, and if India bat first I would not be surprised to see him notch up another century, which would be his 49th ODI century. He is the definition of a run machine.
If you want to bet on Kohli to top score against England, then Dachbet Sports are offering odds of 3.70.
England's Top Batsman Winner: Dawid Malan to Win
It is also not easy to select a top batsman for England but for all of the wrong reasons. However, Dawid Malan has been England's most consistent player over the last couple of years, and he is their leading runscorer in the competition, so I would back him to top score for England against India. With the way they have been playing, he might only need a 30 or 40 to win this market.
Those who want to back Malan for England's top-scorer can do so with odds of odds of 4.00 at Dachbet Sports.
India's Top Wicket Taker: Jasprit Bumrah to Win Top Wicket Taker
If England's bowlers want to have more success in the subcontinent, then they should study the way that Jasprit Bumrah bowls. The wickets in India are usually batsmen-friendly, so he knows the importance of not being predictable. He will change up his deliveries all of the time in order to keep the opposing batsmen guessing. He has picked up 11 wickets at an average of 16.27 in five matches, which is nothing short of amazing.
If you want to put money on Bumrah to take the most English wickets, then TonyBet currently has odds of 3.40 on offer.
England's Top Wicket Taker: Brydon Carse to Win Top Wicket Taker
I think that Brydon Carse will be given a game against India as England have absolutely nothing left to lose now, and I think he will actually end up doing a pretty good job. I have been impressed with him in the few matches that I have seen him play in, and the fact that India will not know much about him might work in his favour. In the 12 ODI matches that he has played, he has picked up 14 wickets, so he has got something about him.
If you want to back Carse to take the most wickets for England, then TonyBet are offering odds of 4.50
🎁 India v England CWC Bonuses
All industries are competitive nowadays, but I challenge you to find one that is as challenging as the sports betting industry. Bookmakers need to constantly be on top of their game, looking for new ways to stand out in a heavily saturated market, or they run the risk of going out of business. One way that bookies look to stick out above their rivals is by offering quality that potential customers will find hard to walk away from.
In the following table, you can find the best free bets that are currently available to Irish bettors for the CWC or any other big sporting event. To find out more about any of these bookmakers, check out our bookmaker reviews page or simply click on the brand logos provided.

You need to continuously improve your knowledge of the sports that you are betting on as this is how you can get one over on your bookmaker - although, remember that winning is never guaranteed. 📺 Previous India v England Highlights
Would you like to relive what happened when these two teams last met in an ODI fixture? If yes, then you are in luck as I have provided you with highlights of their previous match below. It is always helpful to see how recent previous games have played out as they can give a rough idea as to what might happen during their next meeting:
⚡ India vs England Prediction Overview
1️⃣When Will This IND vs ENG Match Be Played?
This IND vs ENG match will be played on the 29th of October at Lucknow's Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. It will begin at 09:30 GMT.
2️⃣Who Will Win This India vs England Match?
When you look at the form that both of these teams are in, it is hard to predict anything other than a win for India. England will do well to keep things close on current form.
3️⃣What Are the Top Betting Sites for Cricket Bettors?
Dachbet Sports, LegendPlay, TonyBet, Betway, and Betiton are five of my favourite bookies for placing bets on cricket.
4️⃣What is the Best Cricket Bet?
Well, this is highly subjective as the best bet for one bettor might not be the best for another. For me, two of the most entertaining cricket markets are the top batsman and top bowler as they give you a betting experience that you cannot get with other markets.
5️⃣How Long Do Deposits and Withdrawals Take?
Deposits will usually be instant, although it depends on the bookmaker that you have registered with. When it comes to withdrawals, the quickest banking options are e-Wallets such as PayPal, Skrill, and Neteller as you can get your winnings within 24 hours. If you opt to use a Visa or MasterCard, then you will probably have to wait 3-5 working days before you get your money.
