The All-Ireland SHC 2025 has reached the knockout stages, with just six teams remaining in the quest to win the Liam McCarthy Cup at Croke Park in late July.

With the reigning champions, Clare, eliminated early, all eyes are on their Munster neighbours, Cork and Limerick. The Rebels lost in the final last summer, and many are tipping them to go one better this time around. Cork is feeling confident after claiming the provincial crown from their bitter rivals, Limerick, in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Limerick will need to steady their ship when they face Dublin in a quarter-final match this weekend. John Kiely's team is expected to handle the challenge from the capital, but they cannot afford to underestimate Dublin after they easily defeated Kildare in Newbridge last Saturday.

Another exciting weekend of GAA action awaits in both codes, and there are some enticing free bet offers available for punters looking to get in on the excitement.

🏆 Limerick v Dublin Prediction

Limerick came up short against Cork in the Munster decider as their shooting efficiency let them down in a manner to which they aren't accustomed. Had they been more proficient, it could have been a different story.

Now they set their sights on the Dubs. Niall O'Ceallachain's outfit has been decent at times this season, but they have also looked exposed on occasion. Kilkenny threatened to brush them aside in Nowlan Park, and Galway held them off comfortably in what amounted to a de facto Leinster semi-final on the Dubs' patch.

They may not be able to bring the intensity that Cork did when they dethroned the Shannonsiders. That should result in this Limerick v Dublin Quarter Final 2025 going the way of the Treaty County.

OUR PREDICTION: 🏆 LIMERICK TO WIN 🏆

Limerick v Dublin Betting Odds

Limerick are strongly favoured by the leading Irish bookmakers to win this All-Ireland knockout tie. John Kiely's side is expected to have too much firepower and class for a Dublin side that has made progress this season under a new manager but still has some way to go.

The Dubs are major underdogs for this tie, as they face a non-Leinster side for the first time in the Championship under this management. Below we've got three Limerick v Dublin betting tips as we try and unpack this All-Ireland quarter final. As the GAA Championships hit top gear, why not check out our bookmaker reviews to find the best place for your betting needs in that final month of the intercounty season.

Limerick v Dublin Betting Tips

Based on this season's performance, Dublin is poised to make a significant impact. They secured wins against Offaly, Wexford, and Antrim, which positioned them well in Leinster. However, consecutive losses to Kilkenny and Galway revealed a notable gap in class. Now, they are set to face one of the top two teams in the country, and it’s challenging to see how Dublin can keep pace with Kiely’s squad throughout the full 70 minutes. Therefore, our Limerick v Dublin prediction is a definitive win for Limerick.

Dublin has been scoring goals consistently, with 24 goals in their five Leinster round-robin games and three goals against Kildare last weekend. In contrast, Limerick’s Munster round-robin series produced only 11 goals, none of which came in their match against Waterford. However, the Munster final added three more goals. Betting on over 3.5 goals in this quarter-final seems like a solid choice.

Aaron Gillane was exceptional for Limerick against Cork, even in their loss in the Munster final. The Patrickswell forward scored nine points, but it was his overall link-up play and ability to involve his teammates that truly stood out. Had the shootout gone in Limerick's favour, he likely would have earned the Man of the Match award.

  • Tip 1: Limerick -5.5 points: Dublin may not bring the intensity that Limerick faced in the Munster final, and that could lead to fewer problems with shooting and score-taking. If Limerick hit top gear, they could carve this Dublin side open.
  • Tip 2: Over 3.5 goals: Goals have been flowing through much of the Championship for both sides. There were eight scored in Dublin's loss against Kilkenny as they were forced to chase against a superior side. Look for something similar now.
  • Tip 3: Aaron Gillane to be Man of the Match: Aaron Gillane didn't deserve to be on the losing end in the Munster decider, given his colossal display. He can pull the strings here and may get the nod for the personal accolade.

⚽ Limerick Squad Form

Limerick must pick themselves up after their first Munster Championship 'loss' in seven years. They battled for more than 90 minutes with Cork at the Gaelic Grounds, and despite some uncharacteristically wasteful Limerick shooting, the sides were inseparable before the Rebels won a historic penalty shootout.

John Kiely and his Treaty side now face the All-Ireland quarter-finals for the first time since 2018 and a first Championship showdown with the Dubs in a decade.

Despite coming up short in the provincial decider, Limerick remains very much the team to beat for anyone seeking to hoist the Liam McCarthy Cup, and they've had a fortnight to prepare for this tussle against a Dublin side that has routinely struggled against quality opposition on their journey to this point.

They may have surrendered their Munster crown, but the latest Limerick vs Dublin betting odds suggest they will remain on course to regain the biggest prize of all.

⚽ Dublin Squad Form

Dublin faced minimal challenges in their 21-point victory over Kildare in Newbridge, as Niall O'Ceallachain and his team prepared for a quarter-final against Limerick. First-half goals from Ronan Hayes and Diarmaid O'Dulaing established the groundwork for the Dubs to comfortably surpass a Lilywhites side making a significant leap in competition just six days after their Joe McDonagh Cup triumph.

Sean Currie, who scored 0-08, emerged as the leading scorer for the Dubs, who were placed on the preliminary quarter-final path due to their third-place finish in Leinster behind Galway and Kilkenny.

Dublin was still missing Donal Burke, while former All-Star Danny Sutcliffe was also sidelined due to injury. They will hope to regain reinforcements soon, but a quick turnaround is now necessary. Burke was at least dressed for the game, and in a positive development ahead of next weekend, he completed a light warm-up along the sideline in the closing minutes of the match.
