Clare take on Wexford in the All-Ireland Hurling Quarter Final on Saturday, the 22nd of June. Throw in is 15:15 GMT. The match is part of a double header, with the first Quarter Final between Cork and Dublin preceding this one. The match takes place in Semple Stadium in Thurles and will be live on RTE 2 for Irish viewers and on GAA Go for those who wish to view it outside Ireland. Clare head into the game as favourites but need to respond after losing last time out to Limerick in the Munster Final to Limerick by 6 points. Wexford narrowly missed out on a Leinster Final after losing by a point to Kilkenny in the final round robin game in Leinster meaning they finished 3rd and had to settle for a palace in the preliminary Quarter Final of the All-Ireland. On paper, Clare are the stronger team, but Wexford have shown over the years they are a match for any team on their day and are capable of putting in a performance full of heart and determination. They will need this exact performance on Saturday if they are to match the quality of Clare. They will need to fight hard for every ball and rely on the quality in attack especially in the form of Lee Chin. They will also need a poor performance from Clare. If Clare play to the levels that they can, they will no doubt win the game. Wexford will need hard work but also luck.
🏆 Clare vs Wexford Prediction All Ireland Hurling Championship
This battle between Clare and Wexford is an intriguing one because all signs point to a Cork win. They are scoring more, they are more confident, and they probably have more quality in their team. However, we have seen countless times in hurling that you have to be on your game 100% or else you will be beaten. The modern hurling game is about intensity and hard work, and if you do not produce both of these attributes in a game, you can be beaten by anybody. Wexford have shown these attributes over the years in Leinster victories over Kilkenny and nearly did it again when the sides met for a place in the Leinster Final. Clare had some excellent performances in the Munster championship. They lost their first game against Limerick after looking comfortable at halftime, but they responded with wins over Cork, Waterford and Tipperary to book their place in yet another Munster final meeting with Limerick. They would fall short against Limerick again but will hope that a victory on Saturday will put them on a collision course for the All Ireland final and a potential meeting once again with Limerick, will the 3rd time be the charm? They will be focused firstly on getting the job done on Saturday to set up an All-Ireland semi-final with Kilkenny, and I believe that they will.
🔎 Cork vs Dublin Performance Analysis
In the championship to this point, Clare have scored a total of 10-109 across 5 games. If we are to look at their average score tally per game, this works out at 2-21.8 which can be rounded to 2-22. Wexford have scored 8-157 across 6 championship matches. This works out at an average points total per game of 1.33-26.16 which can be rounded to 1-26. Wexford’s tally is slightly skewed from games against Carlow, who eventually got relegated and Laois who are in the Joe McDonagh. They scored 2-36 and 0-32 in these two games. These are teams not of the same calibre as those Clare faced. If we take out those two games, Wexford scored 6-89, which is an average across 4 games of 1.5-22.25 which can be rounded to 2-22. The stats say this game will be close.
💯 Clare vs Wexford Betting Odds All Ireland Championship
Clare are the favourites in the odds with the bookmakers. Clare have had a strong championship to this point responding to an early Munster championship defeat to Limerick with wins versus Cork, Waterford and Tipperary. They lost out in the Munster final to Limerick but will take a lot of positives from their Munster final. Wexford had a mixed Leinster championship, suffering a shock defeat to Antrim in round 2 but getting a brilliant victory versus Galway. They missed out on a Leinster final after losing to Kilkenny so the odds being in Clare’s favour are understandable and this is evident on these betting sites.

✔️ Clare vs Wexford Betting Tips
Clare and Wexford is an intriguing one and here are some tips if you are unsure.
Tip 1: Clare to Win
Clare are the favourites for this one and with good reason. Alongside Cork they look for the best place to challenge Limerick this year for the All-Ireland crown and are growing in confidence as the championship develops. They have won 3 of their 5 championship games, only suffering defeats to All Ireland champions Limerick by 3 points in the round-robin phase and by 6 points in the Munster Final. They have put in some strong performances this season, especially in a narrow two point victory over Cork where they scored 3-26. They will be disappointed that they did not run Limerick closer in the Munster Final, especially considering that the sides were level at half time. They started the game very strong but did not take advantage and Limerick eventually took control. They will need to respond versus Wexford or their championship will be over. Wexford go in as the underdogs, so in a way, they have nothing to lose, but they do have everything to gain, a place in the All Ireland semi-final and another chance to beat Kilkenny. Clare are a strong outfit and definite All Ireland contenders. They will not have it all their own way versus Wexford, but I do think they will win with a couple of points to spare.
Tip 2: Clare handicap -3.5
The scoring averages of both these sides was touched upon in the performance analysis section. Wexford’s average does not include the Carlow or Laois games to better gauge their scoring average against higher quality teams. Wexford averaged a score of 1-22 in games against Galway, Kilkenny, Dublin and Antrim. Clare averaged a score of 1-22 in games against Limerick, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford. Both sides played quality opposition but it could be argued that the teams Clare played in Munster are of slightly higher quality than those that Wexford played in Leinster. Both teams are capable of high scoring and their averages are identical but I do not see this one on Saturday ending identical on the scoreline. I think if Clare were playing in leinster they would have a slightly higher average than Wexford. Clare will have enough to get the result against Wexford and although I do think they will have points to spare, it will not be a hammering. A handicap of -3 seems appropriate and if you have any free bets this would be a good one to take a chance on at odds of 1.85 at DirectionBet Sports.
Tip 3: Half-Time Result Clare
Clare have shown this year that they start games strong. In the Munster final versus Limerick they started the game well but did not take advantage of the pressure they put on Limerick but still went into halftime level. In round 1 of the round robin in the Munster championship, Clare led Limerick by 5 points. They also led at halftime in their game against Waterford and were level versus Tipperary at halftime. They tend to start games strongly and they have only been behind at halftime once in the championship this season, trailing Cork at halftime but only by 2 points. Clare are a team who like to come out of the traps quickly and put their opponents under pressure. They come into this game as the favourites so they will not want Wexford to get any early momentum that could lead to a potential shock. They will want to be in a strong position at halftime so that they can see out the game and a halftime lead for Clare can be got at odds of 1.60 at Royalistplay Sports.
