Dublin To Win!

Wicklow will be massive underdogs when they welcome Dublin to Aughrim for their Leinster Senior Football Championship quarter-final on Sunday, April 19th, at 15:00 GMT.

Oisin McConville’s team have already beaten Division 4 champions Carlow to get to this stage of the Leinster Championship, while it will be a first Leinster Championship match for the Dubs since their disappointing loss to Meath last year. The sides met at this stage in 2025 also, with Dublin, then managed by Dessie Farrell, coming through by 9 points, 2-21 – 0-18.

In this preview to this year’s contest, we will give you the latest Wicklow v Dublin odds. We will also provide our Wicklow v Dublin match prediction, so stay tuned as we look forward to Wicklow vs Dublin on April 19th.

🎯 Wicklow vs Dublin Prediction

Wicklow may be huge underdogs for this clash with Dublin, but there is no doubt that they should be relishing the chance to have a go at Dublin when they meet in Aughrim. Oisin McConville’s team had a solid Division 4 league but ultimately failed to gain promotion. They made up for that by beating Carlow in the first round of the Leinster Championship, a win which has given them their shot at Dublin.

Dublin, meanwhile, have had a tough 2026 so far. New manager Ger Brennan has had to quickly realise the scope of the job he has taken on in his home county, with Dublin now appearing to be a pale shadow of their all-conquering sides of the 2010s and early 2020s. They were relegated to Division 2 of the league, winning just 2 of their matches this year and losing 5. That form has only highlighted the big job the former Louth boss has as he tries to rebuild Dublin in what is now a more competitive Leinster Championship.

Wicklow were full value for their 2-15 – 1-7 win over Carlow and will relish the chance of causing a seismic shock in the Leinster Championship, but the Dubs should still be too good for Oisín McConville’s team. They were relegated but did show enough in the first half against Galway and Armagh to suggest that the potential is there for them to be competitive this year. A good start is needed for Dublin to squash any Wicklow momentum, and if they get that, they should be more than capable of clinching the win.

A more consistent performance over the full 70 minutes will be what the Dublin management are after, but a semi-final berth is well within their grasp, and that is why our Wicklow v Dublin prediction is for a Dublin victory.

OUR PREDICTION: DUBLIN TO WIN

⚡⚡ Wicklow vs Dublin Betting Tips

We will now give you a selection of Wicklow v Dublin betting tips as we get ready for their Leinster SFC meeting in Aughrim. These tips may prove handy for those bettors that wish to have a bet on the match or those that have some free bets to use.

Before having a bet on the match, however, why not check out our online bookmaker reviews page? Here, you can find even more information about any of the betting sites listed.

  • Tip 1: Dublin to win: As much as it has been a struggle so far this year for Dublin, Ger Brennan’s team should still have more than enough to account for Wicklow. They still have some top-quality footballers like Seán Bugler, Con O’Callaghan and Ciarán Kilkenny to call on, and those kinds of players will be needed this year in what is something of a transition year for the new Dublin management team. Even without their suspended manager on the sideline, they should still get through and book their place in a semi-final.

If you agree, you can currently get a price of 1.06 with BoyleSports on Dublin getting the win in Wicklow.

  • Tip 2: Con O’Callaghan to score a goal anytime: The Cuala star is critical to Dublin’s chances of making an impact in this year’s Leinster and All-Ireland Championships. He was key in helping his team over a stubborn Wicklow last year, hitting 1-7, and if he plays in this clash, he will be once again. When fully fit, Dublin can still call on a potentially lethal forward line, and there is no doubt that O’Callaghan is the critical part of it.
  • Tip 3: Wicklow +9.5 Handicap: Wicklow held Dublin to 9 points last year through some stubborn play and good goalkeeping from Mark Jackson, and they will look to make Dublin’s life even harder this year in front of their home fans in Aughrim. There is no doubt that if Dublin click, they could do a serious number on Wicklow, but we haven’t seen enough of Dublin clicking this year to confidently predict that they will. With that in mind, perhaps the safer bet is to predict a Dublin win but Wicklow to beat the +9.5 point handicap.

If you think Wicklow +9.5 is the best bet for you, it is currently available at a price of 1.85 with DirectionBet.

🪄 Wicklow Squad Form

Wicklow narrowly missed out on promotion to Division 3 of the league for next year by finishing 3rd in Division 4 this year, but they did have a great win over Carlow in the 1st round of the 2026 Leinster Senior Football Championship. Oisin McConville’s men comfortably won that tie on a scoreline of 2-15 – 1-7 in Carlow to set up this quarter-final clash with Dublin at home. Mark Jackson led the way with 6 points, and a top performance from their star goalkeeper at both ends may be needed once again to trouble Dublin in any way.

🥇 Dublin Squad Form

This is Dublin’s first game in this year’s championship, and they will want to make it a meaningful one after their struggles in the league. Ger Brennan’s team were relegated from Division 1, and at the time of writing, they will be without their manager on the line for this clash after his 12-week ban for what went on during the league clash with Galway was upheld.

🎈 Wicklow vs Dublin Predicted Lineups

This is Dublin’s first game of the championship, so we will show you the team they put out against Galway in their final league game. Wicklow have had a match in the Leinster SFC, and what a performance it was as they beat Carlow by 11 points.
