Louth begin the defence of their Leinster Senior Football Championship crown when they play Wexford in Dr Cullen Park, Carlow, on Sunday, April 19th, at 14:30 GMT.
The 2025 Leinster champions narrowly missed out on promotion to Division 1 of the National League but are in good form heading to Carlow to face Wexford. Wexford, for their part, had a great league, winning promotion to Division 2, which they will play in for the first time since 2013, next year.

Wexford have had a great year and will play Division 2 football next year after securing back-to-back promotions in the league. They narrowly lost the Division 3 final to Down after extra time in March, despite being 3 points up with 8 minutes of normal time to go. Their form so far this year should give John Hegarty’s team confidence that they can make their presence felt against Louth in Carlow, but Louth are currently playing at a higher level than the Slaney-siders and should be more than capable of booking their place in a semi-final.
