Offaly and Antrim have experienced varying degrees of disappointment so far in the Leinster Hurling Championship and now they meet in Tullamore with relegation on the line. Sunday's losers will drop out of the top-tier for 2026, so managers Johnny Kelly and Davy Fitzgerald must pour everything into securing the right outcome.
It's a massive game for both camps and we've got our Offaly v Antrim prediction below while you can also indulge in our extensive sports bookie reviews as you weigh up the best options to place your GAA bets.
🏆 Offaly v Antrim Prediction
Offaly pushed Wexford to the pin of their collars in Chadwicks Wexford Park last weekend, the home side only taking the lead for the first time in added time at the end of the game as Conor McDonald and Lee Chin got vital scores that spared the Wexford's blushes.
Antrim meanwhile were on the end of a hammering in Salthill as a much-changed Galway side rattled in 6-27 on their way to a 28-point win over Davy Fitzgerald's Saffron side. Galway were out to a 2-12 to 0-8 even before Declan McCloskey was dismissed on a straight red card in the first half.
The latest odds show the home side as overwhelming favourites to get the win that will preserve their Liam McCarthy status for the 2026 season. Offaly are priced at 1.37 at Lunubet Sports to get the victory and our Offaly v Antrim betting tips come down on the side of the Faithful County for home rule.
OUR PREDICTION: 🏆 OFFALY TO WIN 🏆
💯 Offaly v Antrim Betting Odds
After four defeats apiece in the Leinster journey to this point, it is simply a case of win or bust for those these sides now. The losers will prop up the table and duly drop out of the Championship reckoning for 2026. Offaly have home advantage in Tullamore and that is a major help to their cause.
✔️ Offaly v Antrim Betting Tips
Offaly are priced at 1.80 with DirectionBet to overcome a 4.5 handicap in this relegation battle and the Faithful County are fancied to do just that. Antrim have lost their four games by 11, 18, 14 and 28 points so far and Fitzgerald's side don't appear set to arrest that sequence now. A second-string Galway selection toyed with the Saffrons in Pearse Stadium last weekend, while Offaly were giving Wexford a massive scare on their travels. Offaly have scored 2-19 against Dublin and 2-16 against Kilkenny and they have the scoring power to pick off Antrim.
Johnny Kelly’s men went top of the pile in Division 1B of the NHL back in the spring thanks to a 2-26 to 0-17 win over Antrim at O’Connor Park. Brian Duignan scored 0-12 that afternoon for the Faithful County, and the forward tallied 1-09 in last weekend's defeat in Wexford. The Ballinamere clubman will have a key role to play in helping Offaly retain their Championship status and he could collect the Man of the Match award.
Antrim have shipped 13 goals in four games and Offaly's four Leinster battles have produced 19 goals. Green flags may continue to be raised at Glenisk O'Connor Park on Sunday. We're expecting goals to flow in Tullamore on Sunday as the Leinster SHC round robin reaches the endgame, with this being one of three games played simultaneously, and there are lots of free bet offers going into another busy weekend of GAA action.
- Tip 1: Offaly -4.5 Handicap: Offaly are worthy favourites and Antrim have lost all four Leinster games by more than 10 points. It could be another tough afternoon for the Saffrons.
- Tip 2: Brian Duignan to be Man of the Match: Full forward Brian Duignan has been doing well this season. He nailed 12 points in the league win over Antrim here in the spring and can inspire Offaly to a win.
- Tip 3: Over 3.5 goals: Goals have been flowing wherever these sides have been recently. Expect that trend to continue based on the Offaly v Antrim H2H stats.
⚽ Offaly Squad Form
The reigning Joe McDonagh Cup champions, Offaly are back playing Leinster SHC for the first time since 2018. There have been some positives for Johnny Kelly and his side, but ultimately four defeats leave them staring at a do-or-die scenario as Antrim arrive in Tullamore. A quick scan of the best betting sites reveals that Offaly are expected to be equal to this challenge.
A host of their All-Ireland under-20 winners have nailed down spots in Kelly’s senior squad and are key men already. The likes of James Mahon, Donal Shirley, Colin Spain, Cathal King and Dan Bourke are all cutting their teeth in senior hurling this season, while Dan Ravenhil impressed in the forward line. Rising star Adam Screeney is one of the best young hurlers in the game, while Brecon Kavanagh, Ruairí Kelly and Ter Guinan have made the transition to the senior panel. They must now ensure a win here for a second crack at the Leinster Championship next season and a chance to gain further experience.
⚽ Antrim Squad Form
Davy Fitzgerald cut a frustrated figure after Antrim were brushed aside in Salthill last weekend. Not for the first time in his managerial career, Fitzgerald took umbrage with the match officials as he suggested that some of them 'actually despise me'.
Declan McCloskey's sending off was the main bone of contention but the Antrim boss did concede the impact on the match was minimal: "Would we have won the game? Definitely not. We weren’t good enough."
That could be the problem again for his side in Tullamore. Nothing we have witnessed from this Antrim side so far suggests they are going to be good enough to come to Offaly and win. They will be without McCloskey and it now looks a tall order for Antrim.

✒️ Offaly vs Antrim - H2H Stats
Antrim’s 1989 All-Ireland SHC semi-final victory over Offaly is commonly regarded as the greatest shock in championship hurling, despite the fact the Saffrons regularly went toe to toe with the traditional powers in the country and were perhaps unfortunate they only reached one All-Ireland Final in the late 1980s and early 1990s period.
