So, after 10 round robin matches in the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling Championship, we are down to our final two. Cork face Limerick in this year’s final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on June 7th, at 14:00 GMT, with the match being shown live on RTÉ television.

In this preview to the big match, we will show you everything you need to know about the two teams. From the odds to some helpful Cork v Limerick betting tips, we have you covered ahead of the match. We will also discuss our prediction, so read on as we look forward to the 2026 Munster Senior Hurling final.

🏆 Limerick v Cork Prediction

The 2026 Munster final between Cork and Limerick has all the makings of a modern-day classic given the form and class of both sides and the fact that this match is a repeat of the 2025 decider, which Cork eventually won on penalties.

We think there will be a different outcome to this match, and that is why our Cork v Limerick Munster SHC final prediction is for a Limerick win, but only just.

Ben O’Connor’s Cork team have breezed through to another Munster final on June 7th, winning all four of their round-robin matches, including their Round 2 match against Limerick back on April 26th. They have looked a more complete team this year, even with injuries to key players such as Darragh Fitzgibbon, Ciarán Joyce and Robert Downey, and have looked far more physically imposing this year than they have in previous years. Their aggression in their pressure and their ability around the breaking ball have been hallmarks of their victories this year, as has been the threat of their forwards and their pace throughout the team. Newer players like William Buckley and Barry Walsh have added dynamism and threat to a stacked forward line that already included Brian Hayes and Alan Connolly, but with silverware on the line, this 2026 version of Cork will be severely tested by John Kiely’s Limerick.

Limerick are the team that still holds an aura that no other team can match. For many, they are still the team to beat in this year’s championship, and they will be keen to win back the Munster title they lost so narrowly last year. In their meeting in April they came so close to winning, despite playing the last twenty minutes with 14 players after Cian Lynch’s red card, something they will no doubt look to rectify on June 7th. Their ability to dominate the middle third of the pitch, both aerially and through turnovers, is still unmatched by any other team when they hit top gear, and with Aaron Gillane returning to their forward line, their squad is starting to look complete once again.

Cork are the fresher team and will be hungry to back up their last two wins over Limerick, but in their eighth Munster final in a row, we see Limerick having the last laugh. Their mentality and hunger to win mean 2026 could be a big year for the Limerick hurlers, starting with the 2026 Munster final.

OUR PREDICTION: 🏆 LIMERICK TO WIN 🏆

✔️ Limerick v Cork Betting Tips

At this stage in our Cork v Limerick Munster SHC final preview, we are going to share three Cork v Limerick betting tips that may be of some use to those with any free bets to use ahead of the match on June 7th.

Before betting, why not check out our bookmaker reviews page? Here, you can find out even more information about any of the top sportsbooks listed.

  • Tip 1: Limerick to Win: These two are certainly the two best teams currently left in this year’s All-Ireland Championship, and it would not be a surprise to anyone to see them meeting at GAA HQ later in the championship. But for now we have the small matter of a Munster final to get through, and we think John Kiely’s Limerick can just about seal the deal and win back the title they lost so heartbreakingly on penalties last year.

To back Limerick, you can get a price of 1.91 with BoyleSports on Limerick securing the win.

  • Tip 2: Limerick to win by 1-3 points: The last two meetings between the teams have finished in a draw and with Cork winning by two points, respectively. Cork also ultimately won the match that ended level in a penalty shoot-out, but it highlights that there is very little to choose between the two teams. Many will feel a narrow Cork win will be the best bet given the closeness between the sides, but we think that with the title on the line, Limerick will just about get over the line.

If you agree, you can currently get a price of 5.00 with BoyleSports on Limerick securing the win by 1-3 points.

  • Tip 3: Aaron Gillane to be an anytime goal scorer Gillane was held scoreless on his comeback against Waterford but got his 2026 season up and running with 2 goals against Tipperary in Limerick’s final round-robin game. Limerick’s forward threat goes up a notch when the Patrickswell man lines up for his team, and we expect him to have a major part to play if Limerick are going to win back the Munster title.

⚽ Cork Squad Form

Cork went unbeaten in their four round-robin games and head into the Munster final full of confidence after beating Limerick in last year’s decider and earlier in the Munster Championship. They lost their record scorer Patrick Horgan to retirement this year, but the likes of William Buckley have added a fresh impetus to their forward line. They have also had injuries to contend with at different points. Robert Downey returned for the Clare match in Round 5 after missing the Waterford match, while Ciarán Joyce has been out since getting injured against Limerick on April 26th. Darragh Fitzgibbon is another who missed the Clare match, and the quicker they get their talisman back, the better their chances of success later in the season.

⚽ Limerick Squad Form

Limerick won three of their four round-robin games, with their only defeat coming against Cork in Round 2. They played the last twenty minutes of that game with 14 players and still led heading into injury time, so they should take confidence from that. Cian Lynch returned to the starting team against Tipperary, and Aaron Gillane got two goals, while they had the luxury of rotating the likes of Shane O’Brien and Barry Nash, highlighting the strength in depth Kiely has at his disposal this year.

👕 Cork vs Limerick Predicted Lineups

Both Cork and Limerick have changes that they can make to the teams that lined out in their final round-robin matches if injuries permit, so it will be interesting to see the starting 15s both managers opt for when the sliotar is thrown in at 14:00 GMT on Sunday, June 7th. Below you can see the teams that both lined out with in their respective Round 5 matches.
