The 2025 Leinster Hurling Senior Championship continues this weekend, with the Round 2 meeting of Offaly and Galway at O’Connor Park, Tullamore. The throw-in for the game takes place at 18:30 GMT on Saturday, April 26th. Both sides suffered defeats in their opening matches, with Offaly suffering late heartbreak against Dublin, despite leading by 3 with just two minutes remaining.
Galway experienced a disappointing loss of 0-21 to 3-24 in their opening round against an injury-hit Kilkenny at Nowlan Park. Both sides will need a win to have any real chance of making an impact in Leinster this year. In this preview of what is now a vital match, we will look ahead to the game in Tullamore. We will give you the latest Offaly v Galway odds, as well as provide you with our very own prediction ahead of the game on April 26th.
🏆 Offaly v Galway Prediction
Offaly are taking part in the Leinster Championship for the first time since 2018. The Faithful County has spent the last few years stuck between the Joe McDonagh and Christy Ring Cups. They earned their place in this year’s Championship by winning the 2024 Joe McDonagh Cup and have backed up that good form from last year by impressing many with their 2025 Division 1B League performances. Their League form saw them win 4 of their 6 Division 1B matches, earning them promotion to Division 1A for 2026. They began their Leinster campaign with a devastating loss to Dublin, however. Leading by 3 after 68 minutes, Johnny Kelly’s team lost by 3 in the end.
Galway, also suffered a loss in their opening round match. They were disappointing in their defeat to Kilkenny, allowing the Cats to dictate matters for much of the match in Nowlan Park. A 12-point loss will not have done anything for Micheál Donoghue’s spirits, as he returns as Galway manager for a second stint, charged with rebuilding his county into challengers once again. A mixed League campaign saw the 2017 All-Ireland champions win 3 and lose 3 of their 6 matches, and they will need to be a lot better against Offaly if they want to have any chance of competing for their first Leinster title since 2018.
Galway were disappointing against Kilkenny in their opening match and will need to improve to kickstart their 2025 Leinster Championship. However, we predict that they will succeed against an Offaly side still finding its feet at the top level. Offaly will certainly challenge Galway, but expect the Tribesmen to secure the 2 points on April 26th.

✔️ Offaly v Galway Betting Tips
At this stage of our Offaly v Galway prediction, we are going to suggest 3 betting tips that may prove useful to those with free bet offers to avail of.
- Tip 1: Galway to win: Galway will have to bounce back against Offaly after the disappointment of their opening round loss to Kilkenny, and we expect them to do so. Galway have not become bad hurlers overnight, with many predicting a Kilkenny v Galway Leinster Final before the season started. Micheál Donoghue’s team will expect to outperform an Offaly side that is still relatively new to this level of hurling, despite their recent defeat to Kilkenny. If you agree that Galway can bounce back, you can get a price of 1.23 with Lunubet Sports on Galway winning in Tullamore.
- Tip 2: Half Time/Full Time: Offaly/Galway: Offaly have done well to get themselves back to the Leinster Championship this year and will look to continue their upward trajectory in terms of performances and results during this year’s campaign. Welcoming a potentially downbeat Galway side to O’Connor Park could extract a defining game from Johnny Kelly’s men. We certainly expect that Offaly will put it up to Galway for a lot of this Leinster clash. So much so, we are very curious about the halftime/fulltime markets available on the match. Offaly could very well be leading at halftime and lose the match, so if this market interests you, a price of 5.50 with Directionbet Sport is currently available on Offaly leading at halftime and Galway winning the match.
- Tip 3: Galway to win by 7+ points: Galway will need to get their championship campaign underway against Offaly on April 26th, and we predict they will deliver when it matters, defeating Offaly by a comfortable margin in the end. Expect it to be a closely fought battle for long periods, but given Galway’s greater experience at this level of hurling, we expect them to begin pulling away from an ever-improving Offaly by the closing stages of this Round 2 clash. If you agree, you can get a price of 2.25 with Directionbet Sport on Galway emerging victorious by 7+ points by the end of the game.
📈 Offaly Squad Form
Offaly were leading for long periods against Dublin in their opening round match against Dublin, before succumbing to a late defeat in Parnell Park. They will look to build on the good things they produced in that match, as well as their League campaign when they play Galway on April 26th. Once again, they will need the likes of Brian Duignan and Oisin Kelly firing when the sides meet in their Round 2 clash.
⚽ Galway Squad Form
Galway will have to bounce back after a weak effort in defeat against Kilkenny in Round 1. Micheál Donoghue has returned on a four-year term, suggesting a rebuild in Galway is in the cards, but they will still want to make an impact in 2025. Padraig Mannion, Cathal Mannion and Conor Whelan will be vital to any hopes Galway have of having any kind of say over what happens in the 2025 hurling Championship.
👕 Offaly v Galway Predicted Lineups
