✔️ PDC World Series of Darts Betting Tips 2023

Darts is one of those sports that lends itself well to sports betting as there are plenty of markets that darts fans can put their hard-earned money on. In this part of my World Series of Darts guide, I am going to take a look at some popular markets and provide some betting advice for each one.

Tournament Winner

This is a very common market where you are betting on the player that you think will go on and win the competition. If they win the event, you win your bet. If they do not, you lose your bet. It is that simple.

Top Tip 1: I know it is tempting to just put your money on one of the favourites, but if sports betting was this simple then I would not be sitting here writing this guide for you. Yes, sometimes the favourite will live up to their tag, but this is not always the case. Before you go ahead and bet on someone to win the whole event, take the time to see what their form has been as of late.

Most 180s

The highest score that a player can land when they step up to the oche is 180, and the crowd go wild when a player lands one. All of the top sites will allow you to put money on the player that you think will hit the most 180s in a match or across a tournament - obviously, the odds for the latter are going to be higher since its a harder market to predict.

Top Tip 2: You might be tempted to bet on the best players here, but some of the best players do not aim for 180s as much as some other players. For example, Michael van Gerwen is one of the best players in the world, but he often likes to drop from the 20s to the 19s, decreasing his 180 opportunities. You need to do your research when making this kind of wager.

Nine-Dart Finish

Your typical leg of darts starts with both players on a score of 501, and the minimum number of darts required to check out from this is nine – a nine-dart finish is the equivalent to a snooker player scoring a 147 or a golfer hitting a hole-in one. You will be able to bet on whether a player will land a nine-dart finish in a match or tournament.

Top Tip 3: The odds might make this market an enticing one, but the odds are high for a reason – it is a notoriously different feat to hit. So, my advice to you is to not get into a habit of placing such a bet because more often than not it will be a losing one.

Over/Under Betting for Total Legs and Sets

This market involves placing a bet on whether the match will over/under a certain number of sets or legs. For instance, if you place a wager on over 6.5, and there are a total of eight legs in the match, then you have placed a successful bet. However, if there are six legs or fewer, your bet will be a losing one.

Top Tip 4: Take a look at the two players that are competing and then check to see whether their recent matches have been close ones with each player winning a good number of legs. If so, then I would recommend that you consider putting your money on the over market. However, if one player has completely dominated in the past, winning easily, put your money on under.

Handicap Betting

Sometimes there will be a complete mismatch on the cards, and the odds will reflect this - the odds for the favourite will be low and really unenticing, while the odds for the underdog will be high, but offer low value because the chances of them winning are slim.

In such a scenario, handicap betting is very helpful as it gives you the option to apply hypothetical legs, either plus or minus, to either player to even the playing field. For example, you could give the favourite a 2-leg deficit to boost their odds, which means that they would need to win the match by three legs or more - if they win by two, it will be deemed a hypothetical draw.

Top Tip 5: The best time to make use of the handicap betting option is usually at the beginning of a competition since this is when mismatches are most likely to happen. So, look at the match ups, find the ones where there is a huge gulf in class, and make use of the handicap betting option.

Market variety is very important when it comes to sports betting as it ensures that boredom is kept at bay. TonyBet is a sportsbook that is well aware of this as can be seen from the fact that they offer plenty of markets for all of the sports that they have available. To make things better, they make sure that enticing odds accompany the markets that they offer.

New and existing punters will not find themselves disappointed by the welcome offer and promotions that are on offer. Those who sign up here can get their hands on a 100% match offer up to the value of €100.

Betway has gone on to become one of the best bookmakers in the world, so any experienced sports bettors among us will not be surprised to see them make my list. Irish darts fans love placing in-play bets, and Betway currently offer one of the best live betting platforms around - you'll find competitive odds, helpful stats, and plenty of market choice. You also will not be lacking in pre-match betting options.

Luckster does not have the same levels of experience that the likes of BoyleSports and Betway have, but what they lack in experience they definitely make up for in quality. They have been around for a little more than a year, but they can already keep up with the big boys. Irish darts bettors will be crawn to them thanks to their top odds, market variation, and quality promos such as odds and winning boosts.

They obviously took a leaf out of TonyBet's book for their welcome offer as it is exactly the same - they will be happy to match your first deposit 100% up to the sum of €100.

You can find out about all the other aspects of their sportsbook by having a read of our Luckster review.

William Hill

William Hill, just like BoyleSports, also sponsor some of the big darts events, so it is also not surprising to find out that the darts offering at this sportsbook is top-notch. When the marquee events are on, they will usually have some quality promotions running, and they also specialise when it comes to in-play darts betting and live streaming.

What about the welcome offer? Well, those who register with William Hill will be able to claim two free bets that have a value of €15 each. They also offer a darts guide, with the latest news and advice, so make sure to give that a read.

Find out anything else you would like to know by having a read of our William Hill review.
