Australia face Georgia on Saturday, July 20th, in the last of their Summer Internationals for 2024. The Wallabies, under new coach Joe Schmidt, formerly the Irish Head Coach, beat Warren Gatland’s Wales 2 – 0 in their two-game series, so they will be buoyed as they face what’s undoubtedly going to be a physical battle against the Georgians. Georgia, for their part, are heading to Sydney on the back of defeating Japan in their previous game, but know that a fired-up Australian team will be a serious step up in class. There will be a New Zealand based officiating team for the game on Saturday with James Doleman the man in the middle. If you can bear to face an early Saturday morning start, kick-off from the Allianz Stadium in Sydney is 6.45 a.m. GMT, and below you can read my prediction for the game as Australia aim to make it three wins from three this Summer.
💯 Australia v Georgia Betting Odds Summer Internationals
To begin my prediction guide, I am going to give you a list of five of the best rugby bookmakers to bet within Ireland for the Summer Internationals. Along with that, I am giving you three of the most popular bets and the odds they have on offer for each one.
🥇 Australia v Georgia Match Winner Odds
This will be the first meeting between the two nations not taking place at a Rugby World Cup, with the Aussies winning both those two World Cup encounters by nineteen and twenty points respectively. Joe Schmidt’s men are unsurprisingly the heavy favourites for this third game between the two countries, and you can check out the match-winner odds in the table below.
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Australia | 1.03 | 1.04 | 1.04 | 1.05 | 1.03 |
Draw | 27.00 | 41.00 | 41 | 12.00 | 27.00 |
Georgia | 11.16 | 9.50 | 9.50 | 9.81 | 11.16 |
🏮 Australia v Georgia Asian Handicap Odds
With the Wallabies such heavy favourites, as you can see in the table above, there won’t be much profit to be had from a straight match winner bet, so how about making the odds more enticing by playing the Asian Handicap Market. With this bet, you can, for instance, give Australia a points deficit (which will be determined by the bookmaker) to lengthen their odds. If they defeat Georgia by more than the points deficit determined by the bookmaker, you will win on your stake.
Below is a table with the Asian Handicap Market for this Australia v Georgia game in Sydney.
Asian Handicap | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Australia (-18.5) | 1.92 | 1.85 | 1.85 | - | 1.92 |
Georgia (+18.5) | 1.85 | 1.80 | 1.80 | - | 1.85 |
➕ Australia v Georgia Highest Scoring Half Odds
One of the more enjoyable betting markets for Rugby Union is the highest-scoring half market. In this game in particular, this could be a fun bet as you would expect that Australia might be too strong for the Georgians by the time the second half comes around. With this bet you don’t necessarily need to be shouting for one side or the other, just hoping that one half of play outscores the other.
You can see the odds for the Highest Scoring Half market in the table below.
Highest Scoring Half | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
First | 2.10 | - | - | 1.95 | 2.10 |
Second | 1.88 | - | - | 1.91 | 1.88 |
Tie | 20.00 | - | - | 12.00 | 20.00 |
Odds are subject to change.
🔍 Australia v Georgia Winner Prediction
Australia have historically always been at the forefront of innovation and skill in the game of rugby. Recently has seen the two-time World Champions slide down the pecking order of the World rugby order, however, but Australian fans will hope that the addition of Joe Schmidt, a Grand Slam winner with Ireland, as their new Head Coach, can bring them back to the top table. Georgia, although a second-tier nation in Rugby terms have been making steady progress over the last few years and have gained wins against the likes of Wales and Japan in recent years. This progress has been ushered in by the fact that more and more of their players are now playing in top level Leagues such as the Top 14.
Australia will be expected by everyone to defeat their Georgian counterparts, but they must avoid allowing complacency to creep into their mindset. You can expect the Georgians to try and bully the Aussies upfront and make it a war of attrition in the forward pack. Australian fans will hope that the team will look to keep the ball in hand to stretch the Georgian defence and make holes with some incisive running patterns.
The Georgians are huge underdogs for this test match, and even though they are improving I just can’t see them being able to live with Australia over the eighty minutes. I expect the Wallabies to round off their summer internationals three for three and defeat a gallant Georgian team by around the twenty points mark.
My Australia v Georgia match winner prediction: Australia to win!
✔️ Australia v Georgia Betting Tips
In this part of my prediction guide to the meeting of Australia and Georgia, I am going to share with you three of the best bets to place on the match. Please be sure to always gamble responsibly whenever you do place a bet however, and never bet more than you can afford.
1️⃣Match Winner: Australia to Win
The fact that Australia are overwhelming favourites to defeat Georgia in this Test match means that you are not going to see any great returns from a straight match-winner bet that you place on Joe Schmidt’s team. It could also turn into an embarrassing bet to have done if Georgia go on and provide us with one of the biggest shocks in Rugby.
However, I don’t think they will, so if you want to place a match-winner bet on Australia to beat Georgia you can at odds of 1.05 at GoldenBet Sport.
2️⃣ Asian Handicap Winner: Australia (-18.5)
The Asian Handicap Market may be the way to go if you want to bet on Australia to win the match against Georgia. The Wallabies should really win this match quite comfortably, so perhaps you could think about betting on the Aussies with an -18.5-point handicap. This will lengthen the odds offered to you when placing a bet on Australia to win. To win the bet, though, you would need Australia to win by at least 19 points.
To bet on Australia in the Asian Handicap betting market, you can find odds of 1.92 at Directionbet.
3️⃣ Highest Scoring Half - Second Half
The Georgians will probably make life very difficult for Australia for the first half, maybe the first sixty minutes, as they try to use their obvious forward strength to disrupt the flair and skill of the Australians. I can’t see the Georgians being able to stop the Aussies for the whole game, however, and I can see the co-ordinated back play of the Wallabies cutting loose in the second half with their incisive runs and greater ability to move the ball through the hands.
If you think the second half will be the higher scoring half, you can find odds of 1.91 at Goldenbet Sports.
