Gameweek 18 of the 2023/24 Premier League will take place over the course of four days, between Thursday, 21st December and Christmas Eve. As the excitement builds, Betinireland will feature insights and updates on this matches. The standout game will see Arsenal visit Anfield for a mouthwatering top of the table clash, while Wolves and Chelsea will contest the first EPL match on Christmas Eve since 1995. But which teams will enjoy a successful start to the festive period?
My Prediction: 🏆 Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Man United, Fulham, Luton, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Wolves to win / Spurs and Everton to draw ⚽
Christmas Fixtures Matchday 18 – Overview
Let’s start by taking a look at the nine fixtures for gameweek 18 (Man City v Brentford has been postponed due to the former’s involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup). I’ll also provide some expert betting tips for each encounter!
Date | Match | Tip |
---|---|---|
21st December | Crystal Palace v Brighton | Crystal Palace to win and under 2.5 goals |
22nd December | Aston Villa v Sheffield United | Aston Villa to win with a handicap of -1.75 goals |
23rd December | West Ham v Man United | Man United to win and under 2.5 goals |
23rd December | Fulham v Burnley | Fulham to win and both teams to score |
23rd December | Luton v Newcastle | Luton to win |
23rd December | Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth | Bournemouth to win and both teams to score |
23rd December | Tottenham v Everton | Back the draw |
23rd December | Liverpool v Arsenal | Arsenal to win and both teams to score |
24th December | Wolves v Chelsea | Wolves to win and under 2.5 goals |
Crystal Palace v Brighton
Struggling Brighton have taken just 11 points from the last 30 available to them, while they’ve recorded a single win in six away matches since Manchester United 3-0 on September 16th on September 16th. While Palace have only won once at Selhurst Park this season and lost their last four games at home, these defeats have been by a narrow margin, while the Seagulls haven’t beat them on the road since March 2019. Overall, I think there’s value in backing the Eagles to beat Brighton with under 2.5 goals scored in the game at the competitive price of 7.50 with Dachbet Sports.

Crystal Palace to Win and Under 2.5 goals | 7.50 | 6.50 | 6.50 | 6.50 | 7.00 |
Aston Villa v Sheffield United
Villa could move top of the table (for 24 hours at least) with a win over Sheffield United, as Unai Emery’s men go in search of their 16th successive home victory. As for the Blades, they’re winless on the road so far in 2023/24, losing seven of their eight away games and conceding 22 goals in total. They’ve also scored just four goals during this sequence, with Villa striker Ollie Watkins having netted the same amount on his travels this season. So, consider backing Villa to win with a handicap of -1.75 goals at price of 1.67 with TonyBet.

West Ham vs Man Utd
United earned their first draw of the campaign at Anfield at the weekend, while they’ve now lost just one of their last six away games in the Premier League (since a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on September 3rd). The Red Devils are certainly more resilient and well-organised on the road, and this should serve them well against a Hammers side that averages just 42.2% possession this season and struggles to control games. Overall, this should be a low-scoring affair, and I’m backing Man United to win with under 2.5 goals scored at a price of 7.00 with LegendPlay.

Man United to Win With Under 2.5 Goals Scored | 7.00 | 6.50 | 7.00 | 7.00 | 7.00 |
Fulham v Burnley
After scoring just 10 goals in their first 12 EPL games this season, Fulham have plundered 16 in their last five (including successive 5-0 wins over Forest and Wolves). However, striker Raul Jimenez will miss out after being sent off against Newcastle, while Burnley have not conceded more than three goals in any of their eight away games so far. They’ve also earned more points on the road than at home, so I expect this to be a relatively tight game. Overall, I’m narrowly tipping Fulham to win and both sides to score at a price of 3.50 with Dachbet.

Fulham to Win and Both Teams to Score | 3.50 | 3.40 | 3.26 | 3.40 | 3.40 |
Luton v Newcastle
While Luton have lost five of their eight EPL home games, these defeats have all been by a single goal. So, although the Magpies’ form is improving and their injury crisis is now easing, they’re unlikely to have things all their own way at Kenilworth Road. Newcastle have also won just once on the road all season, while they’ve lost their last three away games and conceded nine goals. They have an EFL Cup quarterfinal to contend with this week too, so genuinely I think there’s value in backing Luton to win outright at a price of 5.00 with Betway.

Luton to Win | 5.00 | 5.00 | 4.70 | 4.60 | 4.75 |
Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth
Forest boss Steve Cooper is under pressure after a run of six defeats in seven games, while his side remains winless at the City Ground since November 5th. Conversely, the Cherries have embarked on a superb run of form that culminated in an historic 3-0 win at Old Trafford, with Bournemouth unbeaten in five home and away. They’ve won their last three games on the road too, while in-form striker Dominic Solanke now has eight EPL goals this season. So, I’m tipping Bournemouth to win and both sides to score at a price of 4.54 with Betiton.

---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bournemouth to Win and Both Teams to Score | 4.50 | 4.50 | 4.54 | 4.33 | 4.50 |
Tottenham v Everton
Everton are among the form teams in the English Premier League, having taken 22 points from the last 30 available to them (only Aston Villa have taken more during the previous 10 matches). While Spurs have bounced back from a five-match winless streak by thumping Newcastle and beating Nottingham Forest, they’re currently lacking control in their play and will be without creative outlets Giovani Lo Celso and James Maddison against the Toffees. Given this and Everton’s excellent defensive organisation, there’s value in backing the draw here at a price of 4.20 with LegendPlay.

Liverpool v Arsenal
While Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 10 EPL games and have only lost once in their previous 28 matches since April 1st, they remain unconvincing in the defensive and middle thirds of the pitch. These failings were borne out during the 0-0 home draw against Manchester United, during which they struggled to unlock an organised defence and became ragged as the match wore on. As for Arsenal, they continue to grind out results and have kept four clean sheets in eight Premier League away games through 2023/24. So, I’m backing the Gunners to win and both sides to score at a price of 5.00 with LegendPlay.
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Arsenal to Win and Both Teams to Score | 4.75 | 4.75 | 4.71 | 4.50 | 5.00 |
Wolves v Chelsea
Wolves have become a difficult side to defeat at home under the stewardship of Gary O'Neil, as they remain unbeaten in six at Molineux since September 16th. Unfortunately for the Blues, Chelsea have struggled to find such consistency either home or away, as they’ve won two and lost three of their previous six Premier League games. They’ve also lost their last three matches on the road, scoring just twice and conceding eight times during this sequence. Wolves are also well organised and boast an effective press, so I’m tipping them to win with under 2.5 goals at a price of 7.50 with TonyBet.

Matchday 18 Accumulator Betting
Accumulator betting may provide something of a challenge in gameweek 18 of the Premier League, especially with matches such as Arsenal vs Liverpool so difficult to call. However, there may be value in building an ambitious five-fold acca that backs Aston Villa, Man United, Fulham, Bournemouth and Wolves to win outright. This can unlock the extended price of 56.00 with TonyBet.
