We are now down to the Final of the 2022 Ladbrokes Masters tournament, and we will soon know who will be crowned the Champion of this prestigious event. The 2021 edition was won by Jonny Clayton, but he will not be defending his title this time around as he was knocked out in the semi-finals. The two players who are battling it out for the trophy have never won The Masters, so, whatever happens, we will have a brand new winner, which is great for the sport.
Semi-Finals Results
In the table that you can see below, you can find the results of the two Semi-Finals matches. The Final, just like the two matches in the Semi-Finals, is the best of 21 legs, meaning that the first player to reach 11 will be crowned the 2022 Ladbrokes Masters Champion.

Match Prediction for Dave Chisnall vs Joe Cullen
Dave Chisnall has played some impressive darts throughout this tournament, and he put in another impressive performance against the defending champion, Jonny Clayton. Early on in the match, the man from St. Helens found himself two legs behind, but he did not let this slow start get the better of him, and won three legs on the trot to go in at the first break with a slender lead. After the break, he did not let up and built on this lead with some top check outs, and Clayton could just not keep up. Chisnall has been hitting 100+ checkouts for fun in this event, so he is never truly out of a leg.
Joe Cullen made it into the final with an 11-8 win over José de Sousa. Everyone predicted a pretty close contest in this match, and this is what we got. Cullen was a little bit nervous towards the end and missed more doubles than he usually would, but this is understandable as his first ever televised final was on the line.
In our opinion, Cullen has been the most impressive player in this tournament, beating Daryl Gurney, Gary Anderson, Michael van Gerwen, and José de Sousa on his route to the final. The latter three are ranked 6th, 3rd, and 7th in the world, so if he does go on to lift the title, then nobody can say he does not deserve it. In fact, we feel that the two most impressive players throughout the competition are in the final, which is always nice to see.
Chisnall and Cullen have played each other five occasions, and the latter leads the way with a score of 3-2 under his belt. While both players have played really well in this tournament, we have been more impressed by what we have seen from Cullen. Betway has Cullen as the slight favourite to win with odds of 1.80, while Chisnall has been priced at odds of 2.00. We feel that the odds are fair and believe that Cullen will come out on top in a tight match.
Our match prediction: Joe Cullen to win.
