Armagh v Tyrone Prediction
Armagh narrowly avoided relegation to Division 2 of the National League by taking a point against Kerry in their final match. In that game, which was a brilliant game of football played at championship pace, Kerry raced into a 10-point lead, only for Armagh to show the courage they have become synonymous for in recent years and fight back. In fact, Armagh will be disappointed not to have won the match, again showing that lack of a killer instinct that has haunted them in this year’s league by throwing away the chance to clinch the win.
Tyrone, for their part, have looked in disarray at times during their Division 2 campaign. They finished 5th, only winning 2 of their 7 games as Malachy O’Rourke’s team struggled after a good run in 2025 that took them all the way to an All-Ireland semi-final. There is undoubtedly quality in the county after their back-to-back All-Ireland U20 successes in 2024 and 25, but so far this year it has been a struggle for O’Rourke and his team to get any kind of consistency.
Armagh look that bit further ahead than Tyrone at the moment, so, while it may be foolish to write off a Tyrone team preparing for the heat of an Ulster Championship match, our Armagh v Tyrone match prediction is for an Armagh win.

⚡ Armagh v Tyrone Betting Tips
At this stage of our Armagh v Tyrone prediction page we are going to share some Armagh v Tyrone betting tips ahead of what could be a cracking opener to this year’s Ulster SFC. If you have some free bet offers to use or just want to have a bet on what is a huge match. Hopefully, these tips might come in useful.
- Tip 1: Armagh to win: based on form
This is some match to begin this year’s Ulster SFC with, as Armagh look to finally win an Ulster title under Kieran McGeeney. All-Ireland champions in 2024, Armagh have narrowly lost the last 3 Ulster finals, twice on penalties. They looked good at times during the league, with their major issue during the league, their inability to fully punish sides when they were on top. If they can improve that area of their play, they will be an even bigger threat to the likes of Kerry and Donegal later on in the championship. Matches between these two have been notoriously tough and hard to call, and we might get another classic on April 12th, but as things stand, it is hard to look past Armagh for the win.
If you want to bet on Armagh, you can get a price of 1.44 with BoyleSports on Kieran McGeeney’s team booking their place in an Ulster quarterfinal against Fermanagh.
- Tip 2: Tyrone +3 Handicap Betting:
For all of Tyrone’s apparent issues during the league, now that we have reached the championship, it is difficult to completely rule out a marked improvement from Malachy O’Rourke’s team. The sight of Armagh jerseys in an Ulster SFC match could get the juices flowing for Tyrone, and it would be no shock to anyone to see them lift their game for Armagh on April 12th. Whether that is enough to get them a win over Armagh is doubtful at this stage, but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Tyrone beat their handicap mark of +3 and push Armagh all the way. If they can do that, they will at least have something to build on before the start of the All-Ireland series at the end of May.
To bet on Tyrone to beat the handicap, you can get a price of 1.91 with BoyleSports.
- Tip 3: Over 2.5 goals:
Tyrone hit 7 goals in their league campaign and might need to raise a few green flags to have any hopes of beating Armagh. Armagh only scored 4 throughout their 7 matches but coughed up a number of other goal chances. If they can find form in front of goal, we could be in a high-scoring affair when the sides clash in Armagh.
Armagh Squad Form
Armagh survived on the final day of the league by drawing with Kerry after a great game with the All-Ireland champions. Kieran McGeeney’s men finished on 5 points after 2 wins and a draw, but they were competitive in all of their games, with their 4-point loss to Donegal the biggest defeat they faced in the league. Oisín Conaty will be vital once again this year for Armagh, as will the likes of Ross McQuillan, Oisín O’Neill, Cian McConville and Jarly Óg Burns.
Tyrone Squad Form
Tyrone never challenged for an immediate return to Division 1 this year, finishing 5th in Division 2 on 5 points. Their only wins came against Cavan and Offaly, while they drew with Kildare. Darragh Canavan, whose plans to travel to Australia were cancelled, will be vital for any hopes Tyrone have this year, as will the midfield duo of Brian Kennedy and Con Kilpatrick. Ethan Jordan has been a bright spark in the scoring stakes for the team, so it will be interesting to see if he can continue the form he has shown during the league.
