Kerry will travel to Clare for the Munster Senior Football Championship semi-final on Saturday, April 25th.

The Kingdom are the defending Munster and All-Ireland champions, while they’ve also defeated Clare in the previous three provincial finals. They’re the overwhelming favourites to win again next weekend, and we’ve produced our own Clare v Kerry semi-final prediction below.

🏆 Clare vs Kerry Prediction

Kerry’s three consecutive Munster final wins over Clare have been by a combined margin of 32 points, while they’ve scored an impressive nine goals during this sequence. Incredibly, Clare haven’t beaten the Kingdom in the provincial championships since July 1992, when they triumphed in the final by four points.

Star forward David Clifford struck two penalties in last season’s four-goal Munster final thrashing of Clare, while he was also the All-Ireland Championship topscorer (8-62). He continues to lead the line with distinction, while four-time All Star Sean O’Shea starred during the recent Division 1 campaign and contributed 33 points overall.

Despite their recent provincial form, Clare spent their third successive season in Division 3 of the National League in 2026. What’s more, the Banner Men escaped relegation to the fourth tier by just a single point, losing four of their seven matches and two in front of their own fans. They even had the division’s worst defensive record, conceding 159 points in seven matches at a rate of 22.7 per game.

So although Clare have home advantage and Kerry struggled with their kickout strategy against Donegal in the Division 1 final, the gap between the two sides is simply too big. Kerry’s deep and varied attack may well overwhelm the Clare defence, and we’re picking the Kingdom to win comfortably at Cusack Park.

OUR PREDICTION: 🏆 KERRY TO WIN 🏆

💯 Clare vs Kerry Betting Odds

Kerry are priced as short as 1.03 by BoyleSports in the 1x2 market, with these odds implying a 97.1% win probability. Conversely, you can back Clare with the same bookmaker at odds of 10.00, so they have just a 10.0% chance of prevailing in Ennis. The draw is priced at 19.00 and has a 5.3% probability of occurring.

Although these odds are fairly accurate, they unlock a combined implied probability value of 112.4%, which indicates a bookmaker margin of over 10%. This is noticeably high and suggests that there’s minimal value in betting on the outright winner at Cusack Park.

✔️ Clare vs Kerry Betting Tips

While win market betting may not be particularly profitable here, the brands covered in our bookmaker reviews offer a range of alternative lines. So, we’ve prepared some Clare vs Kerry betting tips to help you identify the best value markets.

  • Tip 1: Back Kerry With a -11 Point Handicap: Since June 2018, Kerry and Clare have contested six provincial matches, with the Kingdom winning them all of them by a combined margin of 80 points. This equates to an average winning margin of 13.3 points per game. It should also be noted that Kerry operate at a much higher level in the Allianz National League, while Clare had the most porous defence in the whole of Division 3 through 2026. So, consider backing Kerry to win here with a -11 point handicap, at odds of 1.83 with BoyleSports.
  • Tip 2: Pick David Clifford as an Anytime Goalscorer: Kerry’s David Clifford is the ultimate clutch player, notching 2-14 in the Kingdom’s two provincial matches in 2025 before top-scoring in the All-Ireland SFC. He also struck four of Kerry’s 11 goals during this year’s National League campaign, including one in the Divisional final defeat against Donegal. Overall, he has gone 6–58 in 15 career Munster Championship matches, and Clifford always offers excellent value in the anytime goalscorer market.
  • Tip 3: Bet Over 46.5 Points Being Scored: We expect the consensus totals betting line to be set at 46.5 here, with Clare’s seven National League matches yielding 322 points at an average of 46.0 per game. Although Kerry’s eight Division 1 encounters yielded just 43.2 points per game, the individual quality of their attacking players may be too much for a struggling Clare defence to handle. A total of 53 points were scored when the two sides met in the 2025 Munster final too, so get on over 46.5 points being scored here.

📈 Clare Squad Form

Clare’s winless run against Kerry stretches back to the summer of 1992, while their 11-point defeat in the 2025 final highlighted the gulf in class that exists between the two sides.

Across the 19 National League and Championship matches that they’ve contested since January 2025, Clare have won nine (47.3%) and lost 10. In addition to their Munster Championship final defeat last season, the Banner Men lost all three of their All-Ireland group stage matches against Down, Monaghan and Louth.

This highlights a lack of consistency and quality at the highest level, adding further justification to the lopsided Clare v Kerry betting odds.

⚽Kerry Squad Form

If we analyse Kerry’s Championship and Allianz League form since the beginning of 2025, we can see that the Kingdom have won 17 of the 25 matches that they’ve contested (68.0%). This sequence includes a run of eight victories in nine Munster and All-Ireland games through 2025.

It also includes a third successive Munster final win over Clare, which means that they now remain unbeaten against the Banner Men for over 33 years.

Kerry will also have a strong playing squad to choose from next week, with talisman David Clifford fit and set to start alongside the increasingly prolific Sean O’Shea in attack.

👕 Clare vs Kerry Predicted Lineups

Clare’s attacking trio of Mark McInerney, Eoin Cleary and Aaron Griffin should also be fit to start against Kerry, after contributing 5-105 between them during their D3 National League campaign. Below, you’ll find our predicted lineups for Clare vs Kerry in the 2026 Munster Championships.
