US Open Tennis Betting Odds 2025 – Outright Winner

Unsurprisingly, both Sinner and Sabalenka are the pre-tournament favourites to retain their US Open titles in 2025. Currently, Sinner can be backed at average odds of 2.00, which implies a 50.0% probability of success despite the competitive nature of the men's singles field.

The women’s field is slightly more competitive, with the favourite Sabalenka priced at around 3.50. These odds imply just a 28.57% probability of success, while Wimbledon champion Iga Świątek can be backed to prevail at an average price of 4.00. So, the Pole has a 25% chance of success. Here’s a concise summary of the latest US Open tennis betting odds.

US Open Tennis Betting Tips

Whether you intend to bet on the men’s or women’s singles, it’s important to leverage expert US Open betting tips to your advantage. Here are some insights to help inform your ATP and WTP picks in 2025.

US Open ATP Betting Tips

  • Tip 1: Back Sinner and Alvarez in the Outright Market:
  • Sinner and Alcaraz have claimed the previous seven Grand Slam titles between them, while they’ve also won 81 of the 94 matches they’ve contested in 2025. The odds also imply a 84.72% probability that either Sinner or Alcaraz will triumph in the 2025 US Open. So, consider backing both players in the outright market while distributing your stake to maximise your chances of winning.

  • Tip 2: Target Hard Court Specialists:
  • If you want to bet some of your bankroll on an outside outright pick, be sure to target hard-court specialists like Ben Shelton. The home favourite reached the last four at Flushing Meadows in 2023, while he has won 87 of his 128 career matches on hard courts (67.96%). His average first serve speed of 201.9km/h in 2025 will also act as a huge weapon in New York, while he’s priced at 26.00 to win outright with the best betting sites.

  • Tip 3: Bet on Jannik Sinner’s Consistency:
  • Jannik Sinner is the ATP Tour’s most consistent player, winning 71% of his matches in 2025 in straight sets. This can inform numerous match betting picks, including the over/under on games and sets. Conversely, Alcaraz has only won 52% of his matches without dropping a set, and his encounters are likely to last longer even during the formative rounds.

US Open WTA Betting Tips

  • Tip 1: Back Sabalenka Early at 3.70 with Paripesa:
  • While Sabalenka isn’t the overwhelming favourite to win the WTP Singles, the world number one is in superb form and has won 48 of her 59 matches in 2025 (81.35%). This win-rate increases to 84% on hard courts, while her average of 3.38 breaks per match supplements a strong service game. Consider backing Sabalenka early at odds of 3.70 with Paripesa.

  • Tip 2: Value Consistency in All Win Markets:
  • Many players showcase inconsistency during the year and across different surfaces. However, players like Sabalenka and Iga Świątek have no such issues. Świątek has triumphed in 80.0% of her matches in 2025 and across the previous 12 months, while her career win-rate on hard courts is 77.3%. So, she also offers immense value as an outright pick and match winner in NY.

  • Tip 3: Consider Form and Returning Ability:
  • Form is always key, as players who are currently outperforming their career statistics offer genuine value. For example, Coco Gauff has won 71.0% of her hard-court games during the previous 12 months, up from her career success rate of 68.6%. She’s also the best returner on the WTA Tour, converting 59.5% of her break points and averaging 3.91 breaks per match. She has all the tools to win multiple matches in New York, and also offers outright value at 7.00.

How we Select Our US Open Betting Tips

If you want to act on our tips and bet on the U.S. Open tennis, you may be wondering how we arrived at our conclusions. There are several factors that contribute to our analysis, from the prevailing conditions to the form and pedigree of the competing players.

  • Surface & Conditions at Flushing Meadows
  • The US Open is played on hard courts, which typically offer consistent bounce but are noticeably quick. Positioning is therefore key on hard courts, while players must have excellent footwork, movement and ball-striking ability. Hard courts can take a huge physical toll on the body, while temperatures at Flushing Meadows have been known to peak at 35C in recent years. So, players with exceptional stamina and a good injury record will be tipped to do well here.

  • Player Form & Momentum
  • We’ve already spoken about the importance of form and momentum going into the US Open. Despite his withdrawal with illness in the recent final of the Cincinnati Open, for example, Sinner has won 56 of his 63 matches over the last 12 months (88.9%), while his win-rate on hard courts during this time increases to 94%. This level of form and performance gives players a competitive edge in the US Open, notwithstanding any physical issues.

  • Track Record at the US Open
  • We also analyse each player’s track record at Flushing Meadows before offering betting tips on the US Open tennis. For example, 2025 WTA favourite Sabalenka has won 28 of her 34 matches at Flushing Meadows (82.35%), while Świątek has an 80.0% win-rate here and even won the title in 2022. Regardless, be sure to conduct your analysis of each player’s past performances in NY while measuring this against their current form. You can also review recent performances at the Australian Open, which is also played on hard courts.

  • Spotting Value Bets & Underdogs
  • When engaging in US Open tennis betting, it’s important to seek out value bets. This often means determining which underdogs have a higher probability of winning than the odds suggest. Take Coco Gauff, for example, who, as we have already touched on, is currently outperforming her career win-rate on hard courts and is an excellent returner of serve. She won in NY in 2023, too, and can be backed to win at 7.00 with William Hill in 2025.

  • Match Format & Physical Demands
  • Moving and sliding on hard courts places a strain on players’ ankles and knees, so injury-prone competitors may be at a disadvantage here. This is especially true in an age where drawn-out baseline rallies are prevalent, with men’s Grand Slam matches now 25% longer on average than they were in 1999. With extreme heat also prevalent in NY in August and September, players with a history of injury or withdrawals may offer less value overall.

US Open Tennis Betting Markets

Your choice of the US Open best bets will be based on numerous factors, including the published odds and your market analysis. However, some US Open bet types and markets are more popular than others, including the following:

Outright Winner

Outright betting requires you to pick the winner of a particular tournament, including the US Open. This market is usually competitively priced, due to the number of potential (and likely) winners in both the men’s and women’s fields. Outright 2025 US Open tennis betting odds have already been released by our recommended bookmakers, but note that tournament favourites are likely to see their prices shorten over time based on betting volumes.

Match Winner

Also known as moneyline betting, this allows you to pick the winner of an individual match at the US Open. This is a highly appealing market, as competitive matches cannot end in a tie. Because of this, moneyline bets unlock higher implied probability values on average. Players like Jannik Sinner also offer enhanced value in this market, due to their incredible consistency and ability to dominate matches.

Handicap Betting

Handicap betting enables you to back heavy betting favourites at enhanced odds. Interestingly, the seeded nature of the US Open separates the top players during the early rounds, creating the potential for significant mismatches and profitable handicaps. The key is to leverage such markets strategically, while analysing the players in question to set the handicap at the right level.

Set Betting

You can also handicap players when betting on individual sets during tennis matches. There are other iterations of set betting, such as the over/under on how many sets will be completed in a particular match. Our recommended sportsbooks may publish different totals as individual betting lines, and you’ll have to select one before deciding whether the actual number of sets played will be over or under this.

US Open Key Facts

The US Open is the second oldest tennis major, having initially launched back in 1881 and four years after Wimbledon. The tournament undoubtedly has a rich history, and tennis at the US Open has produced some incredible moments down the years. Here are some of the competition's key facts and trivia:

  • This US Open Will be the Richest:
  • The 2025 US Open will once again offer the largest prize purse in professional tennis history. The tournament will be the first to pay out $90 million in total player compensation, breaking an initial record set in 2024.

  • The Longest Ever US Open Match:
  • The first round clash in 2024 between Karen Khachanov and Dan Evans lasted an astonishing five hours and 35 minutes. This made it the longest ever encounter in the history of the US Open, surpassing the previous record from 1992 by nine minutes.

  • The Longest Ever Wait for a US-Born Champion:
  • It’s now approaching 22 years since an American national won the US Open, with Andy Roddick last achieving this honour back in 2003. This is the longest ever dry spell for US natives, who dominated the tournament before the Open Era.

US Open Tennis Past Winners

When betting on outright men’s US Open odds at Flushing Meadows, it’s important to analyse past winners and their performances. Jannik Sinner will arrive in New York as the defending men’s champion, while Novak Djokovic is the only active player who has won multiple titles (three) during the previous 10 years.

In the Ladies’ Singles, 2025 favourite Aryna Sabalenka is the defending champion, after she defeated Jessica Pegula in straight sets last year. The Belarusian is one of nine different winners since 2015, with Japan’s Naomi Osaka the only player to prevail twice during this period (in 2018 and 2020).

History of the tournament

There have been 144 historic iterations of the US Open Tennis, ever since the tournament was founded in Queens in 1881. The first ever renewal was held in August 1881 on grass courts at the Newport Casino in Newport, Rhode Island, although the women’s singles weren’t initially contested until 1887.

The first ever men’s champion was the American-born Richard Sears, who ultimately triumphed in the first seven US Opens. Although each of these titles came during the Amateur era, he’s one of the three most successful tennis players of all time (alongside fellow seven-time champions and countrymen Bill Tilden and William Larned).

In the open era, Pete Sampras, Jimmy Connors and the legendary Roger Federer are the most successful male US Open players with five titles apiece. 2023 winner Novak Djokovic has won four US Opens, as is the most successful active player, while no other player arriving in New York this year has more than one title to their name.
