🎲 1000 Guineas Betting Odds

The ante post 1000 guineas odds make Desert Flower the heavy betting favourite in 2025. She has won all four of her career races to date, most recently at Newmarket by 5½ lengths over one mile. But which other runners offer potential win or each-way value with Ireland’s best betting sites?

💡 1000 Guineas Betting Tips

Like most Group 1 races, the 1000 Guineas is usually incredibly difficult to call. In fact, just four starting favourites have prevailed in the last 20 years, and none since Minding in 2016. So, I’ve prepared some expert 1000 guineas betting tips to help you make the most informed selections:

  • Focus on Each-Way Betting: Not only have just four starting favourites won the 1000 Guineas since 2005, but seven of the previous eight victors have been priced 10.00 or greater. So, there’s obvious value to prioritising each-way picks here, particularly those from the stables of Aidan O’Brien and Richard Hannon. Some 22 of O’Brien’s 39 entrants since 2005 have either won or placed, producing an each-way LSP of +14.94. Hannon’s each-way LSP is even higher at +31.70 during the period, including one winner and three placed finishers from 12 runs.
  • Prioritise Aidan O’Brien’s Runners: O’Brien will field at least four runners in the 1000 Guineas, including the second favourite Lake Victoria. He certainly has an outstanding record in the 1000 Guineas, recording seven wins and 15 placed finishers from a total of just 39 runs since 2005. During the previous five seasons, O’Brien’s stable has also yielded 38 placed finishers from 101 runs (37.62%) at the Rowley Mile course, so we’d recommend paying additional attention to his runners this year.
  • Look for Each Runner’s Debut Class: Intriguingly, the trend factor that has produced the most winners and demonstrated the best LSP (+100.35) since 2005 is when runners debuted in a Class 3 race. This suits the current ante post favourite Desert Flower, who made a winning debut in the C3 Rossdales British EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Newmarket on July 13th, 2024. We’d recommend that you pay attention to historic form and the debut performances of your potential picks.

✔️ How we Select Our 1000 Guineas Betting Tips

Before you engage in 1000 guineas ante post betting, it’s important to understand the key factors that directly impact outcomes. These same factors also influence my picks and tips at Betinireland, but which ones are the most crucial ahead of this year’s 1000 Guineas?

  • Experience in G1 Races: Form is always a key consideration when picking 1000 Guineas winners, across both their recent and historic performances. You should pay particular attention to how runners have fared in similar Group 1 flat races, as this will reveal their ability to compete in large and high-quality fields.
  • RPR Ratings: In addition to assessing G1 experience, you should also check the most recent ‘Racing Post Rating’ (RPR) for each competing runner ahead of the 1000 Guineas. The RPR is adjusted after every race and gives you an insight into how the runners should be ranked, based on form and a direct comparison with other entrants.
  • Distance: You should also consider each runner’s form over the relevant 1000 Guineas distance, which is one mile (or 1,609 metres). This is particularly important given the nature of the Rowley Mile course, which has an uphill run to the finish. Runners that have a proven ability to run and win over a mile will have a definite advantage here.
  • Going: The typical spring going at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile is good or good-to-soft. So, you should also see how runners usually fare in such conditions, with this a key metric when analysing form. Horses that have fared well in the relevant going (especially at Newmarket) may offer enhanced win or each-way value. This is a key consideration when engaging in any type of horse racing betting.
  • Win and Each-Way LSP: Win and each-way LSP values relay your average profit or loss when backing a specific trainer or jockey within a specific timeframe. As we’ve touched on, Aidan O’Brien and Richard Hannon have produced the best average each-way LSP in the 1000 Guineas since 2005, while the latter’s win LSP is +55.00 during the same period.

🏇 1000 Guineas Predictions

In addition to this 1000 guineas betting guide, I’ve also made some more detailed predictions ahead of the 2025 race. You can read this below and make your race predictions.

⚡Best Bookmakers for 1000 Guineas

Before placing your bets on the 1000 Guineas in 2025, you’ll also need to identify a licensed and trustworthy betting site. Here are three of the best options according to our wide-ranging bookmaker reviews.

William Hill

Wiliam-hill-1000-guineas-banner

William Hill is arguably the market-leading betting site for horse racing in the UK and Ireland, including the 1000 Guineas. It certainly offers some of the most competitive 1000 Guineas odds, while the brand will pay out on the first three places at odds of 1.20.

William Hill offers the ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’ on all UK and Irish horse racing too. This ensures that you’ll be paid out at either the SP or the price you’ve taken, depending on which one is higher. During our William Hill review, we also found a welcome offer for new bettors; wager €10 and Get €40 in Free Bets

LeoVegas

leovegas-1000-guineas-betting-banner

Although the 1000 Guineas odds at LeoVegas Sports are slightly less competitive, the site also pays out each-way wagers at 1.20 across the first three places. LeoVegas live streams high-profile horse races too, enabling you to place more informed live wagers if you wish.

The welcome offer at LeoVegas comprises a 100% profit boost up to €100. To qualify, you must credit your new account with a minimum of €10 while also wagering at odds of 2.00 or higher. This will unlock most 1000 Guineas markets, although ante-post favourite Desert Flower is currently priced at just 1.80 here. You can learn more about this bonus by reading our up-to-date LeoVegas Sports review.

PariPesa

paripesa-1000-guineas-betting-banner

Although the Paripesa brand isn’t as renowned as either William Hill or LeoVegas Sports, it offers extensive coverage of horse racing. When betting in the 1000 Guineas here, for example, you can place competitive forecast, exacta and trifecta bets, or predict a runner’s precise finishing position in the race.

When engaging in horse racing betting, you can benefit from several promotional offers. These include a recurring 50% reload bonus and weekly cashback of up to 3%. As a new PariPesa customer, you’re also eligible to receive a 100% first deposit match up to €100.

📊 Newmarket Racecourse Tips

This race is the second of Britain’s five ‘Classics’ (behind the 2000 Guineas), and the first of just two that’s only open to fillies. The 1000 Guineas, which was inaugurated in 1814, is only open to three-year-old runners, who must compete over the iconic one-mile course at Rowley Mile.

This is a wide and galloping track, which initially suits faster horses and those who like to race prominently. However, the course also features a 10 slightly uphill furlong run-in, so runners who start quickly may well fade as they approach the finish line. This means that competitors with experience of competing over the 1000 Guineas distance and the Rowley Mail tend to fare well.

This is further borne out by the fact that eight of the last 20 1000 Guineas winners won having raced at Rowley last time out. Leopardstown has also produced three race winners during this timeframe, with the track here wide and renowned for having a slight rise after the final bend.

Interestingly, the worst-performing trend factor since 2005 is when runners ran on good-to-firm ground last time out. This produced a record of 0-62 and a negative LSP, so try to focus on runners that have raced recently and on good or good-to-soft ground when analysing the market.

📈 1000 Guineas Jockey & Trainer Statistics

When appraising historic jockey and trainer performances, it’s important to focus on previous iterations of the 1000 Guineas. Aidan O’Brien has dominated the 1000 Guineas since 2005, fielding seven winners and 15 placed finishers from a total of 39 runs. Five of the last 10 victors have come from O’Brien’s stable, including a run of three successive wins between 2019 and 2021. Across all races at Rowley Mile since 2020, some 38 of O’Brien’s 101 entrants (37.62%) have placed.

No other trainers have fielded multiple 1000 Guineas winners during the previous 20 race iterations. However, Richard Hannon has performed relatively well and produced a positive each-way LSP of +31.70.

🎯 BetInIreland’s Final Say

Given that only four starting favourites have won the 1000 Guineas since 2005, it can be hard to predict an outright winner for this race. This is why each-way betting is so highly recommended, as it enables you to cover more potential incomes and increase your chances of winning.

It’s also wise to choose one of our licensed and recommended betting sites, as this will unlock the most competitive odds, markets and free bet offers. Also, remember to check out our expert predictions and tips before picking your winners.
