As of writing, neither side has begun their Euro 2024 campaign. Spain will play Croatia first, while Italy play Albania before they meet on matchday 2. This is an intriguing group with defending champions Italy, one of the Euro 2024 favourites, and Spain and Croatia, who always produce in major tournaments. One of these 3 teams will exit at the group stage and if Albania can cause an upset 2 of these teams could exit at the group stage. Spain had a brilliant qualifying campaign with 7 wins in 8 games, with the only defeat coming in a shock away defeat to Scotland 2-0. They won the 2023 Nations League, defeating Croatia 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw. They actually defeated Italy 2-1 in the Nations League semi final. Italy came 2nd in their qualifying group winning 4 drawing 2 and losing 2, losing to England twice 3-1 away from home and 1-2 at home. Italy have been unbeaten since their last defeat to England on the 17th of October, 2023. Since then, they have won 4 and drawn 2, both in qualifiers and friendly matches. Who will get the win, and how have Ireland’s best betting sites priced the potential match outcomes?
Spain vs Italy Prediction
Both sides are full of quality in all areas of the pitch. Luis de la Fuente has included the likes of Manchester City’s Rodri, Pedri of Barcelona, Leipzig’s Dani Olmo and Alex Grimalso, who had the season of his life at Bayer Leverkusen. They'll have to do it without some of their biggest names. Barcelona pair Alejandro Balde and Gavi both miss out through injury, while Kepa Arrizalaga, Pau Cubarsi, Pedro Porro, Jose Gaya, Pau Torres, Marcos Llorente, Oihan Sancet and perhaps most notably, PSG's Marco Asensio are all missing. This is a transitional tournament for the Spanish, with 11 of the players registered having only 10 or fewer caps and only Morata and 38-year-old Jesus Navas managing over 50. Now's the time for new talents to step up. Italy have been a mixed bag since winning Euro 2020. They failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup and finished 2nd in their Euro 2024 qualifying group, losing twice to one of the Euro favourites, England, which could show they are not good enough to win this tournament. However, write Italy off at your peril. They were not one of the favourites in Euro 2020 but went on a brilliant run to the final, defeating England in the final. Italy has a lot of quality on their side. Jorginho and Nicolo Barella are the leaders in midfield, while the likes of Riccardo Calafiori, Gianluca Scamacca and Andrea Cambiaso are fresh faces who have enjoyed great seasons at club level. They are also a squad in transition, with 15 of the 26 having 20 caps or fewer. They have a lot of quality missing, just like Spain. Francesco Acerbi and Giorgio Scalvini were both called up to the preliminary squad, the latter injuring his ACL in Atlanta’s final Serie A fixture of the campaign, while Destiny Udogie, Leonardo Spinazzola, Manuel Locatelli, Sandro Tonali, Marco Verratti, Ciro Immobile, Domenico Berardi and Wilfried Gnonto have all been capped in the last 12 months but are not in the 26 for a mixture of poor form and in Tonali’s case betting charges. This will be a tight game that could go either way, and a lot will depend on how both sides start their Euros on matchday 1, but I am tipping Spain for this one.
Spain to win!

🏅 Spain vs Italy Prediction: Match Winner
The odds for this one are tight, with the selected bookmakers slightly favouring Spain. In the past year, Spain have topped their Euros qualifying group and also won the 2023 Uefa Nations League, defeating Italy 2-1 in the semi finals and beating Croatia 5-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the final, two teams who are now in their group for Euro 2024. It is no surprise to see Spain as slight favourites because of this but this game should be a tight and exhilarating one. The odds for a match winner from selected bookmakers are below.

✔️ Spain vs Italy Betting Tips
There are some intriguingly priced markets associated with the clash between Spain and Italy, as one of the Euro’s favourites, Spain, take on defending champions Italy. But how can you identify the best value markets or successfully leverage combination betting to your advantage? Here are some tips to keep in mind!
- Tip 1: Back Spain to Win: Spain and Italy is an intriguing match in group B of the European championships, with two of the heavyweights of European football going head to head. Both sides are always considered as challengers for any European championship, no matter their form. Spain are a youthful side and had an excellent Euros qualifying campaign. Italy have been a mixed bag since 2021, when they won the rearranged Euro 2020. They failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. They finished 2nd in their Euros qualifiers but suffered two defeats to England. They have been unbeaten since October with 4 wins and 2 draws with 3 of these wins and 1 of these draws coming in friendlies. This game could go either way, and a lot will depend on both sides' opening game, with Spain facing Croatia and Italy facing Albania. Both sides have the quality to go far in the tournament, but their inexperienced squads could hinder them both, especially Spain, who are favoured to go far in this tournament. This could be one of the games of the group stages and I think Spain will win a tight one. Spain should have enough to win this opening game versus Italy, so we are recommending a Spain win with odds of 2.28 from 20Bet Sports. Spain win price of 2.28 with 20Bet-Sports.
- Tip 2: Back Both Teams to Score: As mentioned earlier, both these teams were goal-heavy in their qualifying campaign. Spain scored 25 goals and only failed to score in 1 of their 8 qualifying campaigns. Italy scored 16 goals, also only failing to score in 1 out of their 8 games. Spain conceded 5 goals while Italy conceded 9 goals. Both sides have strong defences, but they have high-quality forwards, and it is likely they will both score in this one. Get both teams to score at the odds price of 1.90 with Sportaza-Sports.
- Tip 3: Back Spain to win and both teams to score: I’ve already touched on how I think Spain will win a tight encounter versus Italy. I also believe that both teams will score in this game, therefore it makes sense to combine these two to get better odds. In their 8 qualifying games Spain won the game with both teams scoring on 3 occasions. Spain last met Italy in the Nations League semi final on 15th June 2023. Spain won this game 2-1, being victorious with both teams scoring. There is a great possibility that this will happen again with Spain winning and both teams scoring. For this, price of 4.70 with Royalistplay Sports. This is a great use of any free bets that you may have.
1️⃣ Spain Euro Update
Spain come into the tournament as one of the favourites despite having a squad that lacks experience. They have some exciting young players, such as Pedri, Nico Williams and 16-year-old Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal.
