Turkey are on the cusp of reaching the UEFA European Championship knockout stages for the first time since their run to the last-four in 2008, and simply need a point to qualify for the round of 16 in second place. As for their final group stage opponents, the Czech Republic are currently the lowest ranked third place team at the tournament, and must win in Hamburg to have any chance of qualifying. This should be a fascinating and evenly-matched contest, especially as Turkey also need a positive result at the Volksparkstadion. But which side will prevail here, and what have Ireland’s best best betting sites had to say?
🏆 Czechia vs Turkey Prediction
Although they only drew with Georgia last time out, Czechia at least flexed their attacking muscles against Euro 2024’s lowest ranked team. In fact, they accumulated the highest xG value of the tournament at the Volksparkstadion (3.16), while striking 27 attempts on goal (12 of which hit the target).
This came after a defensive rearguard against Portugal in Leipzig, during which the Czechs only managed four attempts on goal and failed to find the target once. I expect Ivan Hašek’s men to start on the front foot against Turkey, especially as their opponents have conceded an xG of 2.30 and recovered just 71 balls across their two previous games.
However, although the Turks have been a little open and easy to play through at times, they’ve largely impressed in the attacking third. More specifically, they’ve launched 111 attacks and completed 32 dribbles at Euro 2024, while only seven nations have managed more than their 32 attempts on goal.
Of course, Turkey may be a little more conservative given their status in Group F, whereas the Czechs will have to chase the game at some point if they’re to contend for second or third place. This should help create an open and exciting match at times at the Volksparkstadion, especially if Turkey are able to restore Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler to their starting 11. This could make the difference in a close match, and I’m tipping Turkey to prevail here.

💯 Czechia vs Turkey Prediction Betting Odds
This is one of the toughest matches to call in Euro 2024 so far, with just eight place separating Czechia and Turkey in the latest FIFA rankings. However, you don’t have to wager on the match result, as you can also bet on both teams to score (or not) and predict the over/under on the total number of goals that will be scored in Hamburg. Let’s take a look at how these markets are currently being priced.
🏅 Czechia vs Turkey Prediction: Match Winner
Czechia are the narrow favourites to prevail in the win market, with their average odds of 2.50 implying a 40% probability of a victory for Ivan Hašek’s team. However, you can also back Turkey to triumph at around 2.80 in Hamburg, suggesting that they have a 35.71% chance of defeating Czechia and confirming second place in Group F. The draw is priced at 3.33, implying a 30.03% probability of the match ending in a tie.
Team | Czech Republic to Win | 2.50 | 2.54 | 2.50 | 2.54 | 2.55 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Turkey to Win | 2.88 | 2.80 | 2.80 | 2.80 | 2.88 |
Draw to Win | 3.30 | 3.33 | 3.30 | 3.33 | 3.45 |
⚽ Czechia vs Turkey: Both Teams To Score Odds
Both teams have scored in seven of Czechia’s previous 10 matches, with ‘The Locomotive’ having drawn just a single blank and kept two clean sheets during this sequence. As for Turkey, both sides have found the net in five of their last 10 games. Vincenzo Montella’s side have scored in seven of these matches and draw a blank on three occasions (including against Portugal last time out).

🥅 Czechia vs Turkey: Over/Under Goals Odds
The previous 10 matches contested by Czechia have produced 31 goals in total, at a rate of 3.1 per game. Hašek’s side have scored 20 times during this sequence too, at an average of exactly 2.0 per 90 minutes. Turkey’s last 10 encounters have yielded 30 goals at a rate of 3.0 per 90. However, they’ve conceded 15 of these goals at an average of 1.5 per game.

✔️ Czechia vs Turkey Betting Tips
As the win market odds suggest, this match is incredibly difficult to call. However, there’s plenty of value to be found when betting on Czechia vs Turkey, especially when you explore markets such as BTTS and the over/under on how many goals will be scored during the 90 minutes. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your money!
- Tip 1: Back Turkey to Win: Although Czechia are the pre-game favourites to prevail here, the odds still imply a 35.71% probability of a Turkey victory in Hamburg. There’s no doubt that Montella’s team are naturally more proactive and better in possession, while the return of the precocious Arda Guler (who scored brilliantly in the win over Georgia) will sharpen their cutting edge significantly. So, although they’ll give up chances against the Czechs, there’s value in backing Turkey to win outright at the competitive price of 2.88 with Direction Bet Sport.
- Tip 2: Back BTTS with Over 2.5 Goals: The pre-game odds also imply a 61.72% probability of both teams scoring in Hamburg, which makes sense given the Czech team’s need to win and Turkey’s defensive vulnerability. The Czechs have also scored in nine of their last 10 games. Similarly, there’s a 56.17% of over 2.5 goals being scored here, with the last 20 matches contested by Czechia and Turkey combined producing 61 goals at a rate of 3.05 per 90 minutes. So, consider building a combination bet that backs BTTS and over 2.5 goals being scored during the 90 minutes, at the enhanced price of 2.05 with LegendPlay Sports.
- Tip 3: Back Kerem Aktürkoğlu as an Anytime Goalscorer: Galatasaray’s Kerem Aktürkoğlu now has six international goals to his name, after scoring as a substitute in Turkey’s 3-1 win over Georgia. He certainly has an eye for goal, having scored 15 times in 54 appearance from an attacking midfield position for his club side in 2023/24. I also expect him to start against the Czechs at the Volksparkstadion, so there’s value in backing Aktürkoğlu as an anytime goalscorer here at the competitive price of 3.40 with RoyalistPlay Sports. This is an excellent use of any free bets that you may have!
1️⃣ Czech Republic Update
While Czechia may have arrived in Germany as one of Europe’s in-form nations (they’d won five consecutive matches in the build-up to the tournament), they’ve failed to win either of their Group F games so far. Still, they’ve only lost one of their previous 10 matches overall, and they remain defensively resolute and incredibly difficult to break down. While their tally of 36 attempted tackles is second only to Austria among the sides to have played two Euro 2024 matches, however, they’ll have to open up and take the game to Turkey given their precarious position in the group. Much will depend on the fitness of Patrik Schick, who scored his 20th international goal in just 40 caps in the draw against Georgia but is now a major doubt ahead of the match.

Schick became his country’s record goalscorer at the Euros against Georgia, but he was replaced shortly afterwards with a calf injury and is a major doubt ahead of the Turkey game. If he his passed unfit, either Mojmir Chytil or Schick's clubmate Adam Hlozek are likely to come into the team, but this would be a seismic blow in a match that Czechia need to win if they’re to remain in contention at Euro 2024.

2️⃣ Turkey Update
Turkey are in an advantageous position in Group F at Euro 2024, with their win over Georgia ensuring that a point here will secure safe passage into the round of 16. They’re also guaranteed to finish in second if they win or draw in Hamburg, as their 3-0 loss to Portugal means that they cannot overhaul the group leaders. This disappointing defeat means that the Turks have now won just one of their previous seven matches overall, while they’ve also conceded 14 goals during this run. However, they’ve impressed offensively at Euro 2024, while Real Madrid starlet Arda Guler (who has scored one goal and completed six dribbles in his single start at the tournament) will be one to watch if he’s fit to start.

Italy 0 Turkey 0 | 04.06.24 International Friendly |
Austria 6 Turkey 1 | 26.03.24 International Friendly |
Guler missed out against Turkey with a minor groin strain, but he was fit enough to appear from the bench and should start in Hamburg. Montella has also welcomed back first choice keeper Mert Gunok back into training after a knee injury, but it’s unclear whether he’ll be fit enough to start. Irfan Can Kahveci is also in contention to take his place in the starting 11 for Turkey.
