Brentford have taken just six points from the previous 30 available to them, following a run of two wins and eight defeats in 10 matches. Only Sheffield United (23) have conceded more than Brentford’s 22 goals during this sequence too, which is hugely concerning for a side that was previously renowned for its defensive organisation and competitiveness. This has certainly led to them being more open in recent matches, leading to a high prevalence of goals at both ends of the pitch. The return of De Bruyne and Haaland from relatively long-term injuries means that City will virtually be at full strength for the trip to Brentford. In fact, Swiss defender Manuel Akanji is the only potential absentee with a knee injury, although he did engage in full training in midweek and is at least in contention to appear in the matchday squad.
