As can be seen from the above odds, Mayweather is the favourite to win this fight by a country mile. If you like to do a spot of boxing betting and place €10 on Mayweather to win with a sportsbook such as Bet365, you will walk away with a profit of €0.70 if Mayweather ends up on the winning side.
On the other hand, if you like to take a risk (some might tell you that you are throwing your money down the drain) and place a €10 bet at Bet365 on Paul to win, you will walk away with a profit of €65 if he defies all odds and wins the fight. The fact that you will make only a €0.70 profit if Mayweather wins just goes to show that not many people are giving Logan a chance of causing an upset.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be stepping into the ring in Miami with 50 wins from the 50 fights that he has had, with 27 of those wins coming about courtesy of a knockout. Logan Paul, on the other hand, will be entering into the ring with 0 wins and 1 loss under his belt. Yeah, it is not hard to see why not many are giving him a chance of winning.
The stats would seem to tell us that Mayweather has a huge power advantage thanks to his 54% knockout ratio compared to Paul's 0%. When it comes to height, Paul is 6 inches taller than Mayweather, which also translates into a reach advantage of 4 inches. This reach advantage might help him out as it means he can stay further away from his opponent, but if we are being honest we do not even think that an 8-inch reach advantage will help him here.
Mayweather is 18 years older than Paul, and the latter might be hoping that he can tire his much older opponent out before going in for a knockout blow, but if Mayweather has trained well enough for the fight, he should be easily able to cope with the 8 scheduled rounds.
When it comes to experience, we do not really need to highlight which fighter has the most. Mayweather made his professional boxing debut back in 1996, which is a whole 23 years sooner than Paul, who fought his first professional boxing fight in 2019. Over his career, he has fought in 397 rounds, while Paul has fought just 6.
Mayweather's last fight was against Tenshin Nasukawa on the 31st of December 2018, and he won it in the 1st round courtesy of a knockout. Before that fight, he took on Conor McGregor in August of 2017 and won by a TKO in the 10th round. He had entered that fight against McGregor as the WBC World Welterweight, The Ring Junior Welterweight, and the WBA Super World Welterweight champion, having beaten Andre Berto by unanimous decision on the 12th of September 2015 to retain his titles that he has won against Manny Pacquiao on the 2nd of May 2015.
Meanwhile, Paul's only other fight came against KSI, who is another YouTuber who boxes, and Paul lost that fight by decision. To say that he is an inexperienced boxer would be one of the biggest understatements of the year.
Mayweather's previous 5 fights have taken place over a time frame of 6 years, 8 months, and 1 day which means that he has a fight every 1 year, 4 months and 2 days. In these 5 fights, he took part in 47 rounds, which means that his fights last an average of 9.4 rounds. Like we said, if he has trained properly, he should have no issue lasting the 8 rounds that this fight is scheduled for.
Floyd VS. Logan Pick
Since this is a fight that everyone expects Mayweather to win, placing a bet on him to do so really is not worth it because the odds are so low. There is no point in placing a big bet in order to win pennies because it is just not worth the risk. Something might happen that causes Mayweather to lose the fight, and your money will be lost all so that you could make a miniscule profit.
As this is an exhibition fight, it will not last the usual 12 rounds, it will be just 8. Taking away a third of the rounds is what helped the Roy Jones Jr. and Mike Tyson fight go the distance. We do not believe that Mayweather will go into the ring aiming to knock Paul out, nor do we think that Paul is good enough to knock Mayweather out - 50 better boxers than Paul have tried to do so, and all of them have failed, with more than half of them getting knocked out themselves.
While there will be a number of big punches in this fight, we feel that most of it will be technical fighting and the two men dancing around the ring, which means that there is a good chance that the fight will go the distance. So, this is what we would opt for if we were doing a spot of Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul betting. During the 8 rounds, we feel that Mayweather will land enough significant blows to earn himself the win by decision.
Prediction: Fight to go the distance.
Floyd VS. Logan Best Bet
As we said, we do not think that Floyd will go all guns blazing trying to knock Paul out. Instead, we feel that he will use all of his boxing experience to target certain parts of Paul's body, in an attempt to put him on the canvas for a bit. However, Paul can try and make use of his longer reach to stay away from the damaging body blows that Mayweather will be trying to land to his kidney area.
He will probably not avoid enough of them and land enough of his own to go on to win the fight, but he would probably be quite pleased with himself if he went 8 rounds with Mayweather and was not knocked to the canvas once. So, our boxing betting tip is for Paul to not get knocked down to the canvas.
Best Bet: Paul not to be knocked down.
