William Hill Casino Review (Ireland 2026)
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Over the past few months, readers have sent us a worrying number of complaints about William Hill. Most of them, this one included, say the casino suspended their accounts without giving a reason, after they had verified their identity and deposited. We looked into it, and the pattern holds up.
William Hill does some things well, but we can't recommend a casino while that's going on. Until it is resolved, we are pointing readers to other casinos that meet our standards. You'll find them below:
William Hill Casino carries a bookmaking name that goes back to 1934, with 24/7 chat, Visa Direct card payouts listed at four hours and better safer gambling tools than most. This review also covers where it lets Irish players down.

Company details checked against William Hill's Irish terms and help centre on 23 September 2026.
🏁 Is William Hill Casino worth it for Irish players?
Not right now. While reader complaints about accounts being suspended after verification and deposit are still unresolved, we're not recommending William Hill Casino to Irish players. That's a shame, because the basics are good. The sportsbook has held a GRAI licence since 15 July 2026, Visa Direct withdrawals are listed at four hours, and every Irish account gets an hourly reality check.
The trouble starts when something goes wrong. William Hill's complaints page says Irish residents can't use eCOGRA, the free adjudicator it offers customers elsewhere, and it doesn't name an Irish alternative. There's no phone line or general support email either, just messaging. We checked all of this on 23 September 2026 against the Irish help centre, the Irish terms and the GRAI licence certificate. We haven't run a funded account. If you're worried about your own account being suspended, this guide to playing without getting banned from casinos explains the usual triggers.
✅ William Hill Casino suits you if
- You already hold a verified William Hill account and mostly bet on sport, which is the part covered by the Irish GRAI licence.
- You withdraw to a Visa Direct debit card and want your money the same day.
- You want firm limits built in, such as the hourly reality check and product blocking that can switch off casino while leaving sport open.
❌ Look elsewhere if
- You deposit with PayPal, Skrill or another e-wallet. None is listed for Irish accounts.
- You want a free independent body to settle disputes. eCOGRA is closed to Irish residents here.
- You would rather not rely on a single messaging channel for support.
Before you decide, look at the best Irish casinos ranking or read a few other Irish casino reviews.
⚖️ William Hill Casino pros and cons
What we liked
- The sportsbook holds Irish GRAI licence GRAI-1096-RB-26-0001, issued 15 July 2026 and valid to 14 July 2029.
- Withdrawals to Visa Direct debit cards are listed at four hours, and Apple Pay payouts as immediate.
- Live chat support runs 24/7 through the Message Us option.
- Every Irish account gets a pop-up each hour showing time played and net position for the session.
- Product blocking can shut off casino, live casino, bingo, poker and games while keeping sport open.
What we didn't
- Irish residents are excluded from eCOGRA adjudication, and no other free external dispute service is named for them.
- Only three deposit methods are listed for Irish accounts: debit card, Pay by Bank and Apple Pay. No PayPal or e-wallets.
- No phone number or general support email is published, so messaging is the only way in.
- The casino runs on a Gibraltar licence while the sportsbook is GRAI-licensed, so one account sits under two regulators.
🔍 How we assessed William Hill Casino
We started where most Irish readers start: who actually runs the account? The Irish terms name WH Ireland Limited, company number 126471, registered in Gibraltar, while the William Hill brand belongs to evoke plc. The GRAI licence certificate covers betting only. Casino and poker run on a Gibraltar licence.
The international terms tripped us up. They still name William Hill Malta PLC and an old Revenue licence for Irish customers, which doesn't match the Irish footer, so we've treated the Irish terms as the current ones.
Next came the five articles in the Irish section of the help centre. The payments page lists only three methods for Irish accounts. Verification asks for the front of an Irish driving licence, or a passport plus two recent proofs of address. The complaints page told us the most, because it shuts Irish residents out of eCOGRA. Last, we went through the welcome offer terms clause by clause.
Every check was made on 23 September 2026. We haven't opened a funded account, so you won't find deposit, payout or chat timings of our own here. The page is scored against the casino rating methodology and written under our editorial principles.
🔑 Is William Hill Casino safe and licensed for Irish players?
Licence: Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, number GRAI-1096-RB-26-0001, a remote betting licence held by WH Ireland Limited. See the GRAI licence register. We reviewed the licence certificate on 23 September 2026. It was issued on 15 July 2026 and expires on 14 July 2029.
Casino licence: Gibraltar Remote Gaming Licence number 112, regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner. Checked against William Hill's Irish terms on 23 September 2026.
In short: William Hill's Irish licence covers the sportsbook only. The casino reaches Ireland on a Gibraltar licence.
The GRAI took over remote betting licensing from Ireland's Revenue Commissioners on 1 July 2026. Casino and gaming licences are still on a phased rollout with no confirmed date. The credit card gambling ban has applied since 5 February 2026, and the Section 157 inducement rules are drafted but not yet commenced. The Irish gambling regulations page tracks the rollout.

🎁 William Hill Casino bonus and promotions
New Irish customers get a free spins offer, and there's a rotating set of short promotions on top. Here's how the sign-up deal works and how it compares with other casino bonuses.
🚫 William Hill Casino no deposit bonus
The only new customer offer in the Irish terms needs a €10 qualifying stake, so there's no no deposit bonus for Irish players. For offers that don't need one, try these no deposit bonuses, or the free spins no deposit list for spins with no stake at all.
💰 William Hill Casino welcome bonus
The current offer for new customers in the Republic of Ireland is stake and get on Big Bass Splash. The terms say it has run since 3pm Irish time on 30 January 2026, with no end date set.
💯 Free spins offer
- Bonus: 200 free spins at €0.10 each, €20 in total spin value
- Eligible Game(s) for Free Spins: Big Bass Splash
- Min Deposit: €10
- Qualifying Stake: €10 on Big Bass Splash from your main balance, which can be split across several bets
- Wagering Requirement: None (clause j), so the only turnover involved is the €10 qualifying stake
- Max Winnings: €20 (clause h)
- Spins Expire: 72 hours after they are credited (clause f)
- gamblingcare.ie
- 1st deposit: 200 free spins on Big Bass Splash after a €10 qualifying stake. Promo code: IBB200
Put the code in when you register, because it can't be added later (clause d). You also have to opt in on the promotion page before your qualifying stake. It's one offer per person, household, device and payment method (clause l).
Read clause g carefully. It says unused spins, and any winnings from used spins, are removed when the 72 hours are up. It isn't clear how that fits with the no wagering promise, so play the spins promptly and check your balance well before the window closes. The guide to casino wagering requirements explains why a no wagering label isn't always the whole story.
Full terms and conditions (T&Cs) are available on William Hill's promotion page, terms ID 2810820 / 2810819.
🥂 William Hill Casino rewards and VIP programme
There's no loyalty scheme or VIP club in the Irish help centre, as of 23 September 2026. Other casino promotions change every week or so, so we haven't listed them. Check the promotions page on the day you play.
T&Cs apply.
🎲 William Hill Casino table games and slots
The lobby is split into casino games sections for slots, jackpots, table games, live casino, bingo and poker. Each counts as a separate product, which is why you can block any one of them on its own. You can try the titles below on the free casino games pages first.
🎰 Slots
Slots take up most of the lobby, sorted into categories so you can narrow things down by style. Big Bass Splash, the welcome offer game, sits here alongside online slot machines from Pragmatic Play, Games Global and Blueprint Gaming.
⚡ Progressive jackpots
Jackpots get their own section, with prize pools that keep growing until someone lands one. You can try these free first.
🃏 Table games
Table games cover roulette, baccarat and blackjack, while poker has its own section with tournaments and a separate download. Before you sit down, the blackjack strategy and roulette odds guides are worth ten minutes.
- 100/1 Roulette
- Baccarat
- Casino Hold'em
- Perfect Blackjack
- Premium Roulette
💻 Game software providers
These are the studios behind the lobby. For more on the bigger names, see the casino software guide.
📡 William Hill live casino
Evolution Gaming supplies most of the live casino tables. Three things make the section stand out:
- International tables: A dedicated International category groups tables hosted in other languages, useful if you want a quieter table or a different dealer style.
- Exclusive titles: Some tables are branded for William Hill and are not found at other casinos.
- Separate controls: Live casino counts as its own product, so you can block it through support without losing access to slots or sport.
📹 Live games
- Live baccarat: Grand Baccarat, Peek Baccarat, Prosperity Tree Baccarat, and Speed Baccarat.
- Live blackjack: Free Bet Blackjack, Lightning Blackjack, Mega Fire Blaze Blackjack, and One Blackjack.
- Live game shows: Cash or Crash, Crazy Time, Deal or No Deal, Funky Time, and Mega Ball.
- Live poker: Caribbean Stud Poker, Casino Hold'em, Side Bet City, and Ultimate Texas Hold'em.
- Live roulette: Azure Roulette, Immersive Roulette, and Power Up Roulette.
🏅 William Hill sports betting
The William Hill sportsbook is the part of the brand the Irish GRAI licence covers, and it shares one account and one set of limits with the casino. Racing, GAA and football sit next to the international sports you'd expect from a bookmaker this size. The full William Hill sportsbook review covers the betting side, and the best sportsbooks in Ireland guide covers everyone else. Sports on offer include:
📱 William Hill Casino desktop and mobile user experience
We haven't used the site with a funded account, so this section sticks to what William Hill documents about its own interface. The casino lives on its own Vegas subdomain, apart from the sportsbook. Most account tools hang off the balance icon in the top right, including Withdraw and the Safer Gambling menu with limits and time-outs. Every 60 minutes, Irish accounts get a pop-up with time played and net position. Support takes more finding. You have to scroll to the bottom of the page and pick Message Us under Help. Blocking a product also means a chat request, not a toggle, which is one more step for anyone trying to switch casino off. The mobile casino guide covers what to check on a phone.
📂 William Hill Casino mobile app review
There's an iOS app. The Irish payments page says Apple Pay deposits need it on iOS 13 or later, and older versions have to use the browser. The Irish help centre doesn't mention an Android app, so check Google Play before you count on one. If you want an app on both platforms, the best casino apps list has options.
💳 William Hill Casino deposit, withdrawal methods and times
Irish accounts get their own payments page, and it's shorter than the one other countries see.
💶 William Hill Casino deposit methods and times
The Republic of Ireland payments page lists three deposit methods: debit card, Pay by Bank and Apple Pay. With a €5 card minimum, it sits among the €5 deposit casinos. If you want PayPal casinos, this isn't one: PayPal is missing, and so are Skrill, Neteller and Paysafecard. Revolut isn't named, though nothing rules out Revolut-issued debit cards. Credit cards are blocked, including through Apple Pay. Compare it with other casino banking options.
Deposit terms checked 23 September 2026.
⏱️ William Hill Casino withdrawal methods, times and limits
Apple Pay withdrawals are listed as immediate and Visa Direct debit card payouts at four hours. Pay by Bank takes up to one working day, and other debit cards one to three working days, depending on your bank. While a withdrawal still shows as pending, you can reverse it. If card funds haven't arrived after five working days, William Hill asks you to request an ARN so your bank can trace the payment. If speed matters most, look at the fast payout casinos.

📤 How to withdraw winnings at William Hill Casino
- Click the balance icon at the top of the page and choose Withdraw.
- Enter the amount and pick the method. Winnings usually go back to the method you deposited with.
- Have your documents ready. If you are asked for ID, the quickest option is the front of an Irish driving licence. Without one, you need a passport or Irish Residence Permit plus two proofs of address dated within the last six months, with all four corners visible. The casino withdrawal guide explains why these checks happen.
- Confirm the request. It can still be reversed while it shows as pending.
📞 William Hill Casino customer support info
There's one live channel, backed by a help centre with its own Republic of Ireland section.
Support details checked 23 September 2026.
We haven't contacted support, so we can't say how quickly it answers. On paper, chat runs 24/7, and if chat doesn't sort a complaint, the second opinion team aims to close Irish cases within 14 days. The complaints page also confirms that eCOGRA adjudication isn't open to anyone living in the Republic of Ireland. If a complaint stalls, the guide to reporting online casinos sets out what to do next.
🆚 How William Hill Casino compares
We've put William Hill up against Ladbrokes and BoyleSports. All three are high street bookmakers Irish players already know, and each runs a sportsbook and casino from one account. If you're choosing a casino because you already bet with the brand, these are the real alternatives. BoyleSports has the same licence split and scores higher on payments and app. Ladbrokes has a much bigger lobby.

📋 How to sign up and register at William Hill Casino
- Go to the William Hill website or app and choose Join.
- Fill in your personal details and create your login.
- Set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit if you want one. You can do this now or later from the Safer Gambling menu.
- Verify your identity. Under Irish rules, William Hill has to verify you before you can keep gambling. Upload the front of an Irish driving licence, or a passport or Irish Residence Permit plus two proofs of address dated within six months. William Hill confirms by email and does not publish a set timeframe.
- Make your first deposit by debit card, Pay by Bank or Apple Pay.
🏁 Our William Hill Casino verdict
On paper, William Hill is well run. The sportsbook has a GRAI licence, Visa Direct payouts are listed at four hours, and the safer gambling tools go further than most. What stops us recommending the casino is the gap between those tools and the dispute process. Irish residents can't take a complaint to eCOGRA, and the suspension reports at the top of this page are exactly why that matters. If you mainly bet on sport and already have an account, there's no need to leave. If you're new to the casino, the alternatives above are a safer bet.

❓ William Hill review FAQs
Is William Hill legal in Ireland?
Yes. For Irish customers, William Hill is run by WH Ireland Limited, which holds GRAI remote betting licence GRAI-1096-RB-26-0001, issued on 15 July 2026. That licence covers the sportsbook. The casino and poker products run under Gibraltar Remote Gaming Licence 112, because GRAI has not yet started issuing casino licences.
What welcome bonus can I claim at William Hill?
New Irish customers can get 200 free spins on Big Bass Splash, worth €0.10 each. You deposit at least €10, opt in, then stake €10 on Big Bass Splash from your main balance. There is no wagering, but winnings are capped at €20 and the spins expire 72 hours after they land.
Do I need a bonus code to claim the welcome bonus at William Hill?
Yes. The code is IBB200, and it has to be entered when you register. The terms do not allow you to add it after the account is open.
What banking options can I use at William Hill?
William Hill's payments page for the Republic of Ireland lists three methods. PayPal and other e-wallets are not listed, and credit cards are blocked.
- Debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro), from €5
- Pay by Bank, from €10
- Apple Pay, from €10, through the iOS app
Can I play live casino games at William Hill?
Yes. Live casino is a separate product at William Hill, with most tables supplied by Evolution Gaming. Because it counts as its own product, you can ask support to block live casino without losing access to slots or sport.
Can I play bingo at William Hill?
Yes. Bingo sits alongside the casino as its own product. Like live casino, it can be blocked on its own through live chat if you want to cut it out.
Can I play lotto at William Hill?
Yes, William Hill offers lottery products. One thing to know: product blocking does not cover lottery, so if you want to restrict it, you would need a deposit limit, a time-out or self-exclusion instead.
