France are one of the favourites to win the Rugby World Cup 2023. Australia is going through an Eddie-Jones transformation - for better or worse - and big change can be unsettling for any team. For me, I can't see anything but Les Bleus throwing the kitchen sink at the Wallabies. Their wish to put a mark in the sand in terms of their claim to win the Webb Ellis Cup will mean they will play their hearts out from start to finish - and big effort often leads to a big scoreboard difference. I would love to see the Aussies put on a good show, but I think they will fall foul of the French by 18 points.

Unlike for my Italy v Japan prediction, I won't be going against the bookies' favourite this time. France are the well-deserved number three in the world, and they will show on Sunday why. Do I think France to win at 1.16 at Luckster Sports is a bet worth having, though? The potential return is a little lower than for what I would normally aim, but I like the look of this one, and, despite the look I can imagine on my fierce-England-fan-of-a-wife's face, I think I would be tempted to back France for this one.

France v Australia is going to be like the tale of Saint Daniel in the lions' den for the Australians, except that there will be no divine help this time. The Wallabies are walking into the rugby equivalent of a ferocious lion's maw, and there will be a big score - I am predicting 18 points difference. With that in mind, should you think like me, your best option may seem to be France to win (-16.5) at 2.07 at TonyBet Sports.

3️⃣ Both Halves: France to Win Both Halves

Les Bleus are going to be on the warpath from the first whistle, but will they dominate both halves? I would say it's unclear. I think Australia also have a lot to prove this match and will put up a good fight - at least in the first half. I think crucial points will be scored by France in the second half, which will be the key to the break-down of the Wallabies in the end.
