League leaders Arsenal will take on arguably the unluckiest Premier League team at the Emirates on December 2nd, with Wolves having once again been the victims of a VAR error against Fulham last time out. Gary O’Neil’s side lost 3-2 at Craven Cottage, with this just their second defeat in six EPL games following an impressive run of form. As for the Gunners, they continue to grind out results without yet hitting top gear, and they’ll be favourites to record a fifth successive home win in all competitions. But which team do I think will prevail here?
🏆 Arsenal vs Wolves EPL Prediction
These two teams have met 122 times since September 1904, with Arsenal having won more than half (62) of these matches. Wolves have a total of 32 wins to their name, but just two in the last 29 encounters since a 3-2 victory at the old Highbury on September 29th, 1979.
They’ve won just once at the Emirates, and despite their relatively impressive form under O’Neil, it’s hard to make a compelling case for them improving this record at the weekend. More specifically, the Gunners have produced more shot-creations per 90 this season than Wolves (26.08 vs 20.69), while their xG value is also noticeably higher (22.6 vs 17.7). They’ve also averaged 60.9% possession in the 2023/24 EPL (compared to just 47.2% for Wolves), so they away side will have to rely on counterattacks and rapid transitions to threaten the Arsenal goal.
The good news for Wolves is that the Gunners remain much more defensively vulnerable at home, having only kept two clean sheets in seven EPL games at the Emirates and shipped seven goals in total. To provide some context, the side has kept four clean sheets in six matches on the road, while Burnley managed to score and trouble the Arsenal backline in a 3-1 defeat for the Clarets on November 11th.
Wolves have also scored in all but one of their EPL games this season (and six out of seven on the road), so I think they’ll find the net at the weekend. However, the Gunners continue to win without playing particularly well, and they should have too much quality for a plucky Wolves side!
My Prediction: 🏆 Arsenal 3 – 1 Wolves ⚽

✔️ Arsenal vs Wolves - Betting Tips
Some wagering strategies are less effective than others when betting on the EPL clash between Arsenal and Wolves, such as matched betting. After all, Arsenal are heavy favourites to prevail here, so there’s little value in laying a back bet on the Gunners to win. But what other betting tips can help you to make the most of your starting bankroll?
- Tip 1: Back Arsenal to Win and Both Teams to Score: Arsenal definitely look more defensively vulnerable at home, with this continuing a trend from the 2022/23 season. The Gunners only kept four clean sheets in their 19 EPL games at the Emirates last season, while shipping 25 goals in total in front of their own fans (they only conceded 18 on the road). So, while I expect Arsenal to prevail, there’s value backing them to win and both sides to score at the price of 3.20 with TonyBet Sports.
- Tip 2: Back Both Sides to Score: Interestingly, the odds imply a higher probability of both sides not scoring at the Emirates, which arguably fails to take into account Arsenal’s defensive frailty at home. Remember, Wolves have also scored in 12 consecutive Premier League matches since the opening day of the season, while they’ve only drawn a single blank on the road all season (at Manchester United). So, there’s value in backing both teams to score at a price of 2.10 with LegendPlay Sports.
- Tip 3: Back Both Sides to Score in the Second Half: Of Arsenal’s 27 EPL goals this season, 19 have come during the second half of games. Wolves have only scored four of their 18 EPL goals in the first 45 minutes of their matches too, while these sides have struck 15 times in the final 15 minutes between them. So, get on both teams to score in the second half of this encounter at a price of 3.80 with Dachet Sports.
1️⃣ Arsenal Update
The Gunners have only lost one of their previous 14 matches dating back to May, while Mikel Arteta’s well organised and increasingly combative side have taken 23 points from their previous 30 available to them. So, they’re top of the EPL form table over the course of the last 10 matches, while they drew a point clear of Manchester City in the Premier League after a last-gasp win at Brentford last time out. They’re also a different proposition than they were last season, with the team having adopted a more pragmatic approach and earned four 1-0 wins already (compared to just three in 2022/23).

Both Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Jesus returned to the Gunners starting 11 last weekend, with the Norwegian playing a key role in Kai Havertz’ late winner against Brentford. This leaves Arsenal without Thomas Partey (hamstring injury) and Emile Smith-Rowe (knee) against Wolves, while Jurrien Timber remains a long-term absentee as he recovers from a cruciate ligament tear. Midfielder Fabio Viera misses out with suspension after being sent off against Burnley.

2️⃣ Wolves Update
While the sites featured in Betinireland’s bookmaker reviews all make Wolves rank outsiders to win at the Emirates, Gary O’Neil’s men have only lost two of their last eight matches since an unfortunate 3-1 defeat at home against Liverpool on September 16th. What has been even more impressive during this sequence as being Wolves’ attacking output, with the side having scored in each of their eight EPL games and deservedly beaten defending champions Manchester City at Molineux. Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan has also impressed with seven EPL goals this season, from a total of 20 shots and xG value of just 3.6.

At the time of writing, Pedro Neto remains Wolves’ only injury absentee, with the Portuguese creative winger (who has seven EPL assists to his name this season) laid low with a hamstring injury. However, Wolves will also be without central midfield stars Mario Lemina and João Gomes for the trip to the Emirates Stadium, as both will serve a one-game suspension having each accumulated five yellow cards.
