England's second-string team put in a strong performance in the second ODI against Ireland to take an unassailable 1-0 lead into the final match of the series at the Seat Unique Stadium in Bristol on Tuesday. Looking at the weather forecast, there is a good chance that the match will be impacted by the weather, but hopefully we will get enough overs in to constitute a match. Just like I have done with the first two matches of the series and the cricket world cup , I will now give some betting tips for this third ODI match. Take a look at them before you go ahead and place wagers at any betting sites.
💯 England v Ireland Betting Odds
Cricket betting is growing in popularity among Irish punters, even those who are not big fans of the sport, and this is because it is one of those sports that offers plenty of betting variation. As a result, there are plenty of Irish bookmakers that offer odds for a variety of cricket matches, and you will not struggle to find one that is offering odds and markets for this England vs Ireland match. In the tables below, you can find the competitive odds that five top bookies are offering for some of my favourite cricket markets.
Match Winner Odds: England v Ireland
The match winner market is a simple one to understand, since what you are tasked with doing is trying to predict the team or participant that will go on to win the game. When it comes to the ODI format, there are never usually odds available for a draw since they are very rare. In the table below, you can find some of the best odds around for either England or Ireland to win this third ODI.
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
England | 1.14 | 1.11 | 1.15 | 1.10 | 1.10 |
Ireland | 5.50 | 5.10 | 5.30 | 5.20 | 5.20 |
Top Batsman Odds: England v Ireland
If the match winner was the only market available, then cricket bettors would get bored pretty quickly. A favourite market of mine is the top batsman market, which is where you have to try and predict the batsmen that will score the most runs in the innings for their team. This is a hard market to get right, since all it takes is one small mistake for a batsman to be dismissed, but getting it right can lead to some decent profits. Below I have given you three English and Irish batsmen that I think have a shot at being the top scorer for their country in Bristol.
England:
Player | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Phil Salt | 4.33 | 4.20 | 4.20 | 4.25 | 4.25 |
Will Jacks | 4.50 | 4.80 | 4.80 | 4.25 | 4.25 |
Sam Hain | 5.50 | 4.90 | 4.90 | 4.75 | 4.75 |
Ireland:
Player | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Paul Stirling | 4.33 | 3.90 | 3.90 | 4.00 | 4.00 |
Harry Tector | 4.50 | 4.10 | 4.10 | 4.50 | 4.50 |
Curtis Campher | 6.00 | 6.00 | 6.00 | 5.00 | 5.00 |
Top Wicket Taker Odds: England v Ireland
If you do not want to try and predict the top scorer for either team, then you also have the option of trying to predict the top bowler for either side - the top bowler is classified as the one that picks up the most wickets for their team, no matter how many runs they end up conceding. This market also comes with some high odds, and below I have selected three bowlers from England and Ireland that I think could end up being the best bowler for their side on Tuesday.
England:
Player | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Matthew Potts | 4.00 | 3.90 | 3.90 | 3.90 | 3.90 |
George Scrimshaw | 4.50 | 4.30 | 4.30 | 4.33 | 4.33 |
Ahmed Rehan | 4.33 | 4.70 | 4.70 | 4.00 | 4.00 |
Ireland
Player | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Josh Little | 4.33 | 4.30 | 4.30 | 3.75 | 3.75 |
Craig Young | 5.50 | 5.25 | 5.30 | 4.80 | 4.80 |
George Dockrell | 6.00 | 7.00 | 7.00 | 5.60 | 5.60 |
🔍 England v Ireland Match Winner Prediction
I predicted a close match for the second ODI, and it was closer than England would have hoped, considering the position that they had the Irish in at one point. With the score at 188/8, it looked like England were going to win by more than 100 runs, but Barry McCarthy, Craig Young, and Josh Little scored 110 runs to give England a little bit of a scare. Overall, it was an entertaining match, and I see no reason why the final game of the series should not be the same.
As for the winner, well my money is on England to win and claim a 2-0 series win. Although they are an extremely inexperienced side, they have more raw talent than the Irish team, and this should be enough to see them over the line. Once again, I see it being closer than the odds that the sportsbooks are offering would suggest.

✔️ England v Ireland Betting Tips
Let me now give you some of my top betting tips for this third ODI game between England and Ireland.
Match Winner: England to Win
This has been a very useful series for England as it gave them the chance to give some fringe players some much needed international experience, and the likes of Will Jacks and Sam Hain took their opportunities with both hands. The future is definitely looking bright for the England ODI team. Many of the Irish players already have plenty of experience on the international stage, and this series allowed them to show that they are improving all of the time and are no mugs with bat or ball.
Although they have a lot more experience, the England team has more quality in its ranks, and this should shine through at the Seat Unique Stadium in Bristol. Therefore, I am predicting England to win the match and earn themselves a comfortable 2-0 win.
If you want to put money on England to win at 1.15, Head on to TonyBet.
England’s Top Batsman Winner: Sam Hain to Win
Sam Hain made his ODI debut at Trent Bridge last week, but his name has been in the conversation for some time as he has been consistently scoring runs in domestic cricket for some time now. He scored 89 from 82 balls, and looked right at home on the international stage - with some of the shots that he played, you would be forgiven for thinking that you were watching Jos Buttler in his prime. He clearly has plenty of talent, so he is my choice for England's top batsman in this third ODI.
If you want to bet on Hain to be England's top scorer at 5.5 head on to Boylesports.
Ireland’s Top Batsman Winner: Paul Stirling to Win
Stirling was looking really good in the second ODI before he got a corker from Matty Potts, and there is no doubt that he is one of Ireland's best batsmen. His ODI record is testament to this as he has scored more than 5000 runs for his country at an average of just under 40.00. Some wickets in cricket are sought after more than others, and there is no doubt that England will consider Stirling's wicket to be the prized one in this final ODI.
If you feel like backing Stirling to be the top scorer for Ireland at 4.33 in this match, you should consider BoyleSports.
England’s Top Wicket Taker: Rehan Ahmed to Win Top Wicket Taken
I backed Rehan Ahmed to be the top bowler for England in the second ODI, and he put in a top bowling performance to pick up 4 wickets for 54 from the 10 overs that he bowled. The Irish batsmen seemed to struggle with his variations in pace and drift, and I can see him causing a number of issues for them once again - he is definitely one to keep an eye on in the future, and will probably be England's next Adil Rashid. I am backing him to be England's top bowler once again in this next match.
If you want to put your money on Ahmed to finish at the top wicket taker for England at 4.70 head to PlamSlots sports.
Ireland's Top Wicket Taker: George Dockrell to Win Top Wicket Taker
I backed Josh Little to be Ireland's top wicket-taker in the previous match, but he had a game to forget, conceding 82 runs from the 10 overs that he bowled. I am not going to back him this time around, which probably means that he will pick up a 5-wicket haul. My money for this third ODI is on George Dockrell, who bowled really well on Saturday, picking up 4 wickets for 43 from 8 overs. He bowled intelligently, varying his pace, and was difficult to score off.
If you want to place a wager on , Dockrell to be Ireland's top wicket taker at 7.00 go to PalmSlots Sports.
